Dark Phoenix X-Men: Dark Phoenix News and Speculation Thread - - - - - - Part 15

Does this put to rest the fan theories that the X-Men & FF couldn't crossover at Fox due to rights issues?

What are you talking about? Your entire arguement is subjective. The valid point is that they were right with the scoop. They literally said how the movie ends, 4 months before the release. It's proved that @icekid and @The Original Bamfer have reliable and trusted sources, unlike certain other people (New Mutants forum, you know...)
I mean if you want to continue to remind people those two in particular told members here to “trust them; that the movie is good” I guess that’s on you.

I’ve also posted here that my source said the movie is a “cataclysmic disaster.” That they didn’t have a third act when they were filming. And that reshoots took more than 2 1/2 weeks to shoot but I don’t see you offering your praise for my scoops.

I just find it BIZARRE that after being proven that the movie is a TRAINWRECK the first thing that enters your mind is "See! These two members that I have nothing to do with were both right! I feel vindicated!!!"

And you seem so eerily obsessed with that New Mutants forum member...

Coming from the same guy who says his scoops told him Godzilla King of the Monsters is "spectacular, brilliant and that reactions are comparable to Infinity War".

You know you're in trouble when you're quoting youtube videos: "The movie isn't terrible!"

That scoop is a literal tweet that many people here also scoop from: Gavin Feng.

Also Godzilla might as well be Godfather compared to Dark Phoenix. Sad.

"Hoped to be the Dark Knight of this franchise, failed to be its Batman Forever."

Which is a shame, I wanted this to be a better received movie, as much as I was initially confident this would end up being bad.

I'm glad that crossover never happened.

It's not even that. Campea basically says that about pretty much every blockbuster that gets really bad reviews. I specifically remember him claiming the exact same thing about Venom and this year's Hellboy and those are but very recent examples. I honestly don't think the movie is that bad either, but come on.

Why isn't Campea getting tickets to these big movies? Is there something I'm missing?

Even back when JLaw was first cast as Mystique I didn't understand it. Feels like they saw her Oscar nomination and just wanted to cast her as any female character they could, and Mystique was the one that made the most sense.
Jen was cast in First Class before she was nominated for the Oscar. She attended the Oscars after they had wrapped filming.

I don't know who these *other* people you are dragging but these two people you are naming also both said the movie WAS great. LMAO

I'm pretty sure these two would rather you not talk about them, showing to people what a colossal mistake it was for them to defend this movie against all odds.

You assumed wrong. I’m not regretful and I made no mistake. I reported valid scoops and I shared the opinion of the person who actually saw it; and by it, I mean a version of the film that wasn’t as nearly chopped up as the final version. I don’t doubt that version was at least better than what we got.

No, I’ve made real mistakes in my life, and this wasn’t one of them... although I’m starting to think taking your tired bait is. :o.

I’m just waiting for the positive spin on these negative reactions.

Alexandra Shipp speaks...

She and Sophie lived near/with each other during part of production, it's a shame that camaraderie wasn't used in the story. where apparently Storm hardly speaks! FFS...

She also says Storm is at full potential this time... and retains the power upgrade she got in X-Men Apocalypse. (Magneto though, clearly doesn't, because reasons...I thought they would have him lifting Genosha to turn it into Asteroid M)...

Good for that stunt woman: Holly Raczynski. I always laugh when people say they feel bad when movies get bad reviews because it screws over the crew. I've worked in TV and film and trust me, even when the shows I've worked on get skewered by bad WOM, even when it gets bad reviews, it's the experience of being on set that's the most rewarding.

I have a question for anyone who might know.

Was Olivia Munn supposed to return in this and was she gonna be the Selene role?

If so she’s smart to not have come back.

I feel like that's her just taking the question and running with it.
With Apocalypse out of the picture, does Storm still maintain the same powers he enhanced?

Yes, he enhanced her powers, but because this is Marvel, I like to think that he gave her a “super-boost,” so that she could have the powers she was always going to have. He just gave her control and leveled her up in that moment. Apocalypse was able to get Storm to her full potential, but where we find Storm in Dark Phoenix in 1992 is her at her full potential, naturally.
But at the same time it could be something that Kinberg, who picks and chooses which continuity he wants to follow on any given day.

Here's a nice quote:
You recently worked with the original Jean Grey, Famke Janssen, in the upcoming film Endless. Did the topic of X-Men ever come up?

It did come up! She said, “Oh, Sophie is so nice. I got to chat with her.” And I was like, “Yeah, she’s the best.” Famke has done so much since X-Men that it was nice to just talk to her and ask, “How have you not lost your mind? How have you been able to keep your integrity and also your business savvy as a woman in the entertainment industry? How have you managed to make it last?” I respect her so much, and she’s a very, very talented actor. We had some really great dramatic scenes together. She’s one of those women who’s not afraid to impart that wisdom on the next generation.
