What? Yahoo reported what some, albeit strange, folks might consider news? For shame!

lol...I was just giving you a hard time. I've actually watched World Series of Poker myself. :woot:

I thought the world rotated because of gravitational influences like a cosmic collision before the solar system was being formed. When did this news get discovered, and why was it not on Yahoo news astronomy!?

well it was the associated press that reported it, yahoo ruined it for me ...And to frankin an obake you guys are sooooooo funny :whatever:

I'd watch the Word Series of Hungry Hungry Hippos on tv. Poker, though? **** that.

I'd like to go All-in on Jennifer Tilly. :D

...Sorry. :o

I used to watch Poker on ESPN all of the time, I don't so much any more but I do enjoy Poker and it is definitely a game of skill, it's more of a sport than Scrabble and they show Scrabble tournaments on ESPN2 every once in a while so why not Poker?

My issue with it (if you want to call it that) is that I don't see how watching it is remotely entertaining. Even if you want to call it a sport, which I won't, it seems to me that the only sports worth watching on TV are the fast paced ones (i.e. football, basketball, hockey, soccer, and the like), while others, like baseball are more fun to play or at least watch live than it is to watch on TV (especially since a lot of time in baseball is spent with people standing around).

I don't consider it a sport either, I was just saying it was more like a sport than Scrabble, but I don't think either of them are sports. I think of sports as requiring more physical strength or endurance, although I have played Poker games before where I worked up quite a sweat! The gray area for me is in games like billiards and bowling. I've played pool for hours on end before and it does become physically exhausting, but I still don't know if I'd call it a sport. The same goes for bowling, I don't play it much but I know it requires physical strength and endurance to be consistently good. As far as what's fun to watch on TV, I guess it just depends on what you're into. I like watching Poker on TV, I also watch Curling in the Winter Olympics, which is a game nobody else I know can seem to sit through.

Curling seems interesting to watch because it's such a weird game. I seriously doubt anyone understands it at all, we're all just mesmerized by it.

When I first started watching curling I didn't know any of the rules, then after I watched a while I decided to look them up so I could tell what was going on. Not surprisingly I was still confused. Maybe I'll try harder this time around.
