Ato Essandoh (Chicago Med, Vinyl) joins the Cast of DPh as "Jones"
and maybe in september 2018 we will learn who he is playingt:
Bryan Singer saw a fan art of Olivia Munn, before she was cast as Psylocke.
Huhh... the only Jones I know is the one from the OT with the glasses whos power was controlling the TV with his eyes.
My guess? A military dude or something.
random mutant #3
He filmed yesterday with Jessica.
Well this was also posted today.
So it's definitely possible. This isn't the first casting call they've had for military people, there was another one last month.
Honestly, Jessica Chastain looks way more like a younger Famke than Sophie Turner does. They should have cast Chastain as 90's era Jean from the start.
Yes, I am aware of that
And Lupita as Storm. I guess Kinberg missed those fanart.
Google image search is a friend for those who are too lazy to read the comics.
Darwin is back!
Or maybe a Younger Bishop! They wasted Omar Sy by the way!
Or the older version of the character Lamar Johnson is playing to go along with Chastain as older Jean Grey
The adult X-Men are shaping up nicely!
So Gladiator then? lol
Why would they need to show a younger version of Gladiator?
They could just use Famke Jannsen to play the adult Jean. She's iconic as Jean, Sophie would never come to her in my opinion especially if this is another stinker of a film.
Funny thing is no one ever said Lilandra was in the movie, or the Imperial Guard. People assumed because it's Dark Phoenix and she is a villain. People just filled in the gaps with their own theories. xD AND Lilandra was never a villain to begin with, an adversary but not a villain.
Dark Phoenix should be the villain, not anyone else.
It's a joke psy.
sorry but your wrong.lilandra as villain was in THR report.
Until/unless we get more information, everyone should continue to treat THR's original reporting regarding Chastain as Lilandra as being valid.
To do otherwise is pointless.
THR last year also should have prepared people for all of fc big stars returning for dark phoenix.THR report has been only piece of official news on film.yes we have rumor on genosha but besides that we only have THR report.
She might be Lilandra but I'd advise against taking everything the trades say seriously.
I mean The Hollywood Reporter had this to say about Olivia Munn when she joined Apocalypse: "will play telepathic warrior Psylocke in the 2016 mutant movie"
Even though there was nothing telepathic about Psylocke in Apocalypse. They speculated based on the comic book character.
And let's not forget that this is the same trade that was claiming the franchise was getting "reconfigured" even though everything remains the same as planned. First Class four back, sequel to X-Men: Apocalypse, jumping to another decade again. Same status quo.
The Hollywood trades aren't infallible (no news entity is), but they're still the most reliable sources, by and large, of information available in regards to films and entertainment, and, in the absence of evidence to the contrary, should be viewed as such until/unless their information has been either retracted or officially disproven... neither of which has happened in this case given that the comment from Chastain re:Lilandra has been deleted.
Fox probably thought about reconfiguring, but many months later they got insecure again and decided to call Fass and Jen again (kinberg included. actually, Im sure its all a Kinberg thing). Its his first movie after all, so he wants the two biggest stars on his first movie. Not that he really thinks those characters were needed in the Dark Phoenix story.
I'd say James and Michael are on equal levels of popularity. Jen is on another level though.
The term "reconfiguring" in THR's reporting was attached to reports of FOX pursuing an initiative to get James, Michael, and Jennifer to return. It's impossible to know for sure what was truly meant by the term, but the fact that the trio were the first actors confirmed for Dark Phoenix indicates to me that FOX and Kinberg's plans for that film resulted from FOX requesting a "reconfiguration" of things.
