Not sure if this is true or not. Have you heard anything about this, AD? I sent the posting to SHH to see if they could confirm. According to this blog:

http://www.mcnblogs.com/thehotblog/archives/2007/07/more_comiccon.html

It turns out that Fox will be in San Diego, in spite of pulling out of the drama over them pulling out of the Room H spectacle. Gavin Hood will be there for Wolverine, though it is not clear whether Hugh Jackman will get off of Baz's set long enough to come to The Con.

Thanks to Pat P.

I just came here to post that i thought that Fox should use Comic Con to introduce Hood.:p But you already posted the answer.:D

Hopefully this is true because i'm interested in hearing what he has to say.

Edit - The following has been posted on Comic Con's official site.Hmm...

I saw this at The Hot Blog, which is written by David Poland who usually has good inside info, so hopefully this may be true and we will get more info. I think the guy that runs comingsoon.net (Edward Douglas?) has posted on his site in the "reply" section at times so we'll see!

EDIT: Edward Douglas has responded on The Hot Blog with this:

Asked someone at Fox and they denied that they're bringing Gavin Hood to Comic-Con. I believe them because there's no reason when he's just been announced and probably hasn't even started working on the script.

And then the next person in the comments said:

Actually, Gavin Hood canceled in the last 24 hours due to work conflict.

Ah well :(

Len Wein will be one the special guests at Comic Con 2008 (July 24-27).

Len Wein

Comics, TV, and movie writer Len Wein began his career in comics 40 years ago. He has been editor-in-chief of Marvel Comics, Disney Comics, and Top Cow, as well as a senior editor at DC Comics. He is the co-creator of comic book series Swamp Thing, Human Target, Brother Voodoo, Wolverine, and the New X-Men. His new feature-length screenplay of Swamp Thing is currently in development with Silver Pictures, and he has also written the screenplay for Whirlwind, a new super-heroine for POW! Entertainment. He is currently at work on several other projects.

I'm sure he'll have a thing or two to say about the character he co-created.

San Diego Comic Con 2008: A Look Ahead at What Fans Can Expect!

Written by Robert Sanchez
Tuesday, 17 June 2008

We are just over a month away from the biggest and best pop culture event in world, San Diego Comic Con 2008!

I have been attending San Diego Comic Con for almost a decade. Organizations have tried to copy the success of the Con but with only mediocre success. San Diego Comic Con is the ultimate place to be if you are a fan of movies, TV shows and comic books.

First if you plan on attending, get your passes now if you haven't already. Four day passes have already sold out and only individual days are available. If you still haven't booked your hotel rooms, you are probably S.O.L. If you have one already, good for you.

So what can we expect come late July in the beautiful city of San Diego?

While the final schedule is yet to be determined and guests have not been locked down (and with the actors strike who knows who will be showing up), this what we have heard so far from various sources.

Warner Bros. will be featuring RocknRolla, Ninja Assassin, Star Wars: The Clone Wars, Terminator: Salvation, Watchmen and Friday the 13th. Christian Bale, Zack Snyder and the cast of Watchmen, Jared Padalecki are rumored.

Paramount will have a Tropic Thunder screening. We have heard there might be something for G.I. Joe and Star Trek. No guests rumored.

The Weinstein Company will showcase Kevin Smith's Zack and Miri Make a Porno and possibly premiere the highly anticipated film from Kyle Newman, Fanboys. Kevin Smith, Seth Rogen, Elizabeth Banks, Kyle Newman and Jaime King are rumored.

Lionsgate will only focus their attention on Frank Miller's The Spirit and maybe show a little from their upcoming reboot Punisher: War Zone. Frank Miller, Jaime King, Eva Mendes, Gabriel Macht, Samuel L. Jackson are rumored.

20th Century Fox will have a little something from the City of Ember, Mirrors and the Day the Earth Stood Still. No word if X-Men Origins: Wolverine will have any presence. Keanu Reeves, Jennifer Connelly, Kiefer Sutherland, Amy Smart and Alexandre Aja rumored.

Sony/Screen Gems will have Quarantine, Underworld 3: the Rise of the Lycans and we have been hearing rumors about a little something from the Quantum of Solace. Rhona Mitra, Bill Nighy, Michael Sheen, Jennifer Carpenter, Chris Brown, Jay Hernandez rumored.

Universal will have Death Race. There is a good possibility of having Land of the Lost and Rob Cohen's The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor. Jason Statham, Paul W.S. Anderson, Rob Cohen, Brendan Fraser, Danny McBride, Will Ferrell rumored.

Summit will be bringing the cast of Twilight for a panel and autograph signing. Catherine Hardwicke, Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson, Cam Gigandet, Rachelle LaFevre, Edi Gathegi, Taylor Lautner and author Stephenie Meyer confirmed.

On the TV front NBC will be showcasing Heroes and Fear Itself. Plus, we are hearing Fox will be showing of a bit of J.J. Abrams’ Fringe. Complete cast of Heroes rumored. Alex Kurtzman, Roberto Orci and J.J. Abrams rumored.

The only panel we can confirm 100% is on Thursday morning at 10:00am to 11:00am June 24th - The Masters of the Web panel with several popular websites in attendance including IESB, CHUD, Latino Review, Ain’t It Cool News, Movie Web, The Movie Blog, Dark Horizons, JoBlo, Cinematical and Bloody-Disgusting. The panel will be moderated by our good friends and super directors Mark Neveldine and Brian Taylor (The Game, Crank 2). Make sure you stop on by!

This is from June 25.

While I don’t know specific times and days for the following, I do know that Fox will be featuring talent and most likely footage from the following films:

- The Day the Earth Stood Still (Keanu Reeves, Jennifer Connelly and Scott Derickson, Erwin Stoff )
- Max Payne (Mark Wahlberg, John Moore, Mila Kunis)
- Mirrors (Keifer Sutherland, Alex Aja, Amy Smart and/or Paula Patton)
- The Rocker (Rainn Wilson)

Unfortunately it does look like Wolverine may not be part of the plans, which is a rumor I have heard before.

Thanks narrows.

That really sucks if it's true. How can they not have any Wolverine presence at comic con? Last year we hoped for it but now...now shooting has already been completed so it's not like they don't have anything to show to the fans. When X2 was barely in production the director went to Comic Con and brought with him a reel of footage and his crew put together after only a few weeks of filming!

Surely the same can be done for Wolverine.

how weird....

maybe the have other big plan for the first images... who knows?

I'm very surprised Fox won't have Wolverine or Dragonball, two of their biggest films next year, at Comic Con this year.

I don't think Fox is anywhere on the schedules, angamb. Maybe Marvel themselves will debut artwork or something, but idk.

as I've said, maybe Fox has another interesting plan for the teaser and poster, I mean, another event.

I doubt we all have to wait to september to see something...

It's irrelevant because Hulk vs. Wolverine and Wolverine and the X-men which are the most important :) will be screening this year.

Hopefully, something will be revealed during or soon after Comic-Con, even if it's just a teaser poster.

Question: does anybody know what happened to the "I have a source..." thread? Did Fox ask SHH to delete it?

Oh, what a surprise. More lameness at Comic-Con, courtesy of 20th Century Fox.

What is up with these people and the 'Con? They pulled this same stunt with AVPiece of Poo. It's starting to get ridiculous how uncoordinated they are.

A similar thing happened prior to the release of The Last Stand. I don't know if anyone remembers, but a thread appeared via a new user, revealing production woes and other supposed tidbits of insider information, such as Halle Berry's contractual demands. After a few posts, the thread was almost immediately deleted.

Fox hiding the internal problems.....

They are watching us :hoboj:

:woot:

I remember that. Was that the same person who posted photos claiming she worked for Fox, then she really didn't?
