Hopefully that Wolverine reveal in the trailer upped the prediction for opening weekend and overall boxoffice.

Pro Box Office didn't change the prediction in any way yesterday, so that's a good sign since it fell the 2 previous weeks...

Hmmm... Is it falling because of doubt about XMA or in reaction to the increasing expectations for Civil War? Or perhaps to other May films?

^the trailers while good havent wowed people like civil war and bvs trailer did

Or they are getting more accurate information.

Nobody cares about Alice. This movie does not have any buzz.

People sure liked the last one it made a billon dollars you can't just right that off I could care less about Alice but it made more money then any X-men movie ever has you can't take it lightly.

You also can't take for granted that Johnny Depps star power has been on the decline for years since staring in the first "Alice" it is definitely something to not take lightly but not as huge of a threat as some are making it.

people also forget alice made so much because of the 3D craze the film came out only 3 months after avatar so it was the height of 3D

So I see this commonly repeated and while it has some truth, I also feel it's overblown. Maybe it's not a "craze" anymore but 3D is still going strong. In 2010, when Avatar and Alice both did very well, 36% of the US population saw a movie in 3D. Last year, that number was a still-strong 27%, and despite this decline the average number of 3D films seen by all moviegoers remained pretty much unchanged. What's more, PLF has more than made up the loss of 3D viewers.

What does that mean for XMA and Alice? I would contend not much as Alice is surely going to decline relative to the first one. XMA is probably going to do better on premium screens and overall. My point is just that Alice is going to decline for reasons other than 3D (most notably mixed feeling about the first one).

It's a tough movie to judge. Alice, Oz, Jungle Book, Cinderella and Maleficent all did good numbers. Even when the reception and reviews were meh.

I hate Alice in Wonderland and I have a feeling the sequel is gonna suck!

But I love Cinderella/The Jungle Book soooo I really hope the upcoming Disney fairy-tale live-action films are gonna be as good as those films!

Agreed. I do like the trailers for Alice 2, but I hated the first. I'll see it if wom is different.

Taylor Swift as Dazzler will definitely give the movie a boost to increase its WW gross sales.

Alice 2 won't be an issue. We all know the drop off after Batman and Batman Returns at the BO. Burton isn't even directing here. It's not even going to do Malificent numbers IMO. It will put a dent in Apocalypse but no more so than Malificent did with DoFP. The domestic numbers will still be up from DoFP so it's going to gross more for sure.

Nightcrawler is missing in that Preview cover, but it looks good.

Alice probably will open second. But it will appeal to children and families possibly much more than X-Men. That is something to worry about to a point. It might not make as much money, but it could still do damage to the totals for the mutants.

It is an unconfirmed cameo based purely on speculation. Even if it is true, which I think would be kind of funny, there is no point in marketing it since it will likely be her singing on a television or something like that.

Every genre movie is a competition especially during the opening weekend.:yay:

Which is a shame really. $124 Mil projected 4-day weekend is only $2 Mil higher than X3.
