Did you love the Xavier/Magneto/Young Jean opening, or would you have preferred an opening monologue by Professor Xavier like X-Men and X2?

Actually yes,I liked the opening. I thought it was a good set up to what was to come.
They were such good buddies back then. I though it was quite endearing.

Same here.
I loved the opening.
It was different.
It was touching and great establishment for what was coming.

You should make a poll for this. Personally I'm glad they went for the Xavier and Magneto opening. I'm happy they kept the Cerebro doors in after the credits sequence though.

Loved it. I liked the flashbacks, the DNA/Cure sequence, the music, the shots of the scientists operating on the cure and the Cerebro doors (especially ).

I made a poll.

Yeah, I am glad that they kept the cerebro doors, too.

speaking of cerebro, this time it was not used. But that door is awesome. The movie started nice and all but things went wild when Jean came out of that hole.

Yeah, it was different, but was great.

I liked the opening, it let you know where they were going with this.

Yeah, I really liked this opening.:up:

I didn't like the new opening. It was terribly rushed. I still like Xaviers monologue.

I would have done both...

An Xavier monologue... opening CGI credits, Cerebro door taking us to the flashback scene.

But whatever, it worked out well the way it was done, I think.

The monologues were kind of brought full circle in X2, when Jean's monologue at the end was the same monologue of Xavier's from the beginning of X-Men.

So instead of a monologue setting the stage of the film, it was a couple flashbacks.

However... X-Men had a couple flashbacks to open the movie too, and they came after the Cerebro doors.

Whatever. It worked. I kind of like the Cerebro door entrance taking us right into the battle in the Danger Room.

I prefer, An opening scene be a monologue by Professor X like X-Men and X2.

The opening didn't bother me, but the original openings with the professor x voice-overs became almost trademark. It almost felt expected.
I felt alittle thrown off at first, but the opening didn't disappoint.
It definitely felt immediately like a different director, that's for sure.

I totally dug it! With the shortened time, i like the way they went RIGHT INTO EVERYTHING key to the movie!

Love the opening. Ratner put his own stamp on the film. And I loved it.

The opening was good, showing both Jean's power and the once friendly relationship between Magneto and Xavier. I just wish it went more in depth.

What I love...

"I would expect you of all people to understand my feelings about the misuse of power".

And what does Xavier do when it's over? Misuses power.

I love it.

I did like the beginning, but I was a big fan of Xavier's monologues in the previous films

I liked it set the story for Jean's powers and story.

the openign was good, it still had the Professor in it, its just now you can see him instead of just hearing him :p

I liked the opening scene as a whole, but that first shot felt incredibly rushed, and rather bland. It just puts you right in the middle of a shot of a car coming down the street. I thought something more interesting could've been conjured up.

Though I think a different monologue would've been really nice.
