You know the Wizard world footage? I would be completely okay if that was released as the Theatrical Trailer.

anywho, this will probably be moved to the non-spoiler section soon.

yea but it gave too much things away, like twoface being in TDk, I hope they keep two-face as lowprofile as possible with the marketing. Otherwise people will be dissapointed cause we all know twoface will only be there for like 1 or 2 scenes. Just like i was dissapointed with archangel in x-men3 they marketed him like if he was main character status when in the film he was only in it for like 2 scenes.

two face ww scene will be like venom cc footage not seen til the very end of the last trailer or a seperate trailer all 2gether.

-Darkness
-A voice over of Gordon begins: "No fingerprints...."
-Show a man being taken down a dark corridor, handcuffed, escorted by Gordon in a SWAT vest.
-Voice over continues: "no tags, no ID...."
-Show a man sitting in an intergation room.
-Voice over continues: "nothing....."
-Shows Gordon and a police officer watching Joker through the window of the inttergation room. The police officer turns to Gordon and says: "Who is he?"
-Show a shot of Joker look up at the camera, and slowly smiles at the camera.

-Darkness
-WB symbol/Legendary symbol
-Show a wide shot of Gotham
-Show Harvey giving a political speach: "Criminal's like Falcone were only the begining, we will rid Gotham of the organized crime that has chocked this city for so long! I believe in Gotham!!!!" Shows people cheering at his rally.
-Show Rachael introducing Harvey to Bruce Wayne:
Harvey: Rachael has told me so much about you Mr. Wayne.
Bruce: I sure hope not.
-Show quick shots of Batman fighting thugs.
-Alfred and Bruce are in the "Bat-Garage"
Alfred: You are hiding in this monster you have created, you can't stop evil. This Joker will not stop until one of you is dead!!
Show Bruce with an angry look on his face.
-Now we see quick shots of the Joker crashing Bruce's fancy party, shots of the chase sequence, shots of the Batpod. Shots of Joker dancing with Rachael. We hear the Joker's voice over: "The party doesn't really start until the clown arrives!!!!"
Then we really go to quick flashes of explosions, the Joker Semi tipping over, and Batman beating up Joker in the intergation room.
-The last shot is the Joker picking up a hand held camera talking to it: "I believe in Gotham too!!!" Then he hystericaly laughs.
-Boom: Title Card appears: "THE DARK KNIGHT"

Just something I quickly through together. Not the best, but it would be kinda cool.

Hmm, this threads a bit dead.

I'd love to write my trailer description but I really have no thoughts left in me to write such a masterpiece :D

Or, I just suck really badly.

The Dark Knight

2008

I had a Joker one floating around here somewhere. Maybe it was in the old trailer description thread.

Here it is from memory. And I chose an axe instead of a sledgehammer(and I thought of this idea way before it was said that certain plot leak)

Fading in and a close-up on the Bat-signal, lit up and in all it's shining glory. Start to pan back very slowly away from it. Then, from above, an axe comes right down into the center, shards of metal and glass fly into the camera. The camera pans back a few more seconds, then the axe-wielder begins to dislodge it, and as soon as he does so and starts to bring it up, the camera follows the axe. And ontop of the Batsignal, feet on either side of it on the building's ledge, is a man partly shrouded in shadow and in a purple tux. He brings the axe up and rests it on his right shoulder, blade facing up. He smiles and steps into the light a little more, he starts to giggle, then the giggling turns into loud, unsettling chuckling, which in turn transforms into a high-pitched, insane screaming laughter. He jerks the axe up and brings it down into the camera. Fade to black. Then, after a few seconds, fade in "THE DARK KNIGHT"

You know, like a joke for the first trailer.

No offense at all (I'm not a professional trailer maker), but everything you mentioned is so clichéd at this point...it's everything I hate about most modern movie trailers, starting with the "operatic chorus" thing.

:D

Every movie trailer - especially in the action/sci-fi/fantasy genre starts off with a drum pound, some ominous words on a screen, all building up to a reveal or "ta-da"; and then it's another 25 seconds of quick-cut "action" footage, accompanied by that damn opera chorus stuff (every trailer on the planet has that), then it all builds up to some final thing...an explosion or catchy tagline.

Again, not bagging on you at all. The trailer you describe is perfectly fine and there's nothing outright wrong with it. It's just that it's like every other one out there, and that whole approach is becoming as dull and trite as the "In a world..." voiceover we all joke about now.

No, do something fresh and new...something that isn't a direct lift of the "Fantastic Four", "Constantine" or "National Treasure" trailers. Those trailers are hacky and uninspired, IMO.

So played out, that big operatic chorus and the quick-cut build-up...seen it dozens of times in tons of trailers. It does - or means - nothing to me anymore (and I'm the guy who always shows up to movies early to watch trailers because they've always been my favorite part of the moviegoing experience).

But here lately, the past couple of years...it's like the studios are all using the same playbook and template.

:(
