Okay It's not real and I made it, but wouldn't it be cool?
I would love a microsoft handeld.
This is my concept.

Features: Touch screen, WiFi, XBox live, MSN, A special version of Windows(include Window media, paint, Internet Explorer, and windows live- misc windows programs), Dual analog gaming(also has R1 and R2 on top), and has large memory.

List of common download programs:
Adobe, Active X, Google dashboard, all of the microsoft office(word, powerpoint, and etc.), and much more.

Meh, I really don't see Microsoft doing a handheld. That market is just too hard to get into thanks to Nintendo and with Sony managing to get a piece of the handheld pie (and they had a tough time too), I just think it is downright impossible.

After the Zune's failure, I don't think that Microsoft is dumb enough to enter a market and release a product just because the competition is doing it.

I know what you mean. The zune was a horrible failure, but this is the only product i would like to see microsoft doing.

I also love my Zune. It does everything the Ipods that were out at the time did, has a better screen, and is far more durable.

I don't think a handheld system that plays Microsoft exclusive games and was fully integrated with Xbox Live would flop.

I like the Ipod touch better than a zune, but i do like zune. It's sales were not terrific though.

I also think that the XBox is more fun than the Wii and the PS3. A Microsoft handheld would be better than the DS(pretty fun) and PSP(and i love the PSP).

I could see liking the touch better, with the touch screen and all. But if you compare the Zune to the available Ipods from when it came out, its better in all the important ways, really.

And I would buy an MS handheld, if they came out with one, depending on the features.

Yeah, it would be cool if the Zune released a touch screen version or a touch/voice activated ver.

Rather have one o these

Ben spent three months designing and building the so-called Xbox 360p, machining a custom aluminum laptop enclosure by hand into which he stuffed a keyboard, 1,280 x 720 Westinghouse LCD, and get this — even a custom-built water cooling system to replace the 360’s stock, bulky heat sinks. The end result is a polished, professional looking (albeit heavy — this machine weighs in at about 14 pounds) laptop complete with WiFi, USB ports, obligatory glowing green ring, and converged power supply so that the monitor and gaming system only require a single cable snaking out the back.

My New Version. I call it REVOLUTION(completly a touch screen).

Love how you spend all this time talking about all the different features, but pretty much completely forget to talk about the gaming aspects. You should work for Sony.

Where are the controller buttons on this one? This is supposed to be a gaming device right?

its a touch screen. The controls will appear when you play games.
It's a multimedia device.

i wouldn't buy a portable gaming device that was exclusively touch-screen. I want some tactile feedback when i hit a button. it works for ipods because the actions are simple and the games are gimmicky.

The handheld gaming market is already quite crowded with just Nintendo and Sony. I have a hard time imagining a third competitor being able to stick, especially with MS already devoting so many resources towards Xbox 360.

While that is true I think the key aspect that would make a Microsoft handheld viable is Xbox Live. If gamers had to option to play XBLA games, games made specifically for the handheld, maybe even Xbox originals, gain achievements points, download videos, and stay in contact with their online friends all from the palm of their hand I think they would use it.

The XNA Zune games that are supposed to be released this fall may be Microsoft trying to test the waters before they dive in.

Plus it was hard for Sony to manage to get in the handheld market without being a failure like all the others.

With the huge success of the Nintendo DS and the success of the PSP, there's just no way Microsoft can successfully put in a handheld Xbox.

I actually like that XBM idea. I would buy one. It would totaly flop though.

Thats the same thing they said about the PSP which looked to be true until recently. They also said that the original Xbox would flop too.
