When talking about another film that contains solely the OT I sometimes get a bit stuck,

Do I call it x4/x5??

I don't think I'm the only one as I see this stylisation written down quite often....

Singer often call this a "inbetweenqual" which I guess adds to the confusions cos its not strictly X4/FC2

if they decide to do another OT film what will it be....

Confused!?!?

chances are any more OT films won't have a number at the end, but just X-men: (insert name), same as FC sequels

i think the numbering is gone since Origins

As we know xforce has been touted.....

I think it's more colloquially people often like to number for convenience etc

The only movie that had a number in the offical title was X2. The others were X-Men and X-Men: The Last Stand, and with the confusion DOFP is creating in this area I don't think they'll get back to numbers.

then chances are you have to look at this as X4/FC2 because it continues the story of the each previous film, if you are gonna number you might aswell not skip this film otherwise adds to confusion

True, but many of the films are known by there numbers instead of official titles, evidence of this are all across the forum,

I know, I call X-Men: The Last Stand X3, but I was answering to the possible official name of a new OT movie. :cwink:

If you're asking me how I feel this movie... I'm as confused as you are. It depends which day you ask me LOL.

I choose to make that decision after watching DOFP, I think I'll know then.

Haha This is true..... I think people are right about no more numbers, but that means initials :oldrazz:

I.e TLS, DOFP, O:W, and FC

This is how I see it

X1 - X-Men
X2 - X2: X-Men United
X3 - X-Men: The Last Stand
X4 - X-Men: Days of Future Past

W1 - X-Men Origins: Wolverine
W2 - The Wolverine

FC - X-Men: First Class
FC2 - X-Men: Days of Future Past

-Any movie that will feature most of the original cast will be another chapter of the main series.
-Any movie that will feature Wolverine w/o the X-Men is another chapter of the Wolverine movies.
-Any movie that will feature the core four of the First Class cast is another chapter of the First Class movies.

I like this method! So the next OT film would be x5

Yes. I'm pretty sure the OT actors and the other people see it that way.

^I like that method but isn't DOFP mostly a FC sequel?

Yes but the roles of OT cast aren't all cameos or small roles, so I think this can be considered as X4 too. Most of them will have a supporting role like Halle, Anna, Ellen and Shawn. With Hugh and maybe Ian/Patrick as one of the leads.

The future scenes are probally going to be around 30 to 40 minutes of final
film.

Ian Mckellen shot for 2 weeks on X2 and nobody would call Magneto a small
role In X2.

Bryan Singer confirmed the film goes back and forth between 1973 and future.

Don't forget wolverine plays key role.and that makes it more X4 than first class
sequel.

here Is how i see the films

P1-Origins
P2-First Class

X1-X-Men
X2-X2
X3-The Last Stand
X4-Days of future Past

Spinoff1-The Wolverine
Spinoff2-X-Force

how does that make it more X4? in that case maybe the wolverine should be X4? yno because wolverine has a big role in it and its a direct continuation from TLS :whatever:

its half sequel to both there is no getting around that, but alot more time is probably spent with the FC cast on there character development and story and so it should be with over 2 months filming so your logic is abit flawed

wolverine just happens to be the middle ground as he always is, we see him in FC and he is most likely the link to both time periods

It has been confirmed at starting In future.

Per Bryan Singer comments yeah It's partly first class sequel but also partly prequel to trilogy and partly sequel to the last stand and The Wolverine

fair enough, i don't see how that makes it more X4 though, i'm not sure there is anything you can pick out of this that will make it be more X4

its a cross over story, FOX's avengers type movie

I do agree that FC crew will have more time, but the OT will have impact and even a subplot such as the saving rogue idea, malus revelations we heard from storm and maybe deaths!

Maybe a 65/35 split?!
