The Dark Knight Rises You Have My Permission To Lounge - Part 4

I didn't even mention Marvel.
But I did speak of other DC film properties and stated what I think of them, like Catwoman not being based on anything DC.

At least 2-3 of mine went down the flames.
And I edited the newest one to talk about viewer score on the site, that didn't save it.

I've seen that sort of thing before. I think when the problem is so severe with off-topic posts that it is simply easier for the mods to just wipe out several pages at once rather than go through each post and determine if it is relevant or not.

I'm just guessing though.

All the pranks seemed like spurious publicity stunts anyways. To sell how 'extreme' Letoker was.

All that's been the most obnoxious part of the lead up. If I never again have to hear Leto talk about how extreme he is and how he got into the Joker's head space by sending people rats and condoms, I'll be a happy camper.

Did you guys see that petition to shut down RT by a ******** DC fan?

Hilarious.

But why, RT doesn't matter. Critics opinions mean nothing. I can make up my own mind....

/DC fanboys who secretly care about RT scores.

They are too dumb to realize that shutting RT down will create a vacuum, propelling metacritic or something else to replace RT.

It's not like the critic reviews will be any different. They're still going to exist.

They're even more dumb for thinking a petition will get it shut down.

I was asleep when the embargo ended and thought about deliberately avoiding the reviews until I see the movie for myself in the next day or two... Then as soon as I went to the SS section this morning and saw that there was already a "positivity thread", I knew what had happened... :funny:

It's dumb. Disagree with something by all means, but shutting someone or something down altogether? Nope. That's where I get off. Debate is healthy. Censorship of any kind is not.

Yeah, it isn't like these critics work for Rotten Tomatoes. They are still going to be writing/taping reviews. RT merely collects them in one easy place.

So in the SS thread I said that I still have hopes for WW. The immediate response from someone was that even if it ain't good, it might get good reviews anyways because of 'sjws'.

Sigh......

Welp, on the uh positive side, Jeremy Jahns really liked it and I tend to find him to be a pretty solid reviewer most of the time.

I've got my tix for Thursday, hoping for the best. Not gonna lie though, I'm seeing MOTP at Alamo Drafthouse tomorrow night and as of now I'm a bit more excited for that.

Still though, even after seeing the RT score I'd still honestly be shocked if this movie isn't a crowd pleaser. Everything I've seen in the marketing has been screaming "crowd pleaser" this whole time. I was never too sure what critics would make of it, but if the movie as fun as the trailers looked I'd be very surprised if this ended up with the same type of toxic word of mouth and audience ratings as BvS. What is troubling on that front though is the fact that Joker apparently isn't in the movie much. I can see that being a negative WOM thing that makes people who were on the fence about seeing it stay away.

Trying to remain cautiously optimistic. I don't need this movie to be a masterpiece, I just want it to be fun.

I love how contradictory the position is. It’s like the dissent is just from critics that are paid off by Marvel, but I care so much that Rotten Tomatoes should be obliterated off the internet. Silencing people immediately to me shows weakness because it suggests that the people censoring others can’t defend the movie because it truly is crappy.

I'm starting to feel bad for DC now. After BVS it was frustration, now it's just sad. I hope when I see the film I can get something out of it.

WB will make the CBM bubble burst at this rate. They're oversaturating the market with bad films.

I'm still going to see the film, but if it's bad I'll literally have zero hope left for WW (as opposed to very little hope). As for JL...well, I already dropped to zero hope on that a while ago.

After some of the stuff that has been posted on the SHH forums in recent years, it must be done...

^lol.

The only thing I'm really looking forward to in the film at this point is Robbie as Harley.

That petition is flat out pathetic.

I find myself agreeing or subscribing to Jeremy's position on movies more often than not, so it was nice to see him being positive about SS. I remember thinking after watching his less than 'glowing' review of BvS that 'damn, this movie's gonna tank', seeing as even he couldn't find many positives about it.

Have fun seeing MOTP on the big screen, man. :awesome:

Will Smith's very good as well, apparently, and I can't say I had high expectations from him beforehand.

This conclusion is valid.

I laughed at it twice in one hour, and now I'm laughing again.
