It's nice to see polls in the boards, so like I don't see one like this, I've created it.

Pure and simple. What do you want?

I'd really like an X4, maybe without Storm and Wolverine, but then it might just be easier to do a Young X-Men spin-off. So I voted for 'both' :P

Realistically, it's too soon for a restart, as a restart is basically saying ALL the previous X-movies are crap and should be ignored. Which Fox or Marvel is not going to be seen as implying or saying.

An X4 could work, but not sure if the public want it. I know people who think the franchise should be left as it is, that three movies is enough.

An origin story including Scott, Jean and Ororo (with younger lookalike actors) would be cheaper (no big names = no big salary bill), and could finally give the origins and stories of Scott and Storm (and a non-furry Beast) and show some 'warmth and camaraderie' (my words, which other people are now using!!!).

The trouble with an origin story is that it's not the right place for Gambit, Emma Frost, Sentinels, Apocalypse or Sinister. Which brings us back to X4.

So - NO to a restart, YES to an X4 (for some of these: Gambit, Emma Frost, Sinister, Sentinels, Apocalypse, perhaps return of Cyclops) and an origins prequel (which could be part of the Magneto spin-off). How about X-Men : Polarity - polarity as in Magneto's magnetism, polarity as in the opposite ideals that develop betwen Xavier and Magneto? Or just X-Men: Origins. My screenwriting, editing or consulting pen is poised if Fox want to get in touch! :woot: :cwink: :hyper: :word:

I'd like to see an X4.

I've seen it mentioned here before and thought it was a pretty good idea: Scott's body was never found, so he doesn't necessarily have to be dead. A flashback could reveal that Jean left Scott for dead. A dark figure appears in the fog and carries Scott off. That dark figure is later revealed to be Mr. Sinister. Ultimately, Scott would return as Cyclops somewhere near the middle of the film.

The film could lead up to an Apocolypse ending, first introducing his horsemen, and as someone else mentioned, having Professor X being one of the four horsemen, so that he could later be saved and return to the school. It could work.

If it were up to me, I'd put more focus on Angel this time around, who of course, would also become one of the four horsemen. More Juggernaut, but tweak the costume a bit. Little or no Wolverine, if at all possible (this could be explained in the Wolverine spinoff), and bring in fan favs. Emma Frost and Gambit. And lastly, the effects of the cure begin fading.

Which kinda is exactly the point some of us are making by asking for either a distant reboot or to stop x-flicks altogether. The later having to do with sparing us the mind-numbing pain of watching the x-verse get f****d over some more. :woot:

Am voting for a restart, but, yes, X-Maniac is right about it being too soon.

Oh, and here are some pointers regarding some key characters:

Cyke and Storm: Look, if you include them, make them actual leaders and not just cardboard cut-outs. Otherwise, don't even bother.

Chuck: We all know the guy is manipulative. Still, he's had a good agenda all along. Having him be a saint in X1/2 and then turn into an a$$hole in X3 does NOT qualify as doing justice to the character and aforementioned concept. And for the love of God, have him DO something. Mouthy tour guide just doesn't quite cut it.

Logan: Either you portray him as an obnoxious a$$hole (x1/x2) or an angsty samourai (comics). It took years and mind-numbing drama for the guy to change. You can't get this across in three flicks. Pick one and stick with it. And for the love of god, give him at least ONE decent fight once every three flicks.

Jean: If you pair her up with someone, make it CONVINCING. Also, have her be more than the prize of a pissing contest and PLEASE, don't f**k up her most famous story-arc by having her take a backseat and turn into an impotent dimwit with daddy issues. Kinda takes away from the 'I am fire and life incarnate' thingie.

Bobby: Please don't turn him into an emo wimp who for some reason grows a pair not only off-screen, but in-between flicks.

Warren: Refer to first part of comment above. Also, if you include him, give him more than a f****n POINTLESS GLORIFIED CAMEO.

Beast: Don't make the guy a LATE addition, k? Beast not being old school just doesn't feel right.

Magneto: Don't have his IQ drop significantly in-between flicks.

Well, not that this is IT, but it would be one hell of a good start. :woot:

I agree that it's too soon to restart.
I just want them to fix Rogue and give her some action :csad:

Young Xmen would fall too hard on the teen pop genre and suck I think. Keep the films adult and work on a few specific characters so as not to overload the film like X3.

storm is most likely to come back anyways so id go with an x4,though i do want to see a spin off for a few characters
logan(obviously)
magneto
mystique etc

I want firstly a X4. If they start with various spin-offs, doing new sequels of the main saga would be more difficult than what it is right now.

So would be great to have two more xsequels, and then, they do whatever they want with the x-men...

There should've been a "Anything but an x-kids flicks" choice in the poll. :woot:

i doubt they will go past four,4 is already pushing it

I don't know yet... I think they shot themselves in the foot with the last installment, and I think an X-Men 4 would be a relatively weak entry in comparison to the rest of the deemed "trilogy." I kind of just want a restart, but I don't know how well that would fare.

I'm interested in the Magneto and Wolverine spin-offs though.

No more X-men movies......then in some years later a restart....all the cast in the last three films will be moving on to new films and expanding their careers...
Wolverine and Magneto Spinoff are about as closest thing to an X4 yall gonna get

X3 crippled the franchise too much, exploring orgins for X4,Emma frost,Sinister Apocalypse are all boring ideas when it comes to studio execs...Cyclops isn't coming back..his character feeds off of jean...Sinister never only came for Cyclops he came for both Jean And Cyclops.....and it'll be stupid if he around and she not...ideas like that are a green light if the X-men is turned into a live action series like smallville...or cartoon....not on the big screen

So no more X-men movies in 10-12 years...

6 users want a restart. Can't believe they don't wanna see Gambit and Emma with the already known characters/actors. I want to see Gambit with Anna Paquin, and Emma with Halle Berry. The actual saga needs more films, at least two more, hehe.

Definitely an X4! Spin-offs would be alright as long as they don't turn out something like DareDevil or Elektra.
