I'm sure I speak for a few people on the forums here, working at Marvel would be pretty fun and awesome! So has anyone here worked at Marvel? If so what was it like? What jobs did you have to do, what were the pros and cons etc. thanks!

Go work for DC, much better!!! :yay:

Working at one of these companies probably isn't as fun as you'd think it is.

My grandson Stan says he likes working there......

I've had this idea as of late to get into digital animation and special FX so I cold try and get a job with ILM or some other big firm doing the Marvel movies. Would be so awesome

I can't imagine how much of a headache it would be to try be the lore master there, especially recently. DC would be worse though, "We're rebooting. You're fired."

It's probably not all it's cracked up to be.

One of my college friends was a Marvel intern (out in their NYC offices) back in 2010. It took him FOUR tries to get the internship by the way. From what I saw from his Facebook posts and from what he told me it seemed like it was awesome. He got to meet a lot of comic book artist and see stuff normal fans wouldn't see. Like rare Stan Lee and Jack Kirby stuff and over heard some Marvel movie info. One of his task was to monitor fan reaction to Iron Man 2 so he visited a few messages boards ( SHH included). And he was a member here prior to his Marvel internship. But as the case with the community here , every one challenged him when he said he was a Marvel intern. He posted info and one pic of the office but people were jerks to him and he hasn't been back since. But that Marvel Internship helped him a lot as he now lives in Los Angeles and has done some BIG stuff. I occasionally frequent the Disney careers page and jump on anything marvel related.

Monday through Tuesday our task was to shave Joss Whedon straight down/ front and back, we do this every week. Although, we bathe him only once a week.

Wednesday-Thursday: We all go shopping for high heels for Mr. Downey. If he went with your choice, it only gets you a 10 dollar gift card to Subway.

Friday- Casual for the most part. Scarlett brings over her dirty undies for all the interns to wash and fight over. Aaron Taylor-Johnson use to come in every friday and practice his russian accent, but God only knows why he practiced with an old mexican man who spoke no lick of english or russian.

Hemsworth is suppose to come in on monday to help shave Joss, but he sends his brother instead. He still thinks we can't tell the difference, but Whedon won't bring it up. Ruffalo and Evans take their meetings over at Carl's Jr and won't come into the office. Jeremy Renner is the first one come in and last one to leave, but no one really cares.

It would be fun to be the social media manager for marvel I reckon

I wanna do like all the big writers and artists and work for both.
For a fan of a Hasbro product and action figures, I think you will enjoy working with them more than you would either publisher.

Different strokes for different folks.
You might enjoy working there more than he would. ;)

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!
excellent!

i think working for MARVEL in the 70's when Stan, Kirby and Perez was there bouncing ideas off each would have been a HOOT and great as hell !!now not sop much i dont as with alot of places its more corporate and probably not that fun.

If you stick to the rules of the MCU (everything must be a Iron Man), then yes. If you wanna replicate an Oscar film without the actual substance of one, then DC. :p

I enquired about what it was like working in that type of environment via some contacts I made several years ago and from an illustration perspective I was told it's not as glamorous as many artists may dream it to be. At the end of the day it's still just a job with their own set of guidelines so it's not that surprising to hear that.

Shoutout to being the personal assistant to Kevin Feige!

I dunno, but I did a double feature of Ant-Man and MI5 today and on this viewing of Ant-Man, I noticed someone credited with "Marvel documentary." I'm assuming that means the person who shoots all the BTS material. THAT job, I would love.

Of course it has strict guidelines, a business like that with product being prepared 3 months ahead of release date (word taken from comic creators and editors) is hard.
But I figure it's like any job, if you know how to have fun, and who to sit with, you can have plenty of fun.

If I was a billionaire, I´d buy Hasbro, then make proper movies of beloved characters, not this garbage we´re currently seeing. :mnm:
