Comics x-men the end

hey guys, im a huge fan of x-men, and i picked ish on eof the end when it first came out and didnt like it, i found it boring, but now i see pt 1 pt 2 pt 3 an dwhat not, so my question is is it any good was i wrong to stop reading, is it worth getting the trades? thanks

I never bothered to collect it past #4 of the first book, but I've heard it wasn't a bad book by the end.
