I googled X-Men movie time-line and found this which is quite detailed, so i thought i'd post it here.
HOWLETT HOME, NORTHWEST TERRITORIES, CANADA, 1845
- Young James Howletts mutant powers manifest after witnessing the murder of his Father.
- He kills the murderer using his newfound claws. The dying man reveals he was James' Father.
- Victor, the young son of the murderer, takes his friend and now step brother with him as they run from the scene
CIVIL WAR BATTLEFIELDS, UNITED STATES, 1861-1865
- James Howlett now goes by the name of James Logan or just Logan.
- He and his Brother fight in the US Civil War.
THE GREAT WAR BATTLEFIELDS, VARIOUS, 1914-1918
- Logan and Victor fight in the great war.

POLAND, 1944
- Erik Lensherr (Magneto) is forcibly separated from his parents by Nazi soldiers in German-occupied Poland. Under this stress, Lensherr's powers began to manifest and in his panic, Lensherr twisted open a metal fence separating him from his parents before being knocked unconscious.
- Questioned about his Mutant powers by Nazi collaborator Sebastian Shaw (under the alias Dr. Klaus Schmidt). Shaw murders Erik's mother and tortured him over the next several years in an attempt to draw out the boy's mutant powers through his anger.
XAVIER MANSION, WESTCHESTER COUNTY, NEW YORK, 1944
- A young Charles Xavier (Professor X), meets a young Raven Darkholme (Mystique)
- NAGASAKI, JAPAN, AUGUST 5th, 1945
- Logan is a P.O.W when the bomb approches, he is freed by Japanese soldier Yashida, but declines. Yashida prepares to commit seppuku but is prevented when Logan takes him into a well and shields him from the blast. He and Yashida remain in the well for an unspecified amount of time and part ways.
SWITZERLAND, 1962
- Erik Lensherr tortures a banker to trace the wherabouts of Dr. Schmidt, from a bar of Nazi gold he aquired.
OXFORD UNIVERSITY, ENGLAND, 1962
- Charles Xavier publishes a thesis on Mutancy. Lives with friend Raven Darkholme.
HELLFIRE CLUB, LAS VEGAS, CALIFORNIA, 1962
- CIA officer Moira MacTaggert, disguised as a stripper, follows a U.S. Army Colonel into the Hellfire Club, where she sees Schmidt (now known as Sebastian Shaw), telepathic Emma Frost, Riptide and teleporter Azazel making plots against the United States.
ARGENTINA, 1962
- Erik Lensherr attacks and kills a group of former Nazis and learn the whereabouts of Dr. Schmidt.
CIA HEADQUARTERS, LANGLEY, VIRGINIA, 1962
- Moira MacTaggert, seeking Xavier's advice on mutation, takes him and Raven to the CIA, where they convince the Director that mutants exist and Shaw is a threat. Another CIA executive sponsors the mutants and invites them to the secret "Division X" facility.
- MacTaggert and Xavier find Shaw as Lensherr is attacking him, rescuing Lensherr from drowning as Shaw escapes.
- Xavier brings Lensherr to Division X, where they meet young scientist Hank McCoy (Beast), a mutant with prehensile feet, who believes Raven's DNA may provide a "cure" for their appearance.
- Xavier and Lensherr uses McCoy's mutant-locating device Cerebro to recruit stripper Angel Salvadore, Taxi driver Armando Muñoz (Darwin), Army prisoner Alex Summers (Havok), and Sean Cassidy (Bansee).
Xavier and Lensherr learn of Shaws plan to start WW3 by orchestrating a conflict between the Us and Cuba from a captured Emma Frost.
- Shaw (wearing a helmet designed to block telepaths), Riptide and Azazel attack the Division X mutants. Angel Salvadore joins Shaws group and Darwin is killed.
XAVIER MANSION, WESTCHESTER COUNTY, NEW YORK, 1962
- Xavier and Lensherr take the Division X mutants to Xaviers Mansion home to train them. They form the First Class of the future "Xavier Home for Gifted Youngsters".
- Hank McCoy attempts to cure himself of his Mutancy and accidently Mutates himself further becoming a blue furred beast man.
BLOCKADE LINE BETWEEN CUBA AND UNITED STATES, CARRIBEAN SEA, 1962
- With Beast piloting, the mutants and MacTaggert take a jet to the blockade line, where Lensherr uses his magnetic power to lift Shaw's submarine from the water and deposit it on a nearby island. During the ensuing battle, Lensherr seizes Shaw's helmet, allowing Xavier to immobilize Shaw. Lensherr tells Shaw that he shares Shaw's exclusivist view of mutants but, to avenge his mother, kills Shaw—over Xavier's objections—by forcing the Nazi coin of his youth through Shaw's brain.
- Fearing the mutants, both fleets fire their missiles at them, which Lensherr turns back in mid-flight. In a struggle, Xavier keeps Lensherr from destroying the fleets with the missiles, but when MacTaggert shoots at Lensherr, a deflected bullet hits Xavier in the spine.
- Lensherr leaves with Angel Salvadore, Riptide, Azazel, and Mystique, who has now defected to his team.
XAVIER MANSION, WESCHESTER COUNTY, NEW YORK, 1962
- A wheelchair-bound Xavier (whether temporary paralysis or permenant is unknown) and his mutants return to the mansion, where he intends to open a school. MacTaggert promises never to reveal his location and they kiss; at a CIA debriefing later, she says she has no clear memory of recent events. Elsewhere Lensherr, now calling himself "Magneto", frees Frost from confinement.
XAVIER INSTITUTE, WESCHESTER COUNTY, NEW YORK, BETWEEN 1962 & 1973
- At some unspecified point after the Xavier Institute is opened, William Stryker takes his son Jason to the Xavier Institute to cure him of his mutancy. Prof Xavier explains that it's part of who he is and Stryker leaves angry
VIETNAM WAR BATTLEFIELDS, VIETNAM, 1962-1973
- Logan and Victor fight in the Vietnam War
- Victor kills a superior officer, Logan stands with him and both are sentenced to death by firing squad.
- They survive and are locked in confinement until Col. William Stryker recruits them to a mutant spec ops team dubbed "Team X"

- Strykers plan to create an ultimate mutant weapon is revealed, he has been imprisoning Mutants and using their DNA to duplicate their powers to place into one individual called Weapon XI, Logan was the final donor.
- Logan tracks Victor to the mutant prison. Kayla is revealed to be alive and Logan helps her rescue her sister and the other mutant prisoners
- The Three Mile Island Accident of March 28, 1979 occurs and diguises the mutant activity on the island.
- Wolverine loses his memories and has only his dog tags with Wolverine stamped on them as a clue to his identity.
