F7 outgrossed pretty much everything, being anywhere near it is a compliment. Only 5 films get the honor of grossing more with Avengers being the only comic book film of the bunch.

I think F7 benefitted a lot from the tragic death of Paul Walker, but it was completely out of their control. I'm interested to see how the next one will perform now that they're without one of their main stars.

I think the MCU is quickly hitting their plateau. It is quickly developing X-men type legs. God help the board if it hits the "decreasing phase" before Infinity War.

eventully there will be another incredible Hulk disappointment.it might not be till after the infinity war 2 parter where after that they could start to lose
some of MCU cast

Civil war looks like it will fall short of 400 million domesticly. My prediction for it was to hit 400 million.Civil war was basicly avengers 3 despite technically be cap 3.I don't think absense of thor and hulk affected things much.

Films like dr strange, and the black panther may be looking at ant-man stype grosses Inless one totally surprises like GOTG.But deadpool was more GOTG
like surprise hit.GOTG was good that it hit before the force awakens.disney's stragedy of releasing a star wars film every year may end up hurting star wars eventully.even empire strikes back did less than a New Hope.

with X-men the blunt fact is the first class cast hasn't been appealing to people the way the Original Trilogy cast did.the next full X-men film no matter who does it could perform similar to Apocalypse.

With wolverine fox will probally play up heavily this is hugh jackman's last
film as wolverine. But,I think a recasting of wolverine is sooner rather than
later. That when next X-men film comes around may be something fox does to try to build more intrest.

Not dinosaurs and Jedi!

I think Civil War will make it to 400M, like 404M-406M-ish.

As for the last Wolverine film, unless it is horrible, I think it will do well as it's Hugh's last Wolverine appearance. I hope it does well as Hugh deserves it, he does his best for the fans and gives his all for the role. When they recast, the new actor will have a lot to live up to.

Civil war may still hit 400 million domesticly.but probally won't go much beyond that.but if you consider civil war an avengers film it's clear first avengers was peak of MCU and avengers.both age of ultron and civil war have done less.So while MCU will always be bigger than X-men it has declines of it own.we know an avengers film it going to a billion world wide at least through
infinity war two parter.it will be intresting to see who resigns after that.

as for wolverine i expect fox to pull up hugh's last film and the r rating. My
hope is introduction of X-23 doesn't take anything away from Hugh.and I hope there Isn't a force awakens like thing where wolverine dies like han solo did.they can still recast wolverine for the past set X-men films but like solo in TFA and showing my age when shatner was killed in Star Trek Generations that is tough to see.

I find that funny because pro.boxoffice.com had a wild prediction that CW cumulative domestic gross will be $605 million, guess that won't be happening.

I think it is good no matter what, but also, I'm not one of those who consider it an Avengers movie.

If I wanted to see an Avengers movie, and 90% of the other Avengers actions were confined to the 2nd act and they didn't go into the 3rd act at all? I would be very irritated more than likely.

For Infinity War (I'm going to go on a limb and say the two movies after the name change will be called "Avengers:Infinity Gauntlet" and "Avengers:Infinity War") I think they are going to be around AoU numbers, maybe more International.

As far as showing your age, don't feel bad. I remember the Shatner/Kirk stuff too and looking back, what messed with me most is I thought it wouldn't mess with me and and that it was a long time coming, but when he died, I was like "wait a minute...What?"

whatever they end up calling those 2 films they likely will do better than civil war.they seem to be including everyone from MCU in it including GOTG.I wonder if spider-man will be in it although there are rumors that the sony deal only allowed marvel for putting spider-man in one non-sony film in return for them producing their first solo spider-man film.

like solo In the Force awakens we all saw kirk dying coming but it still was tough to see.

yup.

I'm curious to find out what was the theaters like for those who in the states watched it lately? Basically crowd reaction and how full it was? I will see it again myself in a few days, but the more views, the clearer the picture is.

Someone from the UK stated that their theater was healthy in population, so that lends to evidence that its better received overseas.

Wow that TMNT prediction is a lot lower than I thought it would be. I have no interest in it, and had no interest in the first one, but it seems like it's been marketed so much.

I saw it yesterday (Tuesday is a discount day) and the theatre was decently full. More than three quarters.

I think this is the big takeaway. WOM is that the movie is good and enjoyable and intense and funny, but it isn't directed and written like an Avengers movie (which is one of the things I love about it that it doesn't compromise itself as a Captain America movie). It's kind of its own beast in that regard. I knew after seeing it that it was never gonna do Avengers money.

I knew before seeing it that it wouldn't surpass either Avenger film. People were overshooting with their numbers, especially those saying it would "make what AoU was "supposed" to make" as if AoU was a failure.

The MCU isn't hitting a plateau, most people just have unrealistic expectations in regards to some of the releases.

I'm just worried that low box office numbers like X-Men Apocalypse and BvS are a result of some superhero fatigue

I think the mediocre reviews and reception for Apocalypse and the awful reviews for BvS probably had more to do with the drop off and low numbers for those two movies, rather then "superhero fatigue".

If BvS wasn't a **** movie it would've done a billion easy.

The only movie that is an indication of Superhero fatigue would be Civil War, and even that isn't really an indication of that.

There's no such thing as fatigue when it comes to any one genre. When the movies get mediocre, audiences don't show up. You make great movies, they come in droves.

Look at Civil War....over $1 billion & counting. Legitimate proof that there is no superhero fatigue. And let's not forget Deadpool making $760+ million WW without China & off a $58 million budget.

No, there is no superhero fatigue.

It must suck to have 4 movies and counting doing over a billion...not to mention all the growth in merchandising. There's no fatigue,BvS was crap and it almost made 900 millions,X-Men was pretty bad and the franchise is 16 years old, that's all.
