Wolverine And The X-men: The Action Figure Toy Series. Will Hasbro make them?

Alright so we have this big, new X-men animated series coming out. This is the third one. Each X-men cartoon before had toy lines backing it up. In the old days it was ToyBiz which became Marvel Toys. And now Hasbro has the keys to the Marvel Universe kingdom.

Hasbro is currently making toys for Marvel comic-verse with Marvel Legends with movie cameos. A Spider-man movie series with some fabricated movie-style interpretations, and a toyline for the Spectacular Spider-man animated series.

Now one would think, you have a new show mainly aimed a 6-14 demographic, debuts in January, and a big new summer movie for cross-promotion synergy in May 2009 that Marvel would want some toys for the show on the shelves as well. Merchandising, right?

But we've not seen anything about toys for this show. I did corner the Marvel/Hasbro guy at SDCC, and he seemed positive toward the idea about Hasbro making figures, but he wouldn't say much else. The show is set to debut on Nicktoons hopefully in early January of 2009. So maybe could see some toys around Toy Fair 09 since there would still be like over half a season left.

I mean, the show has great toy possibilites. And if Hasbro basically turned this into their version of the JLU series, it has great potential.

yes! I really hope hasbro makes figures based off of their new looks in the cartoon! I cant wait until feb. to find out so im making my own figures. *runs away to start making customs of the x-men*

I don't think they'll make any. The show is on Nicktoons a channel that few people have compared to other networks. Such as Spider-man and TMNT are on the CW a channel that alot more people have. So more reason to make toys. So far no other Nicktoon show has toys. So I don't see this show getting any unless it's huge.

Maybe, they didn't make any for the new fantastic four cartoon and that came out during the movie. To bad too some of the designs for the show were cool.

Thats true, I hadnt thought of that. I wouldnt buy them anyway, I just think it would be a good idea to make them.

well look at the spectacular spiderman figures. they are IDENTICAL to their animated counterparts. That really makes me hope that hasbro does the same the the xmen.

Well the second wave of toys are. The first wave was prtty lame.

yeah there spot on. If I liked the shows designs I'd buy them. I hate Electors nipples, but the Lizard is kind of cool. I might get him. Depends on when I see him in person.

Well Nickelodeon shows have had toy support. Like Avatar.

Fantastic Four the new animated show might not have gotten figures, but look Spectacular Spider-man did.

Plus this is X-men so you can do a lot more stuff.

not really. the past nick toy lines have been made by fischer price or mattel. Since Hasbro now has rights to Marvel, they will get to make the toys. so there is no need to worry about the line sucking.

and the F4 cartoon was supposted to have toys but they got cancelled because the show bombed.

Yeah this is going to be a Marvel line, not a Nick line. Plus, the Spectacular Spider-man show got toys behind it. Iron Man and Wolverine should as well since they are pretty much going for the same demographic.

Hasbro's made some improvements to the Marvel toys recently, though I miss a lot of the ToyBiz stuff.

I mean Hasbro was kind of late but they did eventually make more X-men 3 movie figures with Juggernaut, Phoenix, and Colossus even as part of ML.

Were prototypes not made for FF: WGH?

I hope they do all the characters (like the 90 series, back at then all the chars have their own action figure) I hope they give to the fans what we deserve a decent figure of our favorites characters even the girls cause with evolution the only femme toy was storm.
