If there's already a thread about this, I'm very sorry, but I can't find a place where else it should be.

If this Wolverine Origines does good with Gambit in it and there's a big demand, so you think they would ever consider to do a Gambit Origins?

Personally, being a Gambit fan, I think it would be a really good idea. I think there's enough Gambit fans to have demands at a Gambit Origins. The man has a good story to star on his own in a movie. His past is at least as interesting as Wolverine's.

To have Taylor Kitsch in a Gambit Origins, IF he does well in the Wolverine Origins movie, and considering that he signed to do 3 possible movies, it would one of the first choices.

What do you think about it? I'd love to hear your opinions and your motives as to why yes, or why not.

Wont happen but there is a story that could be told and would bridge a void as to how he ended up in the wolverine movie.

Why do you say that won't happen? Do you know that for a fact or are you simply thinking?

Simply thinking like the studio would think...

If it was me, and i was told i could make any x-men movie i wanted to, i would love to do X-Men Origins Gambit as i feel i have a story that would work which would be set just prior to his appearance in wolverine.

But the studio would be looking to move forward, think like star wars, you have the original trilogy and the prequel trilogy, wolverine movie is the start of the prequel trilogy... what would probably follow this is X-Men First Class. Then probably X-Men origins Magneto which bridges the rift that turns him to evil.

Gambit unfortunatly doesnt fit in it...

But if you want to talk what if they would then i would share my idea for the gambit movie.

From what I understand the studio IS interested in a Gambit movie. After seeing the work print I myself want one!

I don't understand why a Gambit movie would not be the choice for them. It's the obvious choice actually. If they didn't want Gambit, then they shouldn't have introduced him in the Wolverine movie. About Magneto, they showed quite a bit about why he turned evil. With this concentration camp thing. He was taken away from his family. To elaborate on that would only make for a very boring movie.

Gambit would be the obvious choice. First of all there's the fans. I think there are more fans than you can imagine. To ignore all that (remember the first showing on the comic con, I think it was there that the first trailer was shown, look at the reaction when Gambit comes onto the screen) would be a horrible mistake.

People want Gambit. Because he's cool, he's the typical anti-hero and just imagine him when Wolverine and him meet again. It's not like Logan's memory is erased forever. Think of the sparks fly, think of him meeting up again with Storm, think of how he would be a vital character to the story. He's the wild card in the story. It would make a really interesting story, with lots of possibilities for continuation.

I think Gambit does fit in.

And if it's true that the studio is interested in a Gambit movie (can someone pinpoint where that is said?) then the road is open. :)

interested doesnt necessarly mean they'll make it. If it doesnt fit in with the saga so far they wont use him. Much like deadpool really.

I could write a really compelling Gambit movie, But a Gambit movie would have to be a prequel to Wolverine and i dont think the studio would allow that at this time, hence why there looking at x-men first class...

If they really wanted Gambit, then they would need to make a two picture deal but not with the same actors. Gambit needs to be more anchored into this world and the only way to do that is to tell his Origin and What happend after wolverine movie, or possibly a few years down the line in an x-men 4 kind of story that would complement each other.

Let me explain...

X-Men Origins: Gambit - story should be a kind of Romeo & Juliet style story... Two sides the Theives Guild and The Assisins Guild... work together in peace and harmoney. Profiting of the backs of each other. But something happens which tares both sides apart and they are now at war, Remy and Bella-Donna are torn by loyalty to there family but at the same time there loyalty to each other. Something bad like the assisins guild would then kill all the thieves guild members. leaving only remy who goes into hiding. Remy then meets Dr.Nathaniel Essex a mutant researcher but is still human at this point. Essex hires Remy to steal data from a mutant research facility that a younger pre-beast Hank works. In exchange Essex will increase his ability so he can have his revenge of the Assisins guild. Upon his return Gambit faces all the assisins guild, maybe finds out that his mother was an assisin guild member who tried to walk away leaving Remy in the hands of the thieves. But the assisins guild killed her so Gambit faces them lead by his former lover Bella Donna - in conclusion Bella Donna was unaware of what the assisins guild did to remy's family and realises how corrupt they are helps remy destroy them but in the process dies. Remy leaves to find his own way in life re-meeting Dr.Essex who has who offers him to work for him and his new assignment is to steal information from William Strykers mutant research facility... which leads him to why he was in Wolverine.

Then we jump ahead a few years to the next movie

X-Men 4: The Legacy Of The X-Men.
A true sequel to the original trilogy, However the villian of the movie is Dr.Essex who has unleased a virus "Legacy Virus" in a bid to wipe out all the weak mutants who he seems unfit for evolution. Gambit is re-introduced as a member of the Maurders and is now played by someone like Josh Holloway to show the progression of age between tyler who gets two x-men movies to play Gambit where Josh would play him in the future. Sinister is the main villian taking over Magneto's role as you will and taking the movie in a whole other direction. That of leading towards an apocalpyse story.

Even if they did want to show progression in age, I would not want Josh Holloway playing Gambit.
I would love to see a Gambit movie personally. The great thing about him is that you could do a movie totally unrelated to his origin and it could still be good. He has a very interesting life, especially when he's in New Orleans.

Well, since they kind of screwed up the whole X-Men timeline already, why not tweak Gambit's story a little too. I think it would be interesting to see some of Gambit's history and his future up to joining the X-Men... even though Scott and Jean are gone and Xavier not being there........

Why not quit being overly concerned with the established film continuity and just make good standalone films?

Yeah, good thinking, Rishi. That would work, I'd say. :)

There will be no more X-men origin films if Wolverine bombs.

I hope they just reboot X-men and do it right.

I actually really want this. And this is coming from someone who disliked Wovlerine.

After Wolverine, I wouldn't really want this. If they can't do a decent job on their cash cow Wolverine, I doubt they would hire a decent crew for a guy who only made a simple cameo in the series so far.

If FOX didn't have the rights to X-Men, these movies would be a whole lot better. Marvel Studios should be doing these movies, hands down.

Apparently if FOX doesn't put the X-Men characters to good use, the rights will switch back to Marvel in 2012/2013, so there's hope yet.

So here's to hoping X-Men Origins:Wolverine and the X-Men: First Class movies BOMB in the theaters.

I'll keep hoping, but I'm not getting my hopes up too much. :)

If Marvel had the rights, we'd still never have gotten movie-Gambit.

Yeah, since Marvel has butchered Gambit in the comics. I don't expect much of them if they get the rights back. I don't unerstand that such a popular character can be so taken down like that. Besides my bias, being a Gambit fan, I think he deserves more than being treated like that. And maybe this Wolverine movie he gets the credit and they will reconsider giving him a better story.

It depends on the buzz after the movie comes out. I wouldn't mind seeing it done.
