So I uploaded my fan edited Wolverine teaser trailer to Youtube, one of the comments was this;

melliexo (4 hours ago) Show Hide

When the Wolverine movie comes out look for the WW2 beach scene. Its filmed at my local beach.

The scene could just be one of Wolverine random memories throughout the film. I doubt it will be a big scene in the movie.

It would be pretty cool if we saw another Marvel character cameo in this scene. Maybe Nick Fury or Captain America?

Now that Marvel has full rights to those characters i wonder if they would really want to lend them to Fox?:o

Hopefully not. I wouldn't want to see Fox's take on the Cap.

Maybe they can show his shield in the sand or something, lol.

True, but with Marvel characters appearing together in various cartoons and videogames there could be a chance. Though that chance is probably only slightly better than a snowball's chance in hell.

Either that or the copyrights to the various characters allow for the loopholes of cartoons and videogames, or at least those incarnations.

FF Rise of the Silver Surfer is loosely based on the Ultimate Extinction storyline so Tim Story and co. tried to get Nick Fury in that film. But they couldn't get the rights for him. So that's one of the reasons why i think we shouldn't really expect him or Cap America show up in Wolverine.

Can't use Nick Fury... Marvel updated him to modern day.... but PLZ MARVEL let Fox put a Cap cameo or at least a mention of the guy... this has GOT to be a WW2 scene. The script must have been changed... works a heck of a lot better than freaking high school football players being bullies. Wolverine in WW2 is ****ing awesome.

I wouldn't want them to get rights to cap or fury! So no but i'd gladly take another invader... Torro or original human torch perhaps? Blazing skull maybe? miss America? Whizzer?

I would prefer the X-Men remain in their own universe. No more cameos please.

He's got the Wolverine chops, not a full beard. Look at the first pic that ant posted:

Yeah you are probably right... I'll go back and edit. Anyway I'm all for it. Wolverine should have WW2 history and yes... it SHOULD be linked to Marvel's universe. Keep in mind none of the major Marvel films really contradict or deny the existence of each other. Spiderman MIGHT exist in the X-Men world as could the Fantastic Four. We just don't hear about them. Besides Marvel will need to include mutants eventually into their universe. While they can't cameo Cap... at least put a picture of him somewhere. Sort of like the Uncle Sam "I want you" picture.

The X2 crew tried to make a nod at Iron Man. Some of the sets featured the Stark Industries logo on them. I don't think the logo actually made it on the film though

Hopefully they can throw in some sort of nod towards Cap.

So what exactly is the timeline again? Wolverine is a young WW2 vet.... obviously must have realized he is a mutant that doesn't age at some point... goes home to Canada. Spends about twenty years there (maybe does some Vietnam work in between)... then retires to Canada. Then is contacted by Stryker in the 70's or early 80's and take it from there?

I actually discussed this possibility in the Iron Man forums. It doesn't seem completely out of the question to have a cameo by Cap or Nick Fury. Marvel owns the rights to these characters, maybe they'd be able to convince FOX to help sell the idea of one complete Marvel universe. I mean Marvel does have some say into the final product of films based on their characters.

I think we'll see Sony do that before Fox. Unless Marvel gives a hefty bribe to Fox.

But Sam Jackson is playing Nick Fury in the modern movie Marvel universe. He's only 60 years old. He'd have been only a baby during WW2. Unless they go with a white version of Nick Fury... and explain that he was the original Nick Fury. And then explain in future Marvel films that Sam Jackson was the predecesor to the original Nick Fury and that all these guys running the head of the SHIELD take the name of Nick Fury. Not the craziest thing I have ever heard but pretty silly nevertheless. Captain America, a mention... anything... would be amazing. But as long as they explain that Logan served for many years in the US army during WW2 I can just assume that these characters could have possibly co-existed in the Marvel movie universe at some time. And I honestly wouldn't mind a white Nick Fury anyhow. Hopefully we'll see those three together at some point in a film. Captain America 2 or something.

I added this latest news to my blog earlier. I didn't use any pix of the actual filming though, as those were taken without authorisation and I was advised against it. The pix of Jackman chatting were okay for me to use.

Everyone in my office kept asking 'How come he is in WW2?' so i added in some backstory from the comicbooks to explain why he MIGHT be there.

We won't see Cap or Fury because Marvel Studios own them, unless Fox is willing to pay more royalties to them. Maybe there'll be a little nod or joke, but nothing as obvious as the cameos or backstories (SHIELD, supersoldier formula) in Iron Man and Hulk.
