This thread is tailor-made for the biggest discussion of WTFin' glory of 'Spider-Man 3', the atomic-bomb of the 'Spider-Man' franchise which even surpasses Joe Quesada! So, I have a question: WTF was your favourite "WTF?!" moment of 'Spider-Man 3'?

thejon93's "WTF?!" Moment:
The symbiote's first appearance, talk about campy? Look at that $#%@! Can someone please explain to me the exact odds of having somekind of extra-terrestial life-form from outer space suddenly land a couple of feet away from you? I know I can define those odds! Honestly, what the hell were Sam and Ivan Raimi smoking when they proof-read this $#&%? Talk about a major WTFin' coincidence.

wow...well what are the odds that peter parker of all people would get bitten by a genetically enhanced spider?:whatever:

Its a comic book movie..those odds are what these kind of movies are based off of.

Please close this thread. no need for another complaint thread. just go to the I HATE SPIDER MAN 3 THREAD.:whatever:

The butler scene with Harry.

Hey, jimslimbo. Take a hike.

First off, of course he's going to be bit by a radioactive-spider, because we're following the particular character who was destined to get bit by it. There was no need for the symbiote to be there in the first place, they had no idea how the hell to introduce it, so they just threw it into the setting. Now, in a person's life, there is really only one big coincidence that unfolds, Peter being bit by a radioactive-spider, was one.

I don't care if it's a comic-book movie or a goddamn Madonna children's book adaption, I don't care, because the cold-hard fact is that these comic-book films were made to be grounded in reality. I'm a Spider-Man comic-book fan and reader, but I never read the anything of the symbiote time-period, and never will. Why should an audience that ain't familiar with the comics(or those which it's based off of) have to take that? They couldn't simply cut out the Emo-Peter, 'Saturday Night Fever' sequences to give us some sorta background? 'Cause that would've been nice.

And finally, this ain't technically a "Hate" thread. Every movie has it's flaws, this thread is meant to show them. Just like Batman forums have a "Biggest Disappointment" thread for 'The Dark Knight'. Some may hate the movie(I've only met one person so far), but a lot of them don't, they just found there to be problems in the mix.

(P.S. Totally agree with you, Joker. That "Butler Scene" was horrendous. If he knew that Spider-Man/Peter didn't kill his father, why didn't he tell him to begin with? Did he not notice that Harry was losing his mind over the thought that Peter could've killed his father? Give me a break. Big "WTF?!" moment.)

When I saw venom, he didn't have no muscles, no tounge hanging, no spit. That's the venom I love and wanted to see. Also when harry & peter teamed up

I wasn't a Venom fanboy at the time when I heard of him being in the movie, but, I heard a lot of people replying on how cool of a villain he is and how he would be a great addition to the franchise... sure, they had a chance. But they sure didn't make the best of it. Harry and Peter team-up was bad:o

WTF? How could they drop the ball on Harry's arch as a tragic hero. I did not care about Venom (I think he needs his own movie), I did not care about Sandman I wanted to see Harry's downfall. I wanted to see a movie that focused more on Harry because thats what the first two set up for. Ah, now I don't know what they'll do, they killed off all the best villains what's in store for the future?

You make a good point about Harry being killed off like that. Too be honest, the film was too cluttered with storylines, backstories, characters, etc, that I forgot all about the fact that Harry should've been the real main villain in this, instead, it just turned into a junk-pile of garbage:down:

When Peter Parker became the emo version of Frank Sinatra. Seriously, wtf are you thinking Raimi? I can understand putting humor into the story, but make it spider-mans quips, not him dancing. C'mon!

The Butler scene was my top WTF moment, but I now accept it because it's the only way for the harry/peter team-up to occur, which is a whole other issue.

Although forgiveness is a theme in the movie, you couldn't have harry "forgive" Peter if Peter didn't actually kill Norman. He had to learn the truth in order to get the intended end Rami wanted.

However, the writers could at least have added lines between harry & the butler suggesting the butler tried to tell harry earlier but that harry wouldn't listen, or something like that.

Otherwise, my major WTF moment(s) is generally how Brock knows who MJ is & where she lives, knows "spider-sense" & "tiger" phrases, & knows about Sandman's family, & how the taxi & dump truck got into the web.

Also, how harry disappears after blowing up the giant Sandman while Venom beats on Peter.

when venom died was the ultimate #1 WTF? Moment, cuz venom NEVER took a beatin from spidey in the comics.

How the hell did Alfred get in this movie...!

I guess it was easier for them to wait 'til all other Marvel projects were done and then make this little 5 min scene where everyone gets abducted by the Beyonder and transported into his kick-ass space fortress —or whatever— to make them fight for their lives et cetera et cetera et cetera :whatever:

My biggest WTF moment was probably the American Flag Shot. It was so cringe inducing that it made me want to sink into my seat.

Other contenders:

Harry and MJ cooking/dancing.
Peter as a Jazz loving lesbian.
Peter horrifying girls on the streets during that infamous strut.
Velociraptor Venom.
Deus Ex Machina Butler.
Peter lip-synching like a ****** to MJ's song in the opening.
Peter dancing to the trombones like a ****** during Spider-Day
Jennifer Dugan. "It's hard...to understand...THE BRUTALITY OF IT."
Sandman/Venom team up.

I'm sure there's more :whatever:

this movie was too full of coincidences for his own good. But I think the wtf moment for me was the dancing. I understand what they were up to (show that basically Peter was uninhibited) but it was overdone and cheesy-style.

The other wtf moment for me was the news reporter, I don't know what kind of drugs they were taking when they decided to give her only cliched and re-re-re-re-reused lines. That really threw me out of the battle royale.

Nah, I think that's all of the film. :woot:

You people forget Spiderman Movies are not suppose to be logical, it just needs action. This movie is not Batman Begins, or TDK. It's Spiderman! It's marketed to little kids to buy action figures, and soccer moms. This is not for 40yr old comic nerds.

If you want a realistic Spiderman you will have to wait at least a decade for them to reboot the franchise. Maybe then will they go in a more adult direction, but until then you are stuck with this popcorn fest dribb.

The winks at women in the streets. And the random dancing.

I mean, seriously, what emo does that??

Venom's screen time, I finally get to see my favorite childhood and to date character of all time on the big screen and he has not even a minute of time when he is wearing his mask.
