Would you want to see Lou Ferrigno back as the Hulk?

I noticed that the Incredible Hulk tv series is a big cult favorite among fans. I've read on other message boards that some people wanted Lou Ferrigno to come back for the new movie. One poster on the imdb boards mentioned that he would like to see a remake of the tv series pilot. Do you think that a concept like this would work? Personally, I can't see how Ferrigno would fit in a big-budget movie like this. I don't mean any disrespect to Ferrigno or to his fans, but I think that he would be too old for the role (although he is still in great shape) and he just wouldn't be able to stand out. He would just be a bodybuilder in green paint and it just wouldn't be the true hulk to me. The concept was great back on the tv series, but I don't think it would work today.

Supposedly he's doing the voice. It would be awful if they just painted him green. CGI would look much better.

CGI is the only way to go. Ang Lee wasn't wrong.

The more of your post I see, the more I like you.

I've been a fan of Lou since a kid, love the TV series, have met Lou on several occassions.......but let's move past this suggestion please, as it is just too silly.

I think CGI is the best thing to use for a Hulk movie. A actor playing the role of The Hulk just doesn't meet my expectations of a Hulk movie. An actor seems much more limited to certain feats that could be accomplished with CGI.

The Hulk series was fine in the 70s but it looks like crap now. LF is still a huge man but he's basically the size of one of the Hulk's legs. CGI is the only way to go for both Hulk's look and abilities. Lou can be involved but not as the painted up Hulk.

I wouldn't mind seeing him as Joe Fixit.

No, the CGI Hulk is the best way fans can see an uncomprimised, non watered down Hulk.

Joe isn't that much smaller that Savage or Prof. CGI would still be nedded.

Not in any was shape or form, i dont even want him doing the voice.

I would like to see Lou Ferrigno be the Hulk again just to see what FX people can do with him in 2006. But not in the new movie. Maybe a TV Special or a DVD extra in a new boxset.

BTW, Lou doing the Hulk's voice was only a joke made by Louis Leterrier at Comic Con.

I dont suppose I would mind seeing Lou as the Incredible Hulk in a tv commercial, or something like that. But in a movie? No. I love Lou's Incredible Hulk. I grew up watching that show. And I still think it's great. But we have to move on. I personally loved Ang Lee's approach with the CGI. The CGI Hulk was awesome. And I felt those guys did a superb job in making the Hulk as realisitic as they possibly could.
