Anyone know if this is gonna be an ongoing monthly, or will it just be a limited series?

It will be an 8 issue limited series that "explores the early days at Xavier's with five young mutants training to be X-Men". The promotional art is fyah(hot).

Whoever the cover artist is is doing a good job with this so far. I believe issue 2 deals with them on vacation in Florida. Which I think the map and Dr. Alli A. Gater conforms. I'm not a fan of any of the original five characters nor am I a hardcore X-Men enthusiast so I wouldn't be picking it up, hope you enjoy it though.

Well I love the original five. I've strayed away from x-men, been gettign more into DC and inde stuff, but I do love Astonishing and I love the original 5. The original 5 are the x-men to me, I'll look into this, but is it not in continuity?? Is it a different universe type thing?

Well they never did encounter the Lizard so I think its just more stories with them that never happend or will be retconned

I don't remember where I read this, but I'm pretty sure they're all supposedly "in canon" one-shot types. I remember someone responded to that article with - how can it be in canon if they're wearing different uniforms?

So I don't know.

Also, why does Jean have a white streak in her hair on the first cover? (You can see it better in the wallpaper on the Marvel site)
