Now we've already had one sets of films, and one restart but the question is after the new cycle of films conclude, do you want another restart?

I think it would be cool. I love both the Original Batman and Batman Begins but the weird thing is that 'Batmans' flaws are 'Begins' strengths and vice versa. 'Batman' in unrealistic but looks vibrant and fun, 'Begin's' story is strong but the look and feel of the movie is dry.

I think another restart could be interesting. Maybe go balls-to-the-wall and make a small budget (by Batman standards) movie that's 15 or 18 rated.

Begins was almost a perfect Batman movie.

No restart is necessary for this movie.

'Begins' was a great movie, but i don't see it as an 'almost perfect' Batman movie through my own personal opinion. But i just would LOVE to see and R-Rated Batman flick where he truly is a dark, conflicted menancing SOB and then you could have the Joker as the villian, and have him be a twisted psycho and on-screen sadistic and violent character.

R-rated movies are rarely box office gold, that's why movies that are produced with an eye on hundreds of millions of dollars of revenue are usually not R-rated.

And that's why this is just a fun little 'what if' Thread on a fan message board lol :O

I wouldn't want one happening in the next 20~30 years but I have a feeling they will go with a restart when our grandchildren are old and mature enough to watch a batman movie. I wouldn't mind going to the theatre with my grandchildren to watch it... and if it does suck major balls, I can always rub it in their faces saying that we were there in the theatre to watch a better version decades ago

Naturally, as long as it adds something previous movies didn't have.

Very true in almost every important aspect.

James Bond-like franchise-God yes!!!

You mean changing the actors, forget about the continuity and the passing of time? Isn't that kind of what we had with the previous franchise?

That's what we have in the comic books too. Don't confuse Schumacher's movies with Batman movies.

Why not just bring in a director with a different vision to make a trilogy set after Begins? I mean, I understand and empathize with your problems regarding BB, but to restart the whole thing for that reasoning is too heavyhanded, IMO.

Bingo.

A restart would be pretty dumb. I see restarts suggested so often these days it's begun to really annoy me. People want one for X-Men, Spider-Man, Superman, Hulk, everything! The only reason we got a Begins restart was because Batman's origin story had never been told, so there was something to spring a restart off from. Also, every villain the previous franchise did is open enough to reinterpretation to allow for something completely different a second time around. Think about it, we had a Bob Kane Joker last time, we can get a modern Joker this time. We had a freak Penguin last time, we could get a toned down, arms dealer Penguin this time. Two-Face and Riddler were giggling maniacs, we could see a tragic Two-Face and a BTAS-like Riddler, much more reserved and cerebral. Very few heroes are in the same condition. I guess Doc Ock could be different enough if done more like his comic counter-part, but Goblin was spot on enough that another Spider-Man vs. Goblin movie would probably be identical to the first Spidey movie.

I really doubt we'll ever see a situation like Batman Begins for a very, very long time. Especially not for Batman again!

If anything do it Superman Returns style. If the cast and crew decide to call it quits, wait a few years, then pick up where the last franchise left off with a new cast and an updated vision. Since there'll be a break in time, people will be more forgiving of recasts.

The X-Men are probably very likely to get a restart simply because half of the cast was killed off in the last movie. Not to mention anything close to an origin has never been done for them.

no.

Begins is perfection. and though i don't think ANYONE could ever top "never touch another mans rhubarb" and "this town needs an enema!", i can not deny the superiority of the story telling in Begins.

Eventually. But after this saga has run its course and enough time has elapsed.

There is no need for a restart. You can do flashabacks of The Waynes murdered, but I don't see going back for the origin story with the death of the Waynes, training, etc.
Although a little part of me wants to see Batman: Year One as a film, although parts of it were in Batman Begins.
But I really see no need to retart, just continue on with the movies.
