X3 was butchered by the studio.
X1 was ALSO butchered by the studio.

Both had some pretty cool scenes removed from the film. Knowing what we know of the missing scenes, which one do you think deserves a recut moreso than the other?

One of my fav scenes from X1 is this lil' scene between Cyclops & the Professor. Yeah, its short and prolly unnecessary, but I really like it for some reason. Its in the X1.5 DVD:

Paraphrasing (been a while since i've seen it)

Cyclops and Xavier discussing Logan in the lower levels...

Cyclops: "I don't like him."
Xavier: "He'd be a good member to the team."
Cyclops: "Fine...but if you put that man in a combat situation he wont be able to follow orders."
Xavier: "Give him an order worth following and he'll follow it."

This screamed classic Cyclops to me.

Well?

i never seen that deleted clip or the ones on the x-men 1.5.. can u upload it.. peace.. major propz..

Well the thing is it's not actually a 'clip' per se. I mean it was filmed so its definately out there somewhere in the archives...but it was never 'touched up' or anything...it was just a shot of the Singer and co. filming the scene.

Most of the actual deleted scenes are from the VHS (after the credits)...which I have NO idea how to upload.

Funny...i was just watching x1.5 and was watching the deleted and behind the scenes footage with the movie...i didn;t come across that scene... are there more scenes that i don't know about? the only one i can think of is the one when scott is moving around to find ororo in the train station without his visor on.

It's definately in there...in one of the documentaries. Just can't remember which one (been a while since i've seen it). I remember it vividly b/c James Marsden had those paper shoes over his own so he didn't scuff up the shiny floor on the lower levels.

There's also a deleted/extended scene of Logan and Scott's "stay away from my girl" convo...it was much longer and Scott had alot more dialogue. Have you seen that one?

I just can't recall if these memories are from 1.5 or my VHS...

oh I see. i'll check it out later but i do have ideas of missing scenes that should have been in it.

but i think both xfilms aside from x2 needs it badly.

x3 reallly needs it badly like a X3.5
come on the Phoenix golden gate bridge concept is a better idea?
but is fox really willing to do it again?

I've seen the Cyclops & Proffesor scene on 1.5 and it wasn't exactly necessary for the film plus it was like what? 10 seconds? Also, the part when Proffesor X and Cyke are talking and the Prof. realizes that there is tension between Cyke and Wolvie kinda fills in for it. I would rather see a recut version of X3 since more was cut from it & could have been in it and there were a lot of alternate scenes.

The beauty of X1 is that its deleted scenes only reinforce the positive traits of our favorite characters and the notion that mutation is not a disease and cannot be instantly "cured". Re-editting it would be good for fans but bad for X3 as it would onl contradict and torpedo X3 even more.

i re-edited x1 if anyone's interested..i put in the correct scenes.

Ok well this is what I am thinking.
I want to actually buy the X3 dvd but either send the dvd back to Marvel Entertainment or Fox Studios with a letter. I live near fox studios and a fair distance away from Marvel Entertainment in New York City. I think we all have the rights of complaining to Fox about the DVD mess . Yeah, this weekend I want to write a letter to fox because of the false advertising.
Anyone with me to take a stand and actually send letters saying we are all concerned fans?

I don't know...unlike say Warner Bros. who actually care about the fanbase (at least now) ala Superman II: The Donner Cut, I don't think FOX really give's a **** so long as we fork over the cash. :csad:

But hey...I guess it wouldn't hurt to try?

i know true but its good to express my consitutional rights of well freedom of the press/speech. I mean come on if the x3 dvd sales and how much this movie made worldwide won't push fox to make a extended cut yet along a X4 then they are complete idiots sitting in their ***es in NY and else where making really bad decisions

I would really like to see an extended cut of X3. The deleted scenes were really good. Most of the time, the "alternate versions" of scenes were SO much better than what ended up in the film.

Both X1 and X3 deserve extended cuts, BUT X3 needs it, X1 is fine as is.

Both.

I could recut both of those films into classics.

Well, they already are. But they could be tons better than they already are if they let me get ahold of the editing machine.

There's really no false advertising...

The DVD was intended to be released with 10 deleted scenes.

Some DVD's got printed with 21 accidentally.

Nobody really got "screwed", seeing as how nobody was supposed to get 21 to begin with.

Until I see the deleted scenes I couldnt say If id like them put back into the film. If theyre just more action id say "no" most likely anyway.

If there are good ones on the cutting room floor, it wouldnt change the running time drastically, but like x1, let it digest a bit smoother.

I'd love to see a recut of both but X3 is the one i'd like the most and its also has the best chance of happening.

Ratner could easily reinsert some of the deleted scenes. Things like Jean sensing a scared girl, extended Dark Phoenix destruction, Storm's wave, alternate X-Jet boarding scene, Psylocke's extra scenes, extended Storm/Xavier balcony scene, alternate ending at school, alternate Rogue ending, extended fight at Jean's house (without Juggernaut's reaction), Pyro/Magneto cure scene, Magneto asking Jean for help, alternate Jean power display at camp, extended Storm/Callisto fight, more Trask, Iceman freezes Phat, Leech in lab, Iceman/Kitty kiss...... and and did i fotget anything else?:woot:

If they do a recut of X1 i'd love to see them put back in stuff like Storm's talk with Rogue, Xavier/Jean in Cerebro, aftermath of train station attack (Cyclops/Storm), Storm noticing scars and the origin scenes for Storm (in Africa) and Cyclops (school bathroom) which they intended to shoot and reinsert into the 1.5 dvd.

By your descriptions the bold ones sound like good candidates imo.

I wish they would just re-shoot extra scenes for all three movies to make this more of an X-Men trilogy rather than a Wolverine trilogy.

If x3 was longer I seriously would have a difficult time pointing out the details that give away that this wasnt directed by Singer. Ratner pulled a mystique for x3 and it was smart, but he gave himself away by this.
