Open: Interior Xaviers Office, Xian and Storm are standing in front of Xaviers Desk as he talks to them.

Xavier: Due to recent events, I want to have a fall back.
Xian: So you want to use students as guinea pigs?
Xavier: Xian, not as guinea pigs, but as the next generation of X-men.
Storm: Professor, I would have to agree with Xian's feelings on this. We would have to be very picky on who we allowed to join such a team.
Xavier: I already have a team picked out.
Cut to: Jubilee, Rogue and Colossus walking out the front doors of the school. They walk down the steps and stand at the front gate.
Jubilee: Why are we doing this again?
Rogue: Because, we needed some extra curricular stuff on our transcipts. (Pauses) I can't believe I am gonna be off to college in a year.
Peter: Why is that so hard to believe?
Rogue: Four years ago, I was homeless. And now, here I am.
Jubilee: (annoyed) What are these kids names?
Peter: (Looking at a slip of paper) Roberto DaCosta and Jean-Paul Baubier. He's Canadian.
Rogue: Wow we're gettin international now. (laughs)

A taxi cab pulls up in front of the gate and stops. The doors open and Roberto and Jean-Paul step out. Jean's hair is almost white, and Roberto is the first to the trunk.

Jubilee (Whispering) wow cute!
Peter: Yes.
Rogue: That is still kind of weird.
Roberto and Jean walk to the gates holding their bags.
Rogue: (punching in a code on the gate. The gate begins to open) Hello you two and welcome to the Xavier Institute for Gifted Youngsters. We are here to make your transistioning run smoothly.
Jean-Paul: Well if that wasn't a mouthful.
They walk through the gates and Rogue begins to close them. They stop in front of them and Jean-Paul looks up at Peter.
Jean-Paul: God you're a big guy!
They all stop and realize the absurdity of the comment and laugh.

Open to: Emma Frosts office, she is reading the news paper drinking tea. This is her mansion. Go in for a close up of the paper: Erik Lensherr aka MAGNETO is DEAD! She slams the paper down obviously upset.
Cessily/Mercury enters, she is normal looking. Black hair, very pretty.

Cessily: Ms.Frost are you okay?
Emma: Magneto is dead. (Shows her the paper) He was a good friend of mine. He was there for me when I needed it most.
Cessily: I am sorry for your loss.
Emma: Cessily you have always been a very devoted servant, as was your mother. (pauses) But I think it is time we stopped hiding. I know exactly who did this, and I am determined to seek vengence. Be true to yourself Cessily and turn off the inhibitor.

Cessily nods her head and looks at her belt. There is something that looks to be a pager clipped to it. She clicks a button on the side of it and her image flickers and then goes away. In her place she stands, but not the same. She is silver and very fluid looking.

Emma: Mercury, it is recruitment season. And though the brotherhood is disbanded, but the Hellions have just started.

Cut to: Sam, Bobby and Sarah in the rec room. Sam is attractive, blonde hair blue eyes. Bobby almost the same, but a little taller than Sam. Sarah is very attractive with pink hair, and could be normal if it wasn't for the horns protruding from her head and shoulders.

Sam: Sarah is it hard for you?
Sarah: (snidely) If you mean trying to go out in public and hide this, (motions to the bones) Hell yeah. But ya deal with it. But aside from me, I wanna know what's going on with Bobby here and our dear friend Rogue.
Bobby: (smiles and takes a shot. Sarah drapes herself on the back of a couch.) Since Kitty left for college we've been okay. I mean, we wish we could be more, but with her power, (pauses) it's hard.
Sarah: (Laughing) And blue!
Bobby: (laughing) That too. We decided we should just be friends ya know?
Sam: When is Warren supposed to come back?
Sarah: Supposedly he and his dad are trying to fix what they jacked up years ago. I give him a couple months.
Sam: (looking at his watch) We gotta go, two new guys are here and we are part of the welcoming committee.
They all begin to head out of the room.
Sarah: Why did Xavier put me on the welcoming committee anyway? That's like putting Nightcrawler on a welcoming comittee.

Cut to: A dark alley, Cessily and Emma are walking into the alley. Cessily is in a black and dark purple leather outfit and Emma is dressed in white leather pants and a white leather boustier.

Cessily: Ms.Frost, why are we in this alley?
Emma: My dear Cessily, you should learn something called patience. (pauses) We are waiting for our first recruit, your first team mate.

Cessily looks slightly worried. A cat walks out from behind a trash can and looks at them.

Emma: Speak of the devil. (Whispers) Get that cat.
Cessily: Yes ma'am.

It seems that the cat heard Emma and begins to take off. Cessily goes into liquid form and cuts the cat off, going back into solid form in front of it. It spins and heads back towards Emma but stops again. The cat begins to morph into a human, only keeping her tail and feline eyes as well as claws. She spins and faces Cessily, she leaps at her claws ready to rip her apart. Cessily evades everyone of her attacks by being in liquid form, her claws sliding through the liquid.

Cessily: Ms.Frost, do you want me to attack her?
Emma: No, I can stop her. (Emma holds her hand out, and the girls head glows slightly and stops) Sharon, we need to talk.

Cut to: The gymnasium, Xaviers Institute. Rogue, Bobby, Sarah, Sam, Peter, Jubilee, Jean-Paul, and Roberto stand in the middle of the room. They all look slightly clueless.

Jean-Paul: I thought this was supposed to be the welcoming cermony or whatever.
Peter: It's supposed to be. I don't know where the rest of the school is, nor Xavier.

Voice O.S: Starting training session 1.56.87 Toad, Sabertooth, Mystique, Pyro, Arclight, Psylocke, Callisto, Avalanche. Session begin.

Suddenly the gym around them shimmers and turns into New York City.

Roberto: What the hell?
Rogue: You guys I don't like the feel of this.
They get closer together, all of them alert and ready for anything.
Mystique: Stupid fools! The brotherhood is back.
They all turn and find Mystique standing with the others.
Jean-Paul: You guys who are they?
Bobby: Bad guys, get ready to defend yourselves.
Jubilee: (Her hands are sparking) Why, why why why why?

Roberto is suddenly black, with glowing yellow eyes, the air around him glowing slightly. Sarah had a bone spear in her hands. And Peter is in his metallic form.

Open to: The sewers, Cessily and Emma are walking and Sharon is beside them. Emma is explaining everything to her.

Emma: You are a mutant my dear. Not a cat who can morph into a human.
Sharon: I have always roamed in cat form.
Emma: Out of fear, that they will not accept you in this form.

They stop and Emma faces Sharon and holds her face in her hands.

Emma: You are beautiful my child. It is time you too stopped hiding. (Motions to Cessily) Look at her, she doesn't look the way I do, but I believe that regardless of the way you look you should always be true to yourselves.

There is a beat between the three of them.

Cessily: (Clears her throat) If I may ask Madame, what are we doing in the sewers?
Emma: Looking for another team mate of yours. What dear Xavier doesn't know is that I have had access to his computer systems and have a list of mutants I find interesting myself. And if I am correct, Kevin is down here.

They continue to walk, Sharon stops and sniffs the air. She gets a worried look on her face.

Cessily: Sharon what's wrong?
Sharon: I smell death.
Emma: This means he is near, I must warn you both. Do not let him make contact with you, he has the touch of death, literally.

Cut back to the Gymnasium: The New Mutants are still standing in a circle back to back.

Sam: Is this some kind of joke, cuz ah'm not laughin.
Sarah: (Gripping her bone spear tighter) You're not the only one.
Bobby: This is like the danger room.
Rogue: Which means, they CAN hurt you.

Suddenly the ground beneath them begins to shudder. Camera pans over to show that Avalanche is causing the quake. Toad leaps at the group and tackles Sam.

Jean-Paul: (Startled) Crap!

Sam ignites and launches into the air taking Toad with him. A bright flash of light from Arclight blinds the group.

Peter: Get it together you guys!

Rogue blinks several times to clear her vision, she reaches over and touches Jean-Paul, he looks slightly woozy.

Rogue: Just borrowing a little of yer power.

In a blur she takes off running. Roberto releases a plasma blast that knocks Avalanche into the wall. Toad falls from the sky with a thud and Sam wooshes by aiming for a sentinel that has appeared. Sarah leaps into the air and begins to go hand to hand with Callisto and Mystique.

Open to: The sewer still, Cessily, Sharon and Emma are still walking, and Sharon is looking very worried. The hair on her head looks as if it is raised, the way a cats fur fluffs out when they are scared.

Sharon: He is very close, and it is getting hard for me to continue. (Stops and turns to Emma) He is here.

A shadow walks from around a corner and all you can see is his hand in the shot also showing Emma, Cessily and Sharon.

Kevin: What do you want and why are you in my territory.
Emma: My dear Kevin, we have come here for you.

Camera shows Kevin, he is dressed in a black ragged hoodie and jeans. He looks very grungy.

Kevin: This is my home, and I am not going with anyone.
Emma: You might want to change your mind.
Kevin: (Removing his hoodie and gloves) You might wanna change yours.

He leaps into the air and lands in front of them, he does a round house kick and kicks Sharon in the face. He goes to hit Cessily but she liquifies. He spins to hit Emma but stops, his fist inches from her face.

Emma: Put your hand down.

His hand drops.
Kevin: What are you doing?
Emma: What I am good at. (pauses) Now come with us and we will discuss this.

Scene Change: In a viewing room, Xian, Xavier and Storm are watching the New Mutants battle below.

Xian: This is your team?
Xavier: Look at them, they all already know how to defend themselves. Majority of them have been on a few missions with the X-men already.

Camera shows the viewing screen, Colossus is fighting Sabertooth. Screen switches to Marrow. She takes a hit to the face from Mystique and recovers quickly. Screen shows Jubilee, Toad is jumping around her and she is firing plasma blast at him but missing. A blast of ice freezes him in his place, and Jubilee and Iceman high five each other.

Storm: They are quite impressive. They are already working very well as a team.

Screen shows Sunspot firing plasma at Pyro, it is almost a battle of fire. North-Star blurs in behind Pyro and he kicks him in the back, then blurs away to help Marrow with Mystique and Callisto.

Xian: And this is what I have to work with? (Xavier nods) Then I will whip them into shape.
Storm: With the team having to most likely travel to the Shi'Ar home world, we will be gone for an unknown amount of time. They will be the only defense the school has.
Xian: Understood.
Xavier: Computer, end simulation.

Open to: Emma and Kevin exiting a limo in the desert. A sign reveals they are on an Apache reservation in Arizona. Camera shows Kevin has cleaned up and is wearing the purple and black leather outfit as was Sharon and Cessily.

Kevin: What the hell are we doing here?
Emma: (Walking towards a stand) We are looking for someone. (looks at all of the stands by the road) There are too many here, let me scan them all.

Visions flash through her head, and she stops, a vision of James is in her head. He runs with Buffalo, keeping up speed. His older brother leaves with Xavier and news comes of his death. Emma begins to walk towards the stand that James is at and she stops and smiles at him.

James: May I help you?
Emma: Actually, John sent me to help you.
James's eyes grow wide as he stares at her.

Open to: Emma's mansion, Kevin, Cessily, James and Sharon sit before her.

Emma: Basically this proposistion will ensure you financial stability. The Hellfire Club will support you in any of your educational endeavors, the only request is you do our bidding.
Kevin: Like slaves?
Emma: No Kevin, more like assasins.
James: You want us to kill people?
Emma: (smirks) James I did say that John did send me, and in a way he did. Your first mission is going to be dealing with Xavier.

James looks angry, and his fist tightens.

James: I am in then.
Emma: Good, now what about the rest of you.

They all nod.

Cessily: I would be able to go to college. I cannot turn that down.
Kevin: I think anything is better than the sewers.
Sharon: Will you show me how to live as a human.
Emma: I would love to.

Cut to: The gymnasium. Arclight and Jubilee are fighting. Jubilee has her shades pulled down and is blasting her left and right. Suddenly the room around her shimmers and it is suddenly the gym again. They all walk to each other, Roberto and Jean-Paul look a little weirded out. A door opens and Xian walks out.

Xian: Hello students, Roberto, Jean-Paul welcome to the school.
Roberto: That is one hell of a welcoming.
Jean-Paul: That's an understatment.
Sarah: Xian what is going on?
Xian: The X-men are going on a long term mission and need a form of defense for the school.
Peter: What do you mean?
Bobby: I think she means a junior X-men squad.
Xian: Exactly Mr.Drake, we have one week to get your guys up to speed.
She leads them out of the Gym.

Cut to: Emma's Boston Academy again. But this time in a kind of training room, the others are standing there waiting expectantly.

Emma: The Hellfire club has sent over two of their own recent recruits. (The door behind her slides open and two guys walk through it.) This is Manuel, code name Empath and Bevatron. We have one other team member who has yet to arrive. As for now, it is time to play a game of sorts.
Cessily: What do you mean Ms.Frost?
Emma: Take each other out, you will start on opposing ends of the training dome. The blue team is Sharon, Kevin,and Bevatron, The red team is Cessily, James and Manuel.

The group seperates and head to the other sides of the dome.

Emma: (Speaking into a mic) The point is to subdue the other team and retreive the flags from their uniforms.

Open to: Sarah and Bobby is the kitchen both in sleeping gear. They both look exhausted.

Sarah: On hell of a day huh?
Bobby: That is an understatement.

Sarah takes a sip of her hot chocolate.

Bobby: I have been working on creating a kind of armor with my ice.
Sarah: That's awesome.
Bobby: Yeah, I noticed whenever we were in the danger room you would try to cover as much of your body with the bone. I started wondering if I could do it with ice. (He closes his eyes and begins to concentrate. He holds his arms up and frost begins to appear on his arms up to the elbow and then a layer of ice.) This is as far as I can get.
Sarah: Well, at least yer working on it. (she stands) I have been working on something as well. (Closes her eyes, he bones protruding from her begind to shudder and slowly curl back into her body. She begins to sweat and breath heavily. Finally her body is smooth and the bones are gone. Bobby looks at her surprised) Xavier told me if I wanted it bad enough I could do it.

She walks over to Bobby and gets close to him.

Sarah: I have wanted to do this for a long time. (She leans in and kisses him) Awesome. (She pulls away from him and begins to sweat and breath even harder, the bones explode out of her skin again) Yeah, not long.
Bobby: Still it is great, you are making progress.

Cut to: Jean-Paul is in the tv room watching tv. Rogue is sitting with him.
Rogue: I am sorry I touched you without asking.
Jean-Paul: It's cool, ya needed a boost.
Rogue: That big guy whose on our team. His name is Peter, he is like you.
Jean-Paul: Canadian?

They both laugh.

Rogue: No, he's gay too.
Jean-Paul: Are you serious? (Pauses) He's hot.
Rogue: I know. (Laughs)

Jubilee enters and sprawls across the both of them.

Jubilee: What are you two still doing up?
Jean-Paul: Girl talk.
Jubilee: I love girl talk, but it's not girl talk without snacks, let's hit the kitchen.

The three of them stand and head out of the tv room.

Cut to: Gambits back, he is talking on a tv phone but we do not see who he is talking to.
Gambit: Dat's alot to be askin of me.
Voice: The mission was to infiltrate, and find out their location.
Gambit: Sarah's a good person.
Voice: I own you, remember that. Now handle it and keep me informed.

Cut to: Emma's Mansion, she is also on a video phone. She is talking to Sebastion Shaw.

Shaw: How are things going?
Emma: They are working well together. They show alot of potential, possibly to form their own club one day.
Shaw: (Laughs) That is doubtful Ms.Frost. Either way, we will send the last two recruits tomorrow. Rockslide and Magma.
Emma: Very well Sebastion.

Cut to: The hangar in the Xavier mansion. Storm, Xavier, and Xian are there.
Storm: Beast, Angel, Gambit , Bishop, Dazzler, Banshee, M and Polaris are all aboard Professor.
Xavier: Good Ororo, now Xian, while we are gone you are responsible for the school. Wolverine should be here in a few days to help, and Dani Moonstar said if you need her to call her.
Xian: I understand professor. We will be okay. Lilandra showed me how to use the comm links.
Xavier: Don't hesitate to use them.

Xavier and Storm shimmer as they are teleported out of the Hangar.

Open to: The training dome in Emma's mansion. Cessily, Manuel and James are waiting beside one of the dome walls.
James: God she is taking forever.
Manuel: (French accent) Aren't you the impatient one. (He turns and looks at James) What do you do anyway?
James: I am fast, and strong.
Manuel: (sarcastic) Wow that is impressive.
James: Well what can you do?
Manuel looks at him and smiles, he looks as if he is concentrating and focusing on James. Suddenly James eyes go wide and his knees buckle. He falls to the ground crying and sobbing like a baby.
Manuel: Empathy.
Cessily: Boys, stop it!
Emmas Voice: BEGIN!

Manuel releases James and he and Cessily walk away from the wall.

Manuel: James, you take out Bevatron. Cess, try to take out Sharon. I'll handle Kevin.

Cut to: Sam and Peter in their dorm room. Peter is drawing and Sam is reading.
Sam: (Looking up from his book) What do you think of the new guys?
Peter: Well, Roberto seems pretty much in control of his powers. He whooped some major ass today. And Jean-Paul, well he seems to be just a speedster.
Sam: It was weird, kind of like he was glowing everytime he ran.
Peter: Yeah. (pauses) It's weird being the ones in charge while the X-men are gone.
Sam: I wonder what we'll be called. (Laughs) The X-kids.
Peter: (Laughing) No way. (Thinks for a moment) neXt-Men. (They laugh some more)
Sam: Who knows, Xian will call us something. What can she do anyway?

Suddenly Sam's eyes begin to glow a bright purple.

Xian's voice through Sam: I can posess a person and take control of their body. Hence my codename Karma. It's time for bed boys, we have a busy day ahead of us. By the way, you need to think of codenames, I am informing everyone of this. You want to be an X-man, you have to act like one.
Sam shakes his head as Dani releases him.The boys climb into bed and turn off the lights.

Sam: I hope she never does that again.
Peter: Me too, it was weird.

Open to: Emma's office, a blonde girl stands before her with Shaw. The girl looks drugged. Shaw is holding her up.

Shaw: They worshipped her as a goddess.
Emma: What is it she can do?
Shaw: I will leave you to figure that out for yourself. Rockslide is ready to join his team mates in the dome. If you like, you can send her in as well.
Emma: Bastion she is drugged, what good would she be?
Shaw: You can control her, tap into her and use her. (Holds up a black case filled with green liquid) Just inject her with this once a day and she does whatever you ask of her.
Emma: Interesting. Fine.
Shaw: Selene says her name is Amara, her real name is Allison, but she named her Amara. I think, not sure about that one (Laughs) Either way, I will be off.

he turns to leave.

Shaw: By the way Emma, when do you plan your attack on Xavier?
Emma: When I feel they are ready. (Turns to Amara) Amara, you will defend yourself. Now follow me.

They both walk out of the room in one direction and Shaw in the other.

Open: Sarah is climbing down the wall of the mansion, sneaking out. She hits the ground and begins to walk, she looks frusterated. She heads into the gardens and comes across the pond. She kneels beside it and looks at her reflection. She gets angry and splashes her reflection, when the water settles Callisto is standing behind her and it scares her. She screams and jumps up prepared to fight.

Callisto: Sarah, it's me! Callisto!
Sarah: (Relieved) What are you doing here? (Laughs slightly) You scared the crap out of me.
Callisto: I came to check on you. Make sure you're okay.
Sarah: I am okay, trying to fit in. Well I am, just I still feel different ya know?

Sarah continues to walk around the garden while they talk.

Callisto: Are you happy?

They are both silent, Sarah looks at the ground thinking.

Callisto: You've always beens like a lil sis to me. And if you wanna leave I can understand. Not everyone belongs here with Xavier (Snarls her nose) and his goodie two shoes X-men.
Sarah: (Looking at Callisto) Callisto I am an X-man now.
Callisto: (Surprised) What? Why? I thought you just came here to learn.
Sarah: I DID! It's just, Xavier and his dream. I want that too. I want to be able to go out in public with out an image inhibitor. Xavier wants that for us too.
Callisto: But an X-man?
Sarah: They accept me. They are my friends, my family. I am living as normal a life as I can looking like this.
Callisto: So you turn your back on us?
Sarah: (Getting angry) I am not turning my back on you! I am done hiding! I am done living in the sewers!

They both grow silent. Camera goes in close on Callistos face and shows her anger. She turns to walk away but stops.

Callisto: (Over her shoulder) No matter how hard you try, or how much you change, you will always be Marrow. (pauses) You will always be a Morlock.

Sarah/Marrow turns but Callisto is gone.

Camera cuts to Rukus hiding and watching Sarah.
Rukus: (Into a communicator) Amphibian, you following her?
Amphibian Voice: Yes Rukus.
Rukus: If Gambit can't do it, then we will find them.

Cut to: Training Dome in Emma's Mansion. Flashes of the 3 sets fighting. Cessily and Sharon, Kevin and Manuel, James and Bevatron.

Emma's Voice: STOP! (They all look surprised and stop) New assignment. First meet your new team mate Rockslide.

Santo walks through a door and they all look up to him slightly surprised.

Cessily: Wow you're big.
Santo: Thanks.
Emma's Voice: The assignment, (A door opens and Amara enters) take her out. Whoever successfully subdues her, gets a car!
James: Is she serious?
Santo: As a heart attack.

The seven surround Amara and stare at her for a while, seemingly sizing her up.

Sharon: What can she do?
Bevatron: That is the scary part, we don't know.
James: Fine, I'll handle this.

James runs at Amara preparing to hit her. Suddenly Amara's body is covered in a layer of molten lava. Her hand flies up and she blasts him with a jet stream of the lava. James screams. He flies over the others heads. They look back at Amara and prepare to fight. Amara aims her hands at the ground and the earth begins to shudder, a large split in the ground opens beneath them and lava begins to ooze out. Sharon freaks out and morphs into her cat form and climbs up a tree.

Manuel: (Concentrating) I can't break through to her mind! (Pauses) She is on some kind of drug.

Amara shakes her head, seemingly shaking Manuel out.

Bevatron: Let me try.

He jumps onto a boulder that erupted from the ground. His arms begin to charge up as he prepares to blast her. He releases the blue electric blast directly at Amara.

Bevatron: (As he releases) YEAH!

A wall of lava appears in front of Amara and hardens, then takes the blast. She rolls from behind the wall and throws her own blast at Bevatron taking him out of the battle.

Cessily: (Backing away from the fight) At her temperature, I could disappear.
Santo: Screw this, Cess, Manuel keep her occupied. (He runs in the other direction)
Manuel: And how does he expect us to do that?
Cessily: I can't touch her. I would evaporate, possibly.
Manuel: Fine!

He walks in front of Amara and begins to concentrate. A small white/blue dot appears on his forhead glowing. The blast flys at Amara and hits her in her head. She stumbles back, but is not effected. He shoots another one, and another, and another. Still the same result. Suddenly, out of the rocks Santo appears behind her and smacks her as hard as he can, she flies across the dome and hits the wall falling unconsious.

Cut to: Emma observing on a screen.

Emma: Interesting and very powerful. She will come in handy. (Grabs the mic) So Santo, I guess it will be a Hummer then?

Camera shows the transisition into day on the Xavier Estate.

Int. Xavier Mansion- Day

Open to: Jean-Paul is walking in the hallways of the mansion. He is looking at the art work on the walls. He stops at a painting of the sun rising on the Xavier mansion. He leans in and looks at the name in the corner, it says Peter.

Peter: (From behind him) that one took me two weeks.

Jean-Paul jumps surprised and spins around to face Peter.

Jean-Paul: Do you sneak up on all the new students?
Peter: (Stammering) No, I wasn't sneaking, I came up and seen you walking around. And then you looked at my painting.
Jean-Paul: Calm down, calm down big guy.

There is a pause between them.

Jean-Paul: So I hear there is a garden.
Peter: Yeah, it's on the south side of the building. Do you want me to show you?
Jean-Paul: That would be awesome.

They both head in the direction of the garden.

Cut to: Bobby, Rogue and Xian in the war room.

Bobby: This is just weird for us. We're in charge?
Xian: It is short term Bobby. (Pauses) You two are the oldest and have been on the most missions with the X-men, so I am going to consider you both field leaders.
Rogue: So are we even going on missions?
Xian: If needed, Cecelia Reyes has contacted me and informed me that there have been several mutants disappearing in her area. I am gonna send Roberto, Rogue, Sam and Jubilee. Rogue you and Jubes know how to fly the X-jet right?
Rogue: Yeah, Storm gave us course in it.
Xian: Good, go get them and get ready to head out. Cecelia is waiting for you in Boston.

Cut to: TV room, Sarah, Jubilee, and Sam are watching MTV. Sarah is up and dancing to a video.

Jubilee: How can you move your body like that.
Sarah: (curious) What do you mean?
Jubilee: i can't dance to save my life.
Sarah: (Laughing) Girl get up, lemme show you.

She grabs Jubes arm and pulls her up in the middle of the room and starts to show her how to dance.

Cut to: The garden with Peter and Jean-Paul.

Jean-Paul: god this place is georgeous. (Yawns) I am still on West canada time.
Peter: So this is a little early for you huh?
Jean-Paul: Oh yeah.

Kneels by a flower and touches it.

Jean-Paul: This is a Hong Kong orchid. In my opinion one of the most beautiful flowers.
Peter: I agree.

They make eye contact for a moment and smile at each other.

Cut to: Emmas estate in Boston. Interior boys room, day. Manuel and James in the bathroom.

Manuel: I've already got my own apartment.
James: They bought it for you?
Manuel: Yeah. I've been working for the Hellfire club for almost a year. And a car.
James: Damn.
Manuel: Working for them can be extremely lucrative.
James: I wonder what was wrong with Amara yesterday. (Manuel looks at him curiously) You couldn't break through to her, and you said she was on a drug or something.
Manuel: the first piece of advice I can give you, don't ask questions. They think you are a threat, or might be a problem, they will get rid of you.

Camera closes in on James' shocked face.

Int. X-jet - Day

Open to: Rogue, Jubilee, Roberto and Sam. Rogue and Jubes are flying and Sam and Roberto sitting in passenger seats.

Roberto: So who is it that we are going to see?
Rogue: Cecelia Reyes, she is a doctor who works with the X-men sometimes.
Roberto: Is she a mutant too?
Jubilee: Yeah, I am pretty sure her mutation is something about a force field around her body or something.
Rogue: Xian said that alot of young mutants have been disappearing in Boston, and Cecelia has noticed.
Sam: So we get to go play mutant investigators?
Jubilee: That's right Mr.Guthrie. Either way, we are almost there. Guys buckle back up.

Roberto and Sam buckle their shoulder harnesses.

Cut to: Hellfire club meeting, int. mansion. Sebastian Shaw, Emma Frost, Selene, Tessa, Shinobi Shaw, Jason Wyngard are sitting around a table.
Selene: Emma, how is Amara working?
Emma: Her abilities are very powerful, she will come in handy.
Sebastian: We will need them to handle the Trevor Fitzroy issue.
Emma: They will be ready.
Tessa: But first you want to take care of Xavier?
Emma: Tessa, yes. I want to take care of Xavier. We all know how much of a thorn he has been in the circles side.
Jason: Ladies, calm down. (pauses) Let Emma handle Xavier, and then we can handle Fitzroy.

Cut to: Boston hospital, Rogue, Jubilee, Sam and Roberto are walking through the hallway. They stop at Dr. Cecelia Reyes door. Rogue extends her hand and knocks on the door. A dark skinned woman opens the door with corn-rows in her hair. She smiles at Rogue and invites them all in.

Cecelia: So, Xian tells me you are the next wave of X-men.

She looks them over.

Cecelia: Good choices. And I guess you all will be doing the investigating for Xavier while he is away.
Jubilee: That is the plan. So when you say disappearing mutants what do you mean.
Cecelia: There are two I knew personally, Sharon and Kevin. Though I am not sure about Sharon. She had the ability to shape shift into a cat. And I always paid her a visit on my way home from work. She has been gone for almost a week. And Kevin lived in the sewers, he had a death touch. He always stopped in the soup kitchen I volunteer at, no one has seen him for almost a week as well.
Roberto: Two mutants disappear, is that strange.
Rogue: Not really when it comes to the homeless. (looks at Cecelia suspiciously) Anything else?
Cecelia: (Opens her desk and pulls out a paper) This,

The headlines in the paper read:
Allison Crestmere still missing!!

Cecelia: Allison is the daughter of a friend of mine. She too is a mutant, her family was thinking of sending her to Xaviers. She has been missing for almost a year.
Sam: Another missing mutant in the Boston area. (Cecelia nods her head)
Rogue: Tessa informed Xavier that Selene had kidnapped a mutant a while ago and had brainwashed her.
Roberto: Who?
Rogue: Tessa, she is a spy he has on the inside of the Hellfire club.
Cecelia: The Hellfire club has been quiet for some time, maybe they have decided to resurface.

Open to: Xavier Estate, Sarah, Peter, Jean-Paul and Bobby are sitting in Xaviers office which is temorarily Xian's.

Xian: Rogue and the rest of the team are on a mission in Boston.
Bobby: Why didn't we get to go?
Xian: (Looking at Sarah) I have another mission, closer to home I need you guys to go on.

Xian sighs and looks at the ground.

Peter: Xian what's wrong?
Xian: We recieved this distress call in the middle of the night last night.

She walks around the desk and enters something into the computer. The screen over on the wall flickers. Callisto appears on the screen.

Callisto: Charles, I don't know what is happening! (There are blasts heard from behind her and the sound of Rukus's scream) We need help, please send help!

Something explodes from behind her and the screen goes to static. They are all silent for a moment.

Sarah: (Standing) I gotta go.
Xian: Sarah they are going with you.
Sarah: (Knees getting weak) I shouldn't have left them. (Geting upset) I shouldn't have left them.
Bobby: (stands and touches Sarah's shoulder) Calm down Sarah.
Sarah: We need to go, they need us!
Xian: Peter, take Hank's jeep. Sarah get them there as fast as you can.

They all stand and exit.

Cut to: Rogue, Roberto, Jubilee and Sam at the Soup kitchen. They are serving the homeless food with Cecelia.

Cecelia: (Whispering to Rogue) That guy over there, his name is Julian Keller, a mutant and also the only person actually close to Kevin.
Rogue: Jubes, go see if you can get him to talk.

Camera cuts to Jubilee, putting some food on a plate and walking towards Julian. She takes a seat beside him setting the plate in front of him.
Jubilee: Hungry?
Julian: (snidely) What kind of question is that?
Jubilee: A simple one, requires a yes or a no.
Julian: You people get on my damn nerves. You come here because your consious says you need to help feed the homeless. But you don't realize we need so much more.

Jubilee stops as if this has hit a nerve.

Jubilee: Julian, I am here to ask you some questions.
Julian: I ain't talking to no damn reporter.
Jubilee: I am not a reporter. (She lets her fingers spark slightly) I am a mutant like you and Kevin.

Julian looks around slightly nervous.

Julian: I told that chick you guys sent that I don't wanna join no group.
Jubilee: What group?
Julian: You Hellfire weirdos.
Jubilee: Julian, I am not part of that group. I am going to a school for mutants. And we are trying to find some missing mutants, Kevin is one of them.
Julian: (Laughing) He ain't missing, he said yes.

Jubilee thinks about this and prepares to leave. She stops and turns back to Julian.

Jubilee: If you really want to get off the streets, I can get you into my school. Food, shelter and an education.
Julian: If you're serious then I will see you later.

Cut Back to Xavier Estates. Xian's office again. She is sitting at the desk looking worried. She pulls out and small silver contraption and pushes a button on it. Xaviers image appears in mid-air above the contraption.

Xavier: Xian, is everything okay?
Xian: I am not sure professor. We got a distress call from Callisto last night. Something is happening to the Morlocks and I am afraid that we are too late.
Xavier: Have you sent the team to investigate?
Xian: Half of the team is headed to their lair and the other is in Boston with Dr.Reyes. We may need some help.
Xavier: We will be back as soon as possible. We are almost done here. Has Logan arrived yet?
Logan O.S: Tell him yeah.

Xian looks up and Logan is standing in the doorway.

Xavier: Logan, we are away at the moment, please help Xian.
Logan: Consider it done professor.

Open to: Peter, Sarah, Jean-Paul and Bobby climbing down into the sewers. Camera cuts to them in the sewers. As soon as the four are in the sewers Sarah takes off.

Sarah: (Over her shoulder) Keep up!

The other three take off after her, Jean-Paul keeping up more than the other two. Sarah is running as hard as she can, tears are forming in the corners of her eyes as she runs. They turn three corners and come into a clearing. A vast room, with several rooms off of the main one. There are bodies everywhere. Sarah stops dead in her tracks and her eyes grow wide.

Sarah: No, no, no, no.

She drops to her knees and starts to sob. Jean-Paul touches her shoulder and she jumps.

Sarah: Don't touch me!
Bobby: Sarah, I'm sorry.
Voice: Marrow?

Sarah's head turns in all directions looking for where the voice came from. Camera pans out and a woman walks out of the wall behind her. Her hair is multi-colored and her nose is bloody. Sarah turns and looks at her.

Sarah: Kaleidescope!

They run to each other and embrace.

Sarah: Brute? Chickenwings? Eve? Where are they?
Kaleidescope: All dead.
Sarah: All of them?
Kaleidescope: (Crying) Revelation took Artie and Leech to Chicago with Callisto. I hid, it was all I could do Marrow.

Sarah hugs her.

Sarah: It isn't your fault.

She holds her for a moment as she too cries. She stops and turns Kaleidescope around.

Sarah: Who did this?
Kaleidescope: the frog guy said someone named Sinister send them.
Sarah: You come with us, we will get you to Chicago with the rest of them.
Bobby: (touching her back again) Sarah we will find who did this.
Sarah: (Spinning to face Bobby) My name is NOT SARAH! It is Marrow!

Cut to: Emma's Mansion, the eight are standing in front of her in their uniforms.

Emma: The Circle had these uniforms made to fit your abilities. So whatever you do to them, they can stand it.
Cessily: So whenever I go liquid, it won't like fall off?
Emma: (Laughing) No my dear Cessily, it will not.
Cessily: (Smiling) Good.

There is a knock on the door. Emma looks at the door curiously, she then motions for them to get out of the room. She walks to the door and opens it. Jubilee is standing there with Rogue. Emma looks at them confused.

Emma: I do not want any Girl Scout Cookies.
Rogue: Ms. Frost we are not here to sell any cookies, actually to ask you a few questions.
Jubilee: In regards to, (pulls out a pad of paper) Sharon Smith, Allison Crestmere and Kevin Ford.
Emma: They are students of mine, why?
Rogue: Actually Ms.Frost, Allison has been missing since last year.
Emma: I'm sorry, I thought you said Amara, Amara Aquilla is a student of mine.
Jubilee: Do you mind if we talk to Sharon and Kevin?
Emma: I am sorry they are in a class right now. If you leave a number I can have them call you.

Jubilee writes a number on a piece of paper and hands it to Emma.

Jubilee: We just have a few questions to ask them.

Emma looks at the number and smiles.

Emma: Will do. (Begins to close the door) Have a good day.

The girls head away from the door.

Rogue: She is hiding something.
Jubilee: For real.
Emma's Voice: Tell Charles I said hi.

They both turn around and Emma is not standing there.

Rogue: Another school for mutants?

Their comm links on their jackets beep. Rogue pushes hers.

Rogue: This is Rogue.
Peter's voice: Rogue we need you guys to get back here as soon as possible.
Jubilee: We're on our way

Open to: Rogue, Jubilee, Sam and Roberto entering Xians office. Sarah, Bobby, Jean-Paul and Peter are standing waiting in their X-uniforms.

Xian: We have a problem.
Rogue: Yes we do, we found some stuff out about the missing mutants.
Logan: Where are they?
Jubilee: Emma Frost's academy in Boston, we don't know if they are there voluntarily or not.
Sarah: (whispering) We have to get Kaleidescope to Chicago.
Sam: Who?

Kaleidescope walks away from the wall.

Kaleidescope: Sorry, I blend into everything.
Logan: I will take her there, (turns to Bobby and Rogue) You two get the team over to Emma's.
Sarah: What about finding out who killed my family.
Xian: Sarah, we will find out who did this. But we need to handle one mission at a time.
Sarah: (angry) But forget about them??
Rogue: No, who ever did that will pay. The X-men make sure of that.
Bobby: We make sure of that.
Sarah: Then let's go.
Xian: Logan take the X-23 to Chicago and get back as soon as you can. Rogue, take the team to suite up and load in the X-jet, I am coming with you.

They all exit the room.

Open to: The back of the X-jet, Peter and Jean-Paul are sitting beside each other. Jean-Paul looks nervous.

Peter: Are you okay?

Jean-Paul clears his throat, he smiles at Peter.

Jean-Paul: Yeah, I am okay. I'm just nervous. (Holds his hand out, it is shaking) Really nervous.

Peter places his hand on Jean's knee.

Peter: It will be okay, you'll do fine. We're just going into Emma's to find out what's going on.
Jean-Paul: I've never thought about being a super hero. (looks at the ground) Never thought about using my powers to help anyone but myself.

Cut to: Front of the X-jet, Rogue and Bobby are in the drivers seats.

Bobby: Are you okay?
Rogue: Yeah Bobby, I am fine. (pauses) If something goes wrong, I want you to know, I am okay.

Bobby looks at her and smiles, he touches her gloved hand.

Bobby: Thank you for telling me that.

Camera pans over to Xian walking up the loading ramp in an X-men uniform

Xian: Let's get this bucket of bolts off the ground.

Cut to: Logan driving the X-23 (a car) with Kaleidescope in the passenger. Logan is focused on the road, he sniffs the air.

Logan: You smell familiar, who have you been around.
Kaleidescope: Aside from all of you, just the Morlocks
Logan sniffs some more.
Logan: Who was it that attacked you?
Kaleidescope: They said something about someone they kept calling Sinister.

Logan looks at her surprised. He glances back at the road and back at her, only it isn't her, it's Morph.

Logan: MORPH!

He is holding a Gun out and shoots Logan. Camera pans out and the car swirves and hits a tree. Camera pans over to show Rukus and Vertigo standing beside the road. Camera goes back to the car and Logan is climbing out the window. Vertigo steps forward.

Vertigo: Logan, you are feeling sleepy. So tired. so tired. You can't stand.

Logan goes down.

Cut to: Emma's Mansion, she is having a one on one session with Manuel.

Emma: I can sense alot of power coming from you, but not alot of control. If you dig deep, you will be able to tap into many minds at once.
Manuel: (Frusterated) You say it like it is so easy.
Emma: It is, once you try. (Closes her eyes) Watch.

Flashes on Santo, James and Sharon flash across her mind. Suddenly a door in the room opens and the three walk in, like in a daze.

Emma: See.

The three break out of the trance and shake their heads.

Santo: What's going on?
Emma: Let them taste happiness, laughter, make them giggle.
Manuel: I will try.

Manuel closes his eyes, suddenly James breaks into laughter, he starts laughing really hard and can't seem to stop. Sharon starts in too, Santo looks at them both as if they are crazy. Then suddenly he starts too. The three of them are laughting so hard they fall to the ground.

Emma: See, you CAN do it.

Manuel opens his eyes and laughs, the three are still giggling, but it is subsiding. Finally they stop laughing and James looks embarassed.

James: I just pee'd myself.

Emma and Manuel laugh along with Sharon and Santo.

Cut to: The X-jet, Peter and Jean-Paul. They are chatting quietly. Xian is in the front of the Jet with the others, Rogue and Bobby still flying.

Jean-Paul: I mean I look back at my life, the crap I've gone through. Never in my wildest dreams did I think I would be decked out in leather going to fight crime.

They both laugh.

Peter: None of us ever pictured ourselves doing this. But, when Xavier tells you about his vision for our future, you want to fight for that. We've gone through so much as a team, as a society in the past twenty years, his vision is beautiful. (Pauses) Is it possible? We don't know, but it is wonderful to have that hope that one day, we will all be okay. That our children will be okay.
Jean-Paul: You want children?
Peter: (Nodding) Yeah, one day. When I find the right guy to settle down with.
Jean-Paul: Me too, one day.

There is a moment between them, they lock eyes, and smile. Jean-Paul blushes a little.

Cut to: Xian, Rogue and Bobby in the front of the X-Jet.

Xian: I will possess their minds to see what I want them to see. Which will be nothing. You four go in, and find out where the other kids are.
Rogue: Me, Jubilee, Jean-Paul and Peter?
Xian: Yes, oh that reminds me. (Turning around to the rest of the kids) I need code names. That was your first assignment. So give em!

She looks at Sam and Roberto.

Sam: Um, I guess Cannonball.
Xian: Good choice Sam. Roberto?
Roberto: I was thinking Sunspot.
Xian: I like, I like. I think Xavier will like both of those.
Peter: I am collosal when in metal form. So I figured Collossus would fit me nicely.
Xian: Collossus works Peter. Jean-Paul?
Jean-Paul: North-Star, mostly because of my glowing abilities.

Xian turns to Sarah and looks at her, she looks detached from everyone and everything around her.

Xian: Sarah, I need your codename.

There is a beat as the camera closes in on Sarah. She looks up at Xian.

Sarah: (Quietly) Marrow.
Xian: Good, Rogue, Iceman, Jubilee, Cannonball, Sunspot, Collossus, North-Star, and Marrow. Nice team. I was talking with Professor Xavier last night about your team name. (Begins to walk back to the front of the X-jet) We threw a couple of names around. New Mutants, Generation X, X-teens. But finally Scott Summers came up with the team name of X-Factor, and that is what you will be called.
Bobby: X-factor, I like that.
Rogue: Me too.

Open to: A Lair, exact location is unknown. It is dark, all that is heard is breathing. A torch is lit on one wall giving off a dull light. Logan is strapped to a wall, it was his breathing we heard. His eyes flutter open. He starts to struggle against the restraints holding his hands down.

Voice: It is useless Mr. Howlett.

Logan stops as if that name hits a spot.

Logan: (Hoarse) What did you call me.
Voice: You heard me.

Logan struggles some more against the restraints.

Voice: I say it again, it is useless.
Logan: Oh yeah?

Camera closes in on Logans hands, his claws snikt out and blood seeps from the wounds. He screams in pain. The claws go back in but the cuts do not heal, they continue to bleed.

Voice: Oh yes, an X-Factor nullifier of my own creation. Any mutants within this area suddenly realizes their powers are useless.
Logan: (weak) What do you want from me?
Voice: Who said I wanted you? It's one of your fellow team mates that I need.

The shadow steps from the shadows, it is Sinister.

Logan: (Weaker) Sinister!
Sinister: (Evily) Damn skippy! (Laughs)

Cut to: The X-jet landing. X-Factor walks off of the jet Xian in the lead.

Xian: Okay, you all follow me. When we get in a close enough vicinity for me to fool their minds, you go in and see what you can find. I can only maintain control for an hour. Any longer and I get lost in their minds.
Rogue: An hour is long enough.

They all head towards Emma's Estate.

Cut to: Emma's Mansion, interior. Cessily and Sharons room.
The two girls are silent, Cessily is reading. Sharon is watching tv.

Sharon: (Curiously) Are all humans like this?
Cessily: (Laughing) No Sharon. Not all humans are like that. (Pauses) What is your story anyway?
Sharon: What do you mean?
Cessily: Why are you on the streets?

Sharon stops and thinks for a moment.

Sharon: I have always been on the streets, as long as I can remember back.
Cessily: Do you not have any family?
Sharon: I have family, in a way. Other cats on the street. We take care of each other.
Cessily: (Putting her book down) So your whole life you thought you were a cat?
Sharon: (Laughing) That is what I still believe, no matter what Emma tells me. I am a cat who can change into a human.

Cessily laughs too. She hops off of the top bunk and sits in the floor with Sharon.

Cessily: Well, cat or human, you can call me your family now.
Sharon: Have you no family either?
Cessily: my mother worked for Emma's parents. When I was born, I was born like this. Emma was only a few years older than I, and her parents let my mother keep me. Emma and I grew up together.(Pauses, eyes start to well up) My mother passed away eight years ago and they took care of me. Emma has as well. She is the closest thing to family I have.

Sharon and Cessily are quiet for a moment.

Sharon: Well, I will be your family too.

They smile at one another.

Open to: Colossus, North-Star, Jubilee and Rogue standing on the grounds of Emma's estate.

Rogue: (Into her Comm link) Xian we are ready.

Cut to: Xian, sitting in the X-jet with the others.

Xian: 10-4 Rogue. go in on my word.

she closes her eyes and begins to concentrate.

Cut back to the four on the grounds.

Rogue: North-Star, you are a speedster. I am gonna need ya to get in their and check the area. Then tell us when the coast is clear.
Jean-Paul/North-Star: Understood.
Xian's Voice: Okay Rogue, they will not see anything.

Jean-Paul takes off in a blur. Camera follows him, the world is going slow around him. In the same way it does for Clark on Smallville when he goes super fast. Either way, he runs into the front door and opens it and into the foyer. No one is there. All is quiet. He runs back and out the door and back to the team.

North-Star: Okay so the foyer is all clear. So I think it will be okay if we just walk in the front door.
Rogue: Okay, Colossus as much as I want you to stay in metal for, the groaning of the floorboards might give us away.

Colossus changes into his normal look.

Rogue: Jubes, keep the fireworks as low key as possible.
Jubilee: Gotcha. (She slides her yellow gloves on over her hands)
Rogue: alright, let's move out.

Cut to: Emma in her office, she is alone. Talking to Shaw on the video phone again.

Shaw: Selene and Jason are both extremely worried about the Fitzroy problem.
Emma: Would you like me to recruit him to our team?
Shaw: That is next to impossible. But, we do have a relative of his here on file. I will fax it over to you. I think if he knows we know about Trevor, he will pull back.
Emma: Wait, they are both named Trevor Fitzroy?
Shaw: Yes, a child three years old. He has a mutant gene as well. Tessa found that out.
Emma: That is odd. Either way, the Upstarts have been on the wrong side of the fence all these years maybe this will give us the upper hand on them.

Emma pauses and shakes her head as if getting a head ache. She looks around the room suspiciously.

Emma: Sebastian I am gonna have to go, I think I have company.

Cut to: Rogue, Colossus, North-Star and Jubilee upstairs going through each room. Jubilee has a small camera in her hands and takes a picture of the kids in each room. They get to Manuel and Rockslides room and snap the picture.

Manuel: (Shaking his head) Something is up. He looks directly at the door and sees nothing.) Santo, I think we might have a problem.

Cut back to the four running down the hallway. They get to the end but Emma is standing there, staring at empty space. She closes her eyes and focuses.

Rogue: (Whispering) Jubilee, run, get the pictures to Xian.

Jubilee takes off and slides around Emma quickly.

Cut to: Xian in the X-jet, she grabs her head as if in pain and her nose starts to bleed.

Xian: I can't keep a hold!

Cut back to the Mansion: Emma opens her eyes and the three left start to shimmer into view.

Emma: Well, well, well. Look who decided to pay us a visit.
