Would Spider-Man 2 have broken the opening weekend record?

Spider-Man broke the opening weekend record, and Spider-Man 3 followed suit five years later.

Had Spider-Man 2 been released on a Friday instead of a Wednesday, do you think it also would have broken the then opening weekend record?

For sure...i mean,it made $96 millions in it's first 3 days while opening on Wednesday and having a Thursday as it's second day.

It's not a stretch to say that it would've made at least $20 more had it opened on Friday.

Quite possibly. I was just thrilled b/c at the time it coincided with my work schedule, so I didn't have to take a vacation day like the first time.
Now that I think about it, didn't they push back the release date b/c of Tobey's back problems? "Seabiscuit" is to blame!
