Wonder Woman cameo in MoS?

They really want to get Wonder Woman going in some capacity, both her and Supergirl. That was one of Diane Nelson's big goals. Not sure if it will be television or on film, it's a tough sell.

Maybe it will just be nods like the "Gotham" line in Superman Returns.

I hope this isn't true. I'm pretty cynical about a shared DC universe on film. If it is true it wont ruin MOS for me right away but I would greatly prefer this is just some silly rumor.

yeah...because we all know how bad that turned out for marvel and the avengers.....stupid cameos.

If they're determined to start promoting an expanded DC universe, the safest route would be to do it via a mid/post-credits scene.

1) Filming wrapped months ago

2) Snyder said the film was self-contained, and Justice League is a separate thing

3) This is coming from CBM, notorious for fabricated rumours

Exactly. Those who are offended by the idea of including other heroes in a Superman movie can simply leave when the credits roll.

And we know that these extra scenes can be filmed quickly and cheaply. Plenty of time to add a short effects-free scene. Not that I want them to, but its certainly doable over the next 9 months.

Also, if the suits want this to happen, Snyder's feelings are irrelevant. Frankly, he's lucky to such an auspicious gig in the first place given his track record. If the movie is a huge hit, he will have more say in these matters, but for now hes a hired gun.

They aren't going to put in these kind of cameos until that have actors to announce. They won't have actors to announce until they have a script.

Wonder Woman isn't a tough sell when she is taken seriously as a character. The Animated Movie was perfect.

Supergirl is more complicated. It shouldn't be but they overthink it.

what is crazy is WB has a brilliant director in Nicolas Winding Refn(Drive,Bronson) who badly wants to do a WW movie yet they are not budging it seems lol

Ugh...I don't want to see Supergirl anywhere near the big screen for as long as possible. Or on any screen really. I like her enough in the comics but would hate to see a live action version of it. Especially when there's Superman around.

Wonder Woman? Bring it on! Long overdue.

They don't have faith in Refn yet. They gave him "Logan's Run" instead.. which seems to not be moving very fast.

Though I wasn't a fan of the stuff Refn proposed.

And Supergirl? Won't happen. It doesn't surprise me Diane Nelson at DCE wants these, but Warner Bros won't let these films happen.

well they need to take a chance on him

they went with big name directors like singer(Xmen,X2) and Campbell(Casino Royale) and they did'nt work out well

if they took a chance on nolan who had memento and insomnia then why not refn

Snyder said that his Superman wouldn't be part of the Justice League film but if you listen to him at Comic-Con he said they are trying to get Superman's house in order and then who knows what will happen. So it is highly possible that Man of Steel is the start of a shared universe

Just a simple line or reference toward WW would be awesome in itself (since she and soo many DC heroes/characters have not had any big screen presence or reference in years...or at all). Personally though, I'd love to hear some kind of hint of Nolan's Batman/Bruce Wayne, since Nolan is connected to this film. Most likely won't happen, but a girl can dream. :woot:

How does Snyder's "who knows" comment equate with "highly possible" ?

Robinov said himself they don't even have a plan yet.

They hope to figure it out over the next few months.

He said that a year ago.

Why? Superman should be irrelevant when thinking about a Supergirl movie. First thing first, when they think a Supergirl movie they think 'Origin'. There is no reason to do that. They could do a Supergirl/Batgirl team up movie and consolidate the brand recognition. They could do Supergirl and the Legion because Supergirl has always done better with the Legion than she has in contemporary stories because of Superman. Superman should have no restriction on the use of Supergirl, just like Batman should have no restriction on the use of Robin.

As for Wonder Woman. The problem Warner have is obvious. Wonder Woman is a feminist icon and if they degrade her they are in serious trouble but they want the male demographic and they think that they have to overdo her sexuality to pander to that which will degrade her to feminists. Just look at the atrocity of an outfit to Adrianne Palicki, that was from a themed porno. They think that if they put Diana in armour and smear her face with mud and blood she will be considered to masculine and threatening for a male audience. Its insulting to men as well as women. We constantly ask, if you can do Clash of the Titans why can't you do Wonder Woman? Simple answer, WB think they have to treat Diana differently as a lead because she is a woman. Sexism has been why we haven't had a Wonder Woman movie and its not the obvious kind, its cultural sexism which is sadly more accepted.

Also, Diana has the problem of ethnicity. She is not a WASP and Hollywood has problems with leads who have a little colour and a foreign accent. This is why I wish fans would quit suggesting white American girls as Diana. She's from a Mediterranean island, why would she be a pale woman with an American accent? Lauren Faust addressed this with Wonder Girl in her shorts, her Wonder Girl is most definitely Greek in colour, culture and skin. If I had my way Steve Trevor would crash on the island and be met with all these women speaking ancient Greek. Diana would rattle through ancient languages to see which one he understood before landing on an old English and she would learn modern English from there. There is no reason Diana should know English if she has been stuck on an island cut off from the world.

You know, there was a Wonder Woman cameo in Alex Ford's MAN OF STEEL script, way back then. That was pretty cool. Maybe something similar could work here.

It's not sexism per say. It's the inability to market the movie with a female lead. They probably envision an over the top budget for WW, just like Green Lantern.

And especially after GL's failure, WW's chances are much less realistic.

She's either going to debut with Justice League, or never.

Wonder Woman movie could be done right but I don't think she should be shoehorned into MoS.

Big no to a Wonder Woman cameo from me.

"who knows" is a far cry from what he was saying last year which was "NO"

Oh he didn't say 'no' last year.

He's all for JLA. He just wanted it as a separate thing with a different Superman.
