Hello, everyone. :yay:

As we all know, X-men Origins: Wolverine will hit the teathers in a few weeks. Before that, director Gavin Hood, actor Hugh Jackman and several others afirmed they'd definetly do a sequel of the movie if it's sucessfull, and even showed interest in abord Wolverine's life in Japan. There has been rumors that Fox is alredy planning multiple sequels, and even choose Cyber as one of the upcoming villains. One thing is for sure: Logan definetly has enought history to cover more movies.

So, i ask you: If X-men Origins: Wolverine get a sequel, how you you do it? Which story? Which characters? Which actors? Which writers? Should there be one at all? Etc...

Let's consider this a imagination exercise while the movie doesn't come out.

Discuss. :woot:

They've got to do the Japan storyline! It is one of the best Wolverine comics ever!! :woot:

Nah. Just go back to regular X-Men and other sPinoffs.

Other spinoffs?
Besides Wolverine i dont see any other x-men character getting a movie that actually would be sucessfull

Even a Gambit movie for instance would probably not do well at the BO

If Wolverine movie really could hold out on it’s own, then why the inclusion of other characters which shouldn’t be there? :whatever:

There will be a sequel.

I say that with great confidence because this film cost alot less than X3 and will most definitely make as much or perhaps more than X3.

So now, here's how I would do it:

#1. The name for the sequel needs to be WOLVERINE. Like they did with the sequel to First Blood, calling it RAMBO (First Blood Part II).

*A subtitle could be thrown under WOLVERINE, as long as it doesn't include "X-Men" in it.

#2. I would like for this film to take place after Origins and before X1, but if Origins ends directly at the beginning of X1, then I'll be okay with it taking place after X3.

#3. Japan or the East is def the way to go, but I think the smart thing would be to keep a portion of the film in Canada. I wouldn't want the film to be Japan from minute 1 to minute 94.

#4. The film would open the door to a large number of villains from the xverse and I'd like to see a storyline where Logan and Deathstrike are lovers ala The Animated Series. This would work wonders since we know where she ends up in X2.

#5. Victor Creed. After 3 Trailers and 2 AMAZING TV Spots, Liev Schreiber is now a key ingredient in the world of Wolverine. I'd like to see him return if he survives Origins.
#6. The storyline I would do would be very similar to that of RAMBO (the fourth film).

Wolverine has been living a quiet yet brief period in the east (Cambodia or some other isolated war-torn asian land) and is satisfied with his situation - yet dissatisfied with the nature of things around him. War and famine seems to follow him everywhere, but he doesn't get involved.

Now we bring in a rogue militia group who learns of Logan's "abilities" and wants to recruit him for their own benefit. He refuses - so they go after what he loves the most (the Death Wish curse once again): His wife (Yuriko).

He goes on a one man war to wipe out the warlords and to add a little spice to the equation - Stryker learns of his whereabouts and also wages war against the guerillas to claim "His greatest creation".

*Stryker (as well as Creed) are the demons that haunt Logan. They should always come in to play if he's on his own. That is until they die.

I think that would be a hell of a film, unfortunately my idea is very "R" rated.

But who knows, right? :yay:

Weapon X is a important part of X-men Origins: Wolverine, and pretty much all the characters in the movie are connected with it, some in the regular continuity (Sabretooth, Silverfox, Stryker, Agent Zero, Bolt, Kestrel and Deadpool), some in the Ultimate continuity (Blob and Gambit). Cyclops, Emma Frost, Storm and Banshee are minor cameos, and they're also there to set up X-men: First Class.

There's no one "out of place".

I'd like a more direct adaptation of the Wolverine mini-series by Claremont and Miller.

Wolverine 2 needs Omega Red.

Yes!

Also, maybe a japan setting with a showdown with Silver Samurai? Maybe a Wolverine vs Alpha Flight in Canada? So many ideas and fights that wolverine could have. I actually remember hugh saying something in an interview about a Japan Storyline as another wolverine spin off.

Yes, he said that, if the movie got a sequel, they'd do the Japan storyline.

Question: What are Silver Samurai's powers? Teleportation?

Lookin at the back of my 1994 fleet ultra trading card of Silver Samurai, it only says:

Katana: charged with mutant energy capable of slicing through any substance.

Wonder how that would do against adamantium.

I wouldn't mind seeing Gambit and Deadpool showing up in Wolverine 2.

If there is a sequel, I would forget Stryker, Sabretooth, Deadpool, and go in the direction of Alpha Flight - or Japan and the Hellfire Club. I have doubts about slotting in Deathstrike because Stryker spoke in X2 like Wolverine had never met her before.

Make it a sequel to Wolverine leading up to X1, or a sequel to X3.

It can slice through adamantium. As far as the sequel I would love the Japan story.Wolvie versus a horde of ninjas that would just be a awesome visual.

I think Sabretooth and Stryker should always come back. As Peter said, they're Wolverine's demons. They hunt him down wherever he is and destroy everything he accomplished in that place, always pushing him a little bit more over the edge. Always making a little harder for him to control his murderous instincts. Always making him suffer like no man has ever suffered.

Yes, I want to see Wolverine in Japan.

I'd also like to see some Omega Red battle.

And yea, despite the changes, I'd like to see Deadpool (I do believe they didnt bring him so far as to not be able to either fix or balance him out to something more favorable) get a solo and team up with Wolvie in the future.

Alpha Flight could be cool.

Hasn't Hugh Jackman flat out said he really wants to do the Japan story

Once again...how about we see how good this movie is first and how well it does before we start talking about the sequels.

I am honestly surprised that 7 people have voted "NO" for a WOLVERINE II.

Who wouldn't wanna see more of this...

Good thing general audiences will want a WOLVERINE II :yay:

the box office gross for this is a given.

200 minimum, 250 maximum.

that right there guarantees a sequel.

the MAY 1 spot is yet another re-inforcement for that box office guarantee.

Yes, but what Chaseter is talking about is actual quality I think...not money.

Like if this film turns out to be another Fox turd, then no I wouldn't want a sequel.

If it's good though...I say make the sequel involve his time in Japan and the stuff with Omega Red.

I just can't wait until FOX uses up their rights to make X-Men films so Marvel can do their own. If a sequel sPeeds up the process, all the better.
