Brett Ratner, director of X-Men: The Last Stand, said he will have a personally made behind-the-scenes look as part of the film's DVD release.
"I have a two-hour documentary on the making of the movie that I shot," Ratner said. "It wasn't like EPK (electronic press kit) crews coming by and filming me going, 'Oh, today we're filming the...'
"It was an in-depth making of the movie."
Ratner said he was excited about putting the DVD together.
"I think if you're an X-fan or a fan of this movie, it's going to be mind-blowing," he said.
Ratner said the DVD will contain new footage, but it won't be an extended cut.
"Probably 99 percent of the scenes I shot are in the movie, but there are other versions of it that were shot," he said. "Until I saw the movie, I wasn't sure in which direction I wanted to go. For instance, the Rogue scene. Should she get the cure or should she not get the cure? "So there was a lot of variations."

Ok, no extended cut. Screw the DVD.

No extended cut means "this dvd has a 2 hour making of, but we are gonna bring out a special extended edition next year. But it WONT have the 2 hour making of. Thus screwing you by buying two dvds for different features...........Now bend over consumer, the fox is gonna get some"

Fools, they get you to buy this DVD and then 6 months later X3.5 or some garbage.

I wonder if there's a way you can add the footage into the movie itself or something by pressing random numbers on the remote... like a code ... I dunno. Star wars had something like that but I didn't really follow through it all.

There should be a way... u could add the deleted scenes in the movie...

Rent it, Copy the movie and the extra disc, Tide me over till the extended cut. Extended cut comes out without the 2 hour making of, rent that. Copy that cut and put it and disc 2 in a case.

Awesome , I can't wait to get X3 on Dvd .

Wasn;t there more to the scene between Scott and Jean? ... or was that false? I bet so much has been cut... I wanna see it all in its freaking Glory.

Should Rogue get the cure or not get the cure?

Piss of her fans or not piss off her fans?

Wonder which way he went. :p

Can't they just make X-men 3.5 like they did with the first movie. Oh and and X-men 1.5 came like 1 or 2 years later then the original DVD one so they could later came up with an extended cut or something.

Poor Rogue!

Seriously, the first sign I hear of *special edition* DVD release after the intial X3 dvd release...I'm just going to rent it on Netflix, get my brother-in-law to copy it for me, and then just wait for the other DVD.

I will not be suckered that easily. I hope. :O

Why no extended cut??!! There's way more than 1% of footage that didn't make it to the final cut, I wish he'd stop BSing us!!

I remember when the first movie was released on DVD all anyone would talk about was the special edition released. Fox rushed the first version so it would be out in time for Christmas that year. But they wound waiting until just before X2 was released before they finally released X-Men 1.5.

Aw, the cure's temporary, duh! :p

Tell that to the fans marching towards Kinberg's and Penn's houses with pitchforks in their hands. :p

99% of the cut went into the movie.
oohhhh :(
I thought they'd be LOADS of extra scenes

While we're talking about DVD's, can someone tell me what the changes on X-Men 1.5 were?

No changes on the movie itself, just more extra features--director's commentary, an extra disc with tons of behind-the-scenes features. There was a branching version of the movie where you could watch the extra/deleted scenes as well. Much better than the first DVD release.

But it doesn't have the Spiderman blooper from the first version of the DVD. :(
