I think Karl Urban would have been an amazing choice if this was 5-6 years ago but he's getting too old, same feeling with Jim Cavziel.

I too would either go Matt Bomer or Richard Madden (if his american accent is flawless) as the front runners imo.

Too much fame. People would see the actor and not the character he is playing.

I like Bomer as an actor in general, but he is just too boyish, petite, and playful to convincingly play someone like Superman or Batman to me. Even his Superman in Unbound was surprisingly snarky.

I just read Jake Gyllenhaal as someone's guess to play the new Batman.
The more i think about it, the more i like it.
He's 32, he was David Goyer's first choice and runner-up for Batman Begins, and he's a great actor. He's got that suave playboy look, and I've seen his films and know he can have the intensity to play Batman.
