X-Men TV Series

I think that there is enough interest in the franchise for producers to make a tv series of the x-men (live actors, not animated), that way character developement can be thorougly built for each character(s). There's enough characters and plot to keep the series going on for a long time. They'd need producers/directors from the likes of Alias & CSI to make it entertaining though. I think there was a show called Mutant X or X Factor(?), but it wasn't that good, which stregthen my point about quality producer/director. What do you think?:)

*If there's already a thread about this please move it there, thanks.

It'd be great, but there would be a LOT of budget issues.

*coughpointstosigcough* :)

I agree. I really don't know why there hasn't been one. Especially a New Mutants or New X-Men: Academy X version. Obviously they wouldn't be able to use characters who would break the budget, but I think a TV show could be done. There would definitely be demand for it too.

Maybe if Heroes on NBC is a hit this fall, we'll see FOX try and get an X-Men show out there?

I read somehwere that they were going to do one after the spin off movies

They should get some whedonverse writers for it.

anyone remember the live action Generation X?

I Try Not To; It's One Of The Chief Reasons Why I Think A Tv Series Would Be An Extremely Bad Idea. Mutant X Is Another.

I would love a live action X-men tv show!!! I mean I think that would be a lot of money with all the powers and action on the small screen, but it's better than waiting every 3 years for another X-men movie!!! The show could last for like 6 years and stop!!!

That show wasn't that bad. I doubt anyone would invest in the high buget needed to make a live action X-men TV show, packed with a huge cast of 14 (give or take) characters. An adaptation like Mutant X might work better (with some better writers), and it's probably the closest thing that we'll ever get to see the X-men in a TV show.

Yeah making X-Men into a live TV show would be great. Whatever can be brought to the big screen can also be brought to the small screen. Since they made Blade into a TV show they can do the same for X-Men. If this does happen I think they should make it look like a show targeted towards adults and late teens. It doesn't have to be inappropriate like an HBO series though. If they were to make Wolverine and other certain characters just as brutal as their comic-selves than the show would be restricted. It would only get shown on a weeknight at like 10 or 11PM. I hope they do it this way since every cartoon adaptation was mostly targeted towards youngsters.

As much as I have fantasized about it happening, I really don't think it will. And if it did, the effects would probably be pretty crappy : (

It'll never happen. It'd cost to much the and special effects would be poorly done. Everything would be a step down. I'd rather a very cool X-Men Cartoon and an X-movie every 2-3 years.

Well it would be on fox and we know how well they treat there shows.

Are you sure it would be on Fox? TV shows won't always be owned by the same studios the films were. Like X-Men Evolution was owned by WB and not Fox.

We don't need to see an x men TV series after seeing mutant x
(Strangely I never care much for that show anyway)

But I’d like to see the fantastic four though
Or perhaps a new incredible hulk TV series with the same CGI made for the hulk movie and with Doctor Samson in it
If you notice the origin of the incredible hulk TV series was more like the origin of Doc Samson.

EW.. Then it'll turn out to be as FAKE as Mutant X!!! That show is so unoriginal like Family Guy.

EVOULUTION WAS HORRIBLE :down , THE ORIGINAL ANIMATED TV SERIES I GREW UP ON WAS BETTER , BUT WASENT GENERATION-X A MOVIE AND NOT A TV SERIES:confused:

I posted this idea in another X-Men thread.
I think they could do a Buffy the Vampire Slayer type show, with the budget that show used and the amount of make up and special effects. The feel of the show would be the X-Men world that the movie started. I think this idea would work for the X-kids project they mentioned. I would focus on the kids like ice Man, Rogue, Colossus, Kitty Pride, and some of the others like Siren, Jubilee, Cannon Ball, Dazzler, Sun Spot, Wolfsbane, Thuderbird and his twin brother Warpath and others. It could even bring in adult mutants not shown yet like Banshee, Blob, Avalanche, and so on. They could use stories that haven't made it to the movie like the legacy virus, Genosha, Colossus and Kitty Pride dating, Mr. Sinister, maybe even Apocalypse.
I think it could happen, if you look at the show Buffy, or Angel, or Smallville, they are able to do alot with their budgets. Plus they mentioned that the kid X-Men would focus more on life in the mansion and not so much on the global threat stuff. I would like to see this happen.
Generation X was intended to start the series but i guess it was abandend because it wasn't any good. No one knew about the X-Men and what it was all about, but now the show could work.

I know its a long shot, and probably wont happen, but I hope they make a live action X-kids show.

I like TAS better than Evolution myself. Generation X was a made for TV movie that producers were hoping would become a TV series but it didn't follow through b/c the ratings were too low. Mutant X on the other hand was an x-men spinoff series that lasted for 3 seasons.

If X-Men does become a TV series I hope it turns out good like the sci fi shows we see on TV today. Like Star Gate SG1, Farscape, Doctor Who, Andromeda and Battlestar Galactica. That's why I think Sci Fi should own an x-men tv series.

Guys...Mutant X had NOTHING to do with the X-Men franchise. At all. Doesn't make it any better of a show, but it's a different subject entirely.

i think this could and should be done. they should cast unknown actors, cheap (but good) writers, and have little special effects.

I think one day we'll see this. And could be done, specially if the serie would focus more on the characters and less in the action, that would be the better way to do it, and for us too, so we will can see our characters, their relationships, life in the school, the city.

With "Heroes" and Blade series soon, an X-men one will be a reality.

One day, guys, one day.

When a TV series does get made someday, I wonder what characters they'll be able to use on the team. Depending on the budget that is given there are many characters they won't be able to use as regulars. Like they probably won't be able to use Colossus, Iceman, Nightcrawler, Archangel and some others as regulars b/c of all the cgi and prosthetics they would require. However I'm sure they will try to use every highly marketable character as regulars. Oh yeah and to save money they should only cast unknown actors, hire unknown writers and an unknown director. While most of the money should be spent on the visual effect for the mutant powers and scenery and for marketing. That's my 2 cents.

The only thing Mutant X had in common with the X-Men was the word "mutant" and the fact that it was sponsored by Marvel, who even published one or two issues of a spin-off comicbook.

Buffy required far less a budget than a live action X-Men ever would.
