Well, you know, Peter is married with a model and I have thougth about that. Then, I thought, would Peter had married/started to be with an 'ugly' girl, if he thought she is nice and clever etc. it's almost just luck he's married with a model. Well, what do you think?

I'm not really sure about this, I vote some other day.

But the thing is Peter's personality and the way he thinks.

Edit: don't say this is useless topic, this is about Peter's personality.

He is the same as everyone, he'd have to be attracted to the girl and also like her as a person. Dont forget it all depends on the taste of the person of whats ugly and what isnt.

No, because Pete is a mutha ****in P-I-M-P! From what we know, Gwen, Black Cat, and Mary Jane are all very attractive women (according to the comics), so he probably has some high standards, and rightfully so. Why settle for less when you don't have to?

Well, the drawers want to draw beautiful bodies ;) .

"Artists", "pencillers", but... "drawers"? They're artists, not underwear! :p :p :D

Either way, it's a moot point, because unattractive women are incredibly rare in comics.

What Cyclops said. Peter married MJ who was originally a good looking girl who was drawn to be a fire cracker and an actress (quite common in NYC, really) but right around the time eshe came back and they started writing and prepping her as a deeper character they made her into a model. Since then it has been "retconned" as she is back to small time acting again (or Off-Broadway small stardom anyways).

But Peter married such a gorgoeus woman because ALL COMIC BOOK WOMEN ARE DRAWN IN SUCH UNREALISTIC FASHION. Peter never dated an ugly girl. Gwen was gorgeous, BC was sexy (before they turned her into a **** but even then she was obviously drawn with an amazing body), and so on. All comic book love interests in all comics are drawn as drop dead gorgeous.

So the complaint used that the marriage doesn't work because she is too bhot to be married to Peter doesn't work as even if she died and we got 6 lame issues of emo-Peter before Joey Q maekes him forget ALL about her, he'll then be dating women (probably starting with the BC) again that look wayy too good to be true, and there is a reason for this too though.

Yeah I mean even Jonahs women is drawn as sexy, usually you are only drawn as unattrictive if you're old Aunt May, Aunt Anna women that worked at the Daily Grind etc.

TOK - Just a guess... English is not your first language, is it. That's ok. I'm very impressed with bi-lingual folks. (Of course, if I'm wrong... go get a dictionary, and pay attention in class.)

While "chemistry" is important, what triggers that attraction is more complicated than just good looks. People with moral character (like Peter) tend to be attracted by WHO people are, what they value, how they act... which can make someone PHYSICALLY attractive to you.

Remember what Peter said about Mary Jane... he was VERY attracted to her at first, but was quickly put off by her "I just wanna have fun" attitude. He said "MJ is as pretty as a pumkin seed but just as shallow." (Of course, he later found out there was more to MJ than he thought...) So, Peter obviously cares about more than looks.

I've dated your classic hunky guy... but he also went to my church and loved dogs. I was also ga-ga over a guy who wasn't nearly as cute (or built) but who was very creative and sweet... and owned a sucessful resturant.

Face it, Peter/Spider-Man isn't the best looking, or best built guy... but because of his personality and character - in the fantasy world of comics - to me, there's no one hotter! ;)

Two words: Debra Whitman. With his mighty pimp hand, Peter slapped that ***** to the curb. Why? Cause she wasn't attractive enough.:spidey:

Wow... clueless AND crude!

Actually, it was Debra's weak personality that made them a bad match - NOT her looks.

I'm good at English too... but it's the only language I speak. Hats off to you for learning another language! Where are you from?

Others are right... the artists and writers wouldn't give Peter an "ugly" option to choose from, but he clearly values MORE than looks.

People are attractive from the inside out. Meaning, a "beautiful" person can become ugly if they are selfish and mean... while a funny talented, generous, sweet person can become attractive to others, even though they are physically "plain." :)

Gert from Runaways is pretty unattractive.

The thing folks have to remember with comic book art is that it's generally a simplification. There are few artists who have say, Alex Ross level of detail, and even he couldn't put out a monthly title with the type of detailing he does.
So- An artist can either make a female character simply pretty or ugly. I mean, look at most "pretty" artists work (Jim Lee, Jonh Romitas Sr. & Jr.)- they all draw pretty much every woman the same. They have to do things like change hairstyles or add accessory details to make them look truly different. The really cartoony artists tend to create distinctive characters only because their styles are so exaggerated to begin with, so they just over-emphasize character traits to make the various characters different.

But as for whether or not Peter would choose an "ugly" girl. I don't think anyone would. I think, regardless of how a woman looks, if you're attracted to her, then she isn't ugly to you.

I think Peter Parker as a character has enough depth however to not make looks the top priority on his list.

I agree completely.

i think it wud be a combo. like peter wudnt be with a girl cuz hes ugly nor wud he be with a girl whose just pretty. in short he doesnt just go for looks alone. m.j and gwen both have a large amount of depth to there characters.

Dragon said it. If yer attracted to th' person, no matter how they look, they're pretty to you. Yer pretty may not be someone else's. Fer example; a lotta models and actresses everyone thinks are sooooooooo hot I just go meh.

A decent looking dude, that has a super athletic build? I don't think Pete would have to settle for an ugly chick.

That's a pretty hard question to answer.
Because in a comic-book even the "ugly girl" isn't really drawn
in an ugly way. Look at peter, he was a nerd, a dork, a loser but he was still drawn in a way that was'nt ugly. He would probably just date a girl that was plain looking. Also, remember that before the spider bite pete had no self confidence. I think he would be drawn to someone who was as shy, or as confident as he was at the time.

Pfft, that's just a cover up. Think about it: Peter and Gwen's relationship ended when she died. Peter and Black Cat broke up cause she brought him bad luck and she was competing against MJ for him. Those are two pretty big reasons for ending a relationship with a hot chick. Then there's Debra. He broke up with her because of her "weak personality"? That's just a way for Pete to not look like a jerk. He could have said, "I kicked that ugly ***** to the curb because she was ugly! I had Black Cat last week dammit! My standards go up, not down!" But he didn't cause he would have sounded like a jerk, and since he is a superhero, he can't be a jerk. And that is why Pete would have never chosen an ugly girl.

Oh, and he is also a mutha ****in P-I-M-P!

If he married an ugly girl it would be so he could feel better about himself. lol. j/k aside you know what they say... There's no such thing as a plastic sugen for personality.

Considering that ugly girls are a rarity in comic books...No, he wouldn't have.

And when there are ugly girls in the comics they are with ugly guys.

Notice...Betty Brant was hot, Gwen Stacy was hot, MJ was hot, Black Cat was hot...notice the amazing parallels there?

I think the only ugly girl that I know of in comics right now, and I'm sure there are more somewhere, but the girl Courtney in Spider-Girl. And notice that she's involved with Moose, the ugly, fat guy who plays football.

I think that despite pete being a great guy and all he's like any other guy. He likes and would want to be with a nice looking girl, afterall, he does have standards. Also, the girls he's been in relationships with have all been pretty good looking and he's also recieved interest from stand alone character girls too. If there's anything that real guys can relate to with peter is, that there is the desire to be with hot looking girls.
