Wolverine Script Review Discussion

Why was it shutdown? It's typical that you're allowed to talk about the script but just not post it.

Anyway, loved the script. It actually ties nicely into Singer's first and second X-Men. Especially since it does answer why Sabertooth doesn't "remember" Logan in X-Men and it does a very nice job of why that would be?

Sabertooth, by the way, is bad ass in this script. A real murderer, even if he always has to have a one-liner before every kill. At least they're good one liners.

I just hope they're loyal to the Alkali Lake design done by Dyas in Singer's movies. There's really no reason to change it and it'll only go further to establish a continuity among all the series. Plus, Dyas designed rocked and to see the "claw marks" made in this film could be a nice treat for fans.

^Gotta be honest i didnt like certain aspects of the script, I have NO doubt this movie will be better than X3 (what could be worse?), but the Sabretooth clone thing i didnt care for. But we'll see, Hood seems an intellegent director, so i hope he is able to make it work.

This script was one of the first drafts from back in 2006. It was before they added Deadpool and Gambit.

I really dug this script. Simple yet efficient. I like the fact that this time, it is more of a character piece. When I heard all those casting announcements, I feared that the film might end up too crowded but each mutant integrates the story perfectly. Where will Gambit and Deadpool appear in the script? Well I have my own thoughts...

I think that in the end, Weapon XI might a combo of Gambit, Deadpool, Sabretooth's clone and a mutant played bu the dude who "acted" in Undisputed II.

Yes, he is in the movie. An actor was cast and it was recently revealed that the character weighs upwards of 700 lbs (or, at least, it will look like he weighs that much).

It may just be me, but I don't like the fact that they turned them into ordinary, middle-aged farmers.

The early draft of WOLVERINE is pretty good. It's about what Marvel's been putting out lately. Entertaining and action packed stuff, but fairly thin with not as much depth as I'd like to see. Logan's characterization continues to be along the lines of the X-Men movies. They do get the character right, though, as well as most of the other characters. The action is very well conceived, and the Wolverine/Sabertooth battles will be fantastic. The love story between Wolverine and Silverfox is a bit forced. Weapon X seems to be played more as a montage than a developing story point, and I wish there was more of Dr. Cornelius. Stryker's motivations are a bit thin this time around, and derivative of his X2 character. I don't expect them to change outright, but I was hoping there'd be something more to him and his feelings about mutants. The cameos with The Blob and Beak and various other characters were done fairly well, and it'll be cool to see Gambit and Deadpool in it, though. One thing I thought was missing was any allusion to Wolverine's age.
