Sequels Would you even want to see an X4

I voted no. Since X3 turned out to be a disapointment for most people many of them won't bother seeing a fourth movie. Once a movie franchise goes downhill at #3 it goes even further downhill at #4. It happened with Batman, Superman, Jaws and Alien. It's also like the only reasons The Matrix Reloaded and Mission: Impossible 2 made more than their predecessors was b/c a lot of people heard the first ones were great but after they went to see them they were left disapointed. So that's why The Matrix Revolutions and Mission: Impossible 3 underperformed at the box office.

Yes, pending on who they get to direct. If they bring back ratner than no. I love singer, but I think he's done with the series I really wish I could have seen what Matthew Vaughn wanted to do with it at least he was ballsy and actually attempted to go out there and make a great movie instead of your standard action film, but definetely if they get the right guy to helm it someone with real talent.

i think ratner was super ballsy *spoiler* by killing scott, the professor, and jean all in the same movie, i meen come on that takes same big gonads

they should have had a cliff hanger in x3... hmmm and then carry on the story through x4 so Jean doesn't die til the end... but bleh Rothman wouldn't like that either.

I voted yes, but only if they get a new competent writing team and a new director. Ratner rushed things too much IMO.

X3 was kinda meh, but it had a few scenes that shined and that is because of the actors; Ian McKellen (sp?) was awesome as always and Jackman as well did a great job with what I thought was a shallow script. Magneto's final scene in the movie was one of the best.

I felt the Leech story was crap tacked on, and angel didn't get used at all. I still feel they should have had fewer mutants and really only introduced one new major character, Apocalypse. I also half expected Magneto to rip Wolverine's steel out...that is how I would have opened the first quarter of the film.

They made Phoenix just a little too powerful with the mind over matter thing, if she had become so powerful she could have gotten into everyone's head instead of throwing things at them.

And did Rogue really give up her powers? Are we supposed to be led to believe the "cure" wears off or is (i don't want to say who in case someone reading hasn't seen it) that one person cured in the end able to heel theirself (they do become young again in the comics), is that how they were able to gain their power back, or are they saying the power is in us all (that even though they truly became human again because of the cure, the power resides in the mind).

Of the three deaths, one was off camera, another was reversed at the end, and the last was of someone who's name implies resurrection. Not all that ballsy really. Besides, killing Scott was just plain dumb. It's the freakin' Phoenix Saga and you kill Scott in the beginning?!?!

But anyways, yes I would like to see and X4 featuring Mr. Sinister as the villain. Since Mr. Sinister is known to be obsessed with the genes of Scott Summers, it provides an opening to bring back Cyclops and make him finally a useful character (after 3 movies of being a *****). Leave Phoenix and Professor X dead for now. Oh, and GAAAAAAMMMMMMBIIIIIIIIT!!!!!!!

Yes a million times, i would rather see that then any spin off.

:wolverine most definitely - I want more of these films.

I don't need the spinoffs because they will probably water down the series for the average moviegoer.

This is my favourite film series - there are plenty of other series I could do without (ex. Superman was fine at four - we don't need to revisit that series, I don't care who's directing but Reeve will always be Superman and Hackman will always be Lex Luthor).

i would like to see an x-men movie w/o wolverine and jean and the charles

I'd love to seen an X4. There's so many things they can do with the franchise. Apocolypse, Mr. Sinister, Hellfire Club (Great opportunity here in the aftermath of X3), Alpha Flight, etc. There's a lot of potential with the X-Men and if they think global, think of the other heroes in the world that are mutants. Not just in the US, but worldwide.

There's a lot of opportunity here to expand on the world of the X-Men. X3 was great, and shows that there is a lot of life in the franchise.

Not only that, but it also shows a lack of compassion for the material.

i dont think its a lack of compasion, i think he just wanted to seperate the movies from the comics, cause if it is exactly the same u might as well just read the comics. plus ratner hog jipped with this project. the studio rushed him into making it and thus he was forced to do a hack job on it. i say give him another chance and see what he can do with his own story line and what not

Yes but time to move on to a different set of characters and back to X1/2 with more development of a few characters rather then loads of them.

I posted this in another thread, and this is how I feel about the situation. Overall, my vote was "no" because I think there's too many factors going against a good X-Men 4:

I suppose it could work. But I'm really okay with just having 3 movies.

If a 4th one is made, it needs to be done very carefully... because everything has pretty much been wrapped up and concluded with X-Men: The Last Stand, and I don't want another sequel to turn into a retcon fest where they just say "Oh, Cyclops never died! Rogue was never cured! Magneto was never cured! Jean rises again!" and it pretty much just undoes everything that happened in X-Men: The Last Stand and goes overboard with the resurrections and stuff.

Rogue should stay cured. Jean should stay dead.

I could see Cyclops having survived the encounter with Jean. But I think it was pretty convincing the way he died.

However it happened, Magneto obviously wasn't cured. I could see him coming back.

I think the way that a possible X-Men 4 could work, is pretty much make it a direct continuation / expansion upon the battle at Alcatraz. After witnessing what Magneto was capable of with the Golden Gate Bridge and his assault on Alcatraz, Trask now spearheads Project Wideawake, the Sentinel program, to try to prevent any such occurances from happening again (now that Worthington Labs has lost Leech, and can no longer create the cure).

There could be some kind of subplot with Xavier on Muir Island, but I dunno how exactly that would play out. It would be very, VERY, awkward seeing Xavier walking, with a big old beard, instead of the bald guy in the suit, rolling around in the wheelchair. And it wouldn't make any sense to put him back into the wheelchair, since he does have a new body.

This is why I'm very weary of an X-Men 4, because there's too much stuff that could go wrong. They'd be skating on very thin ice, and there would be little room for error. I acknowledge that with the ending of X-Men: The Last Stand, it could possibly work. But I think that a 4th movie would just be a ticking time bomb waiting to blow up in the face of every X-Men fan everywhere.

If it could be done right, and add to the world and story we have (and not just end up as some stand alone story, isolated from the trilogy), and not get stupid with a bunch of resurrections and "they weren't really cured!" angles, I'd love to see it. I'd definatley love to see it over Wolverine and Magneto, as I'm not a supporter of movie spinoffs.

But I'm just really worried with how it will play out, with Cyclops dead, Rogue cured, Beast off in the U.N., Xavier in another body on Muir Island, and Jean dead... too many character arcs have been concluded to really justify a 4th movie, in my opinion. And I don't want to see a 4th movie that just moves on without those characters, just to introduce new characters. It won't feel like part of the same franchise. Just because a comic book can get away with certain things doesn't mean a movie can.

no. retconning is bad enough in comics. I don't want to see them do it in movies to try and fix the mess they made with X3.

I thought X3 was the best one and i think you guys over rate bryan singer at best i would say he is an ok director.

He left X-men for superman and it was a good thing for us X fans.

Wolverine killing Jean was the best part of the entire X triliogy.

Yes there were flaws and it was "rushed" but what do you expect from a director taking over half way through pre-production

There is still a story to be told in X4. There were 2 cliffhangers in X3. I don't care who says no because we would all see it.

Well I'd like to see an X4 because X3 was a big time open ended movie that i cannot ignore.

i think this guys got it right. i meen come on, hey could bring scott back with a mr. sinister plot and that could lead to gambit. how cool would that be. i dont think x3 is the last of x-movies, maybe for awhile it is but not forever

Cyclops coming back because of Mr. Sinister would make no sense.

How would Sinister get to Cyclops? Is he just casually strolling through the woods, collecting microscopic molecules of people he wouldn't even know exist, in the movie-verse?!

NO SENSE WHAT SO EVER!!!

This isn't a comic book. You can't just have people appear so you have justification for your stupid retconning.

CAN I GET A WITNESS! U READ MY MIND DUDE!

1. If there is an X4 Scott should own the movie!
I have nothing against Famke but she shouldn't be in it. I don't care if they focus on the kids in the school Scott could reappear I don't know mayb phoenix sent him someplace safe where she couldn't harm him up in Alaska somewheres.
These are comics /soap opera crap> make something up! They can make it work what would be great is to focus on the kids somehow tie that in with Sinister and the orphanage and hook scott and havok (polaris too) in there.

2. How you can bring in Gambit- gets
involved /indebted to Sinister which somehow gets him tangled up with the Marauders great villans! Angel can be shown too. Didn't the Morlocks kidnap kids doesnt have to be power pack this ime altho they could set that movie up too.they could kidnap xkids (This will lead x5 to include either the Thieves & Assasins guilds or Apocolypse!)

3. Anyways i digress back to my man Scott maybe he'll meet Madelyne and set up X-5 for a goblin Queen! (which can lead to all that crazy Inferno crap and u can recast Jean grey as someone else.and the Fantastic four 2 tie in cuz they found her)

OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOorrrrrrrr
4. Let his love interest be Emma- the school will need a headmaster unless they choose Kelsey Grammer as Beast. He says he wants to come back and everyone I know who's seen it says he was awesome probably one of the coolest things about it. Can anyone come up with a decent treatment for thiese ideas I'm too x-cited by the possibilities?

Would The General Public Care For bringing Cyclops back, and undo his what they did too him in X3 as he really didn't have much Character Developement! how will the general public feel with his return... 'oh look the guy with the glasses is back... what does he do again?' :down
