Dark Phoenix X-Men: Dark Phoenix News and Speculation Thread - - - - - - Part 15

Here it comes the fanboy dickmeasuring.

I think people take too seriously that JLaw video. But even if she doesn't know 5 X-Men, it's because of the structure they use, prioritizing always the same characters. 80% of the FC cast was left behind. In DoFP there was no X-Men. Well, there were, but they had 10 minutes of screentime where they had no lines and were killed multiple times. In Apocalyypse there was a new generation (with iconic characters) but most of them barely had lines or had their names said out loud (Ororo, Betsy, Warren, Jubilee, etc). And most of them are getting left behind again. The focus is still the same old characters.

So I don't blame Lawrence for not knowing more than 5 X-Men, because the general audience don't know either. I blame the creative team.

And by the way, Elizabeth Olsen's performance in Sorry For Your Lost has been highly acclaimed by critics. But what do they know about it, huh?

This is hilarious, Sophie Turner struggled on a test that comprised only of obscure X-Men and Game of Thrones characters, save for Cyclops, Remy, and Hank (and for whatever it's worth she got the easy ones, even if two were guesses) and fans are legitimately annoyed or upset around here. Yeesh. There were some in that that I didn't know or recognize. Besides she was a good sport about it and clearly was trying, as opposed to, yes, JLaw who is always rolling her eyes while discussing X-Men.

Folks just look for a reason to be upset. The video was cute celebrity fizz, nothing more.

Who is upset or annoyed around here? Filmfreak even clarified he doesn't think it's a big deal.

And my reply was obviously in jest because of Ordet's snarky reply to my other post, I don't actually think Sophie Turner can't act, lol. But she does look stiff in the trailer.

I suppose I mistook this thread's general bitterness to everyone involved in these movies for more than it was. ;)

Personally, I'm more upset that Chastain will be a random alien when Kinberg could have given us a classic X-Men villain vs Jean Grey and also giving us what seems to be Omega Muties 2.0

Kinberg is comic-accurate.

I remember what Alexandra Shipp said last year:

"It’s very accurate to the comics and he (Kinberg) really gives the fans what they’ve been asking for, in my opinion. All I can say is that you’re really going to like it."

Are you serious?

Are you really compare to be in a web series (that critics judge based on web-series-level) at working with Arriaga, Russell, Bigelow or Malick?

And the Hellfire Club and Shiar are not in the movie. How is that very accurate? Also the iconic phoeniX costume is also not present.

JLaw who is always rolling her eyes while discussing X-Men.

I think that is abit of an exaggeration. she is always professional about it in that typical JLaw sort of way, even if she isn't jumping up and down with excitement humming the 90s animated theme.

Well, you can go to the comments section of those reviews praising her performance and question the critics then...

¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I miss Famke & James

I don't. Particularly Marsden. What did he ever do as Cyclops other than act like a jerk to people? Nothing. Cyclops had no character other than 1 scene at Xavier's bedside in the 4 movies we saw Marsden in the role (granted, DoFP was a cameo).
