Would anyone like to see a postscript action scene in the Marvel movies?

Would anyone like to see a postscript action scene in the Marvel movies that comes after the main climax? Don't be confused. This wouldn't be a hidden post-credit scene but more like the scenes you used to typically find in a James Bond movie where there is still some villain or henchman lurking after the main villain has been defeated. Examples are From Russia With Love, Diamonds Are Forever, Live And Let Die among others.

It's where the hero lets his guard down and, along with him, so does the audience. Then suddenly another villain attacks and the hero has to spring into action again for an encore performance.

I wouldn't mind seeing that technique employed in a Marvel movie. Obviously not all, and it would have to fit the plot and tone. However, they didn't do that in every Bond movie either, so when it does happen it is cool.

I also wouldn't mind seeing a pre-credits scenes with the hero fighting a completely different villain mostly unrelated to the main plot, but that's another story.

You mean like, let's say in the Daredevil reboot movie the main story features him in the middle of a gang war between the Kingpin and the Owl and after defeating them, the Hand were to attack Matt Murdock at his home setting up for a sequel or more like after defeating the crime bosses, the Punisher shows up in an attempt to kill them but DD stops him first?

(EDIT)

After re-read the initial post I think you mean it more like let's use Wolverine this time.Wolverine resolves his vendetta with the Silver Sumuri over (I forget her name at the moment) and then toward the movie's end she and Wolverine were about to get married until somebody unrelated the main part of the movie who hates mutants invades the ceremony. Is that along the lines of what you mean?

Pre-credit scenes or "James Bond openings" are something I'd like to see consistantly in namely Spider-Man films due to him having so many enemies that might not be able to carry a film but would make great action scenes. Rhino, Shocker and a few others that come to mind.

I think the basic idea has some merit, but it probably doesn't belong in the Avengers movie, say. A post-script scene has the potential to be anti-climactic and detract from the progress of the movie; think the finale of the Ang Lee Hulk film.

So, not necessarily a bad idea for someone like Spider-man, probably not a good idea for Avengers.

The finale of the Ang Lee film is not a good example though. That is too long and drawn out to get to the actual battle. The example to look at IS James Bond, and the films I've cited. Those are short and not another 20-30 minutes. They aren't anti-climactic because they're just a small encore.

I never mentioned the Avengers. It can work in an individual film though.

It can be someone you think has died/ was captured earlier in the movie, so not necessarily unconnected to the film. That's the way it was done in Bond.

I think an encore could be cool. A little risky with something so high in FX, though. It's a much bigger investment to make happen for so little payoff. What's more, with so many interconnected movies, the question becomes what does the scene lead into? Or perhaps that could be a nice lead in, where we see secondary characters and shield agents pass from film to film, giving an explicit connectivity and continuity between the MCU.

It has merit, but it's no mean feat.

I want Blade to show up in a post-credits scene.

A denouement would be a waste of time.
A brief post-credit scene that sets up Avengers 2 would be okay, since Marvel is already famous for that, and since a post-cred scene is non-intrusive to the main film.

Why are people talking as if I suggested this for The Avengers? Is this posted in the Avengers forum? I'm talking about individual Marvel movies, and it doesn't need to be in every film.

Cuz Avengers is on their mind and we don't read. :)

I could see it working for a movie like Nick Fury Agent of SHIELD. Credits end. Fury and SHIELD have just defeated a Hydra cell and their terrorist plot. Its been a long weekend for Fury and he goes home to relax. He sits on couch and turns on TV. and then all the power to his house turns off and Fury turns around and his place is under attack from AIM agents.

Is something like that along the lines of what you mean?

I could also see this working in a Hulk movie. Like in the Ang Lee Hulk where at the end he is in the jungle and is being threatened and his eyes turn green but then the camera shows a zoomed out shot of the jungle and we hear the Hulk scream.
But instead we don't zoom out. Maybe we find Banner drifting in hiding and he is in some diner or something and the place gets attacked by Absorbing Man or some bad guy and then Bruce turns to the Hulk and leaps at him... END.
