I know, but still... it's shocking.
DCEU movies standing on their own, I like this listing. For the past 20 years, WB/DC has not had a significant/bonafide superhero hit outside of Nolan.
Speaking both commercially and critically, since 1996, they've all been given a negative or mixed reception:
Batman & Robin (1997)
Steel (1997)
Catwoman (2004)
Constantine (2005)
V for Vendetta (2005)
Superman Returns (2006)
Watchmen (2009)
Jonah Hex (2010)
Green Lantern (2011)
Man of Steel (2013)
Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice (2016)
Suicide Squad (2016) ??
They aren't very good at this game, are they? How can they get The Dark Knight Trilogy so right and everything else so wrong?

They need to hand it over to Affleck 100%. Problem is I think he wants to make smaller movies and not just be locked in to the Feige type role. Nolan got the hell out before they could lock him in. Smart move by him.
It seems like a lot of unnecessary pressure for Affleck at this stage of his career.
If The Accountant and Live By Night hit the way they should, you have to wonder if accepting the Batman role was the right thing for him at all.
It's like he has Simon and Garfunkel playing in the back of his head ever since it came out.

Affleck is as unproven when it comes to this movie as David Ayer, or anyone else involved in the next slate of DCEU. While I have a lot of faith in his next Batman movie and I'm pumped for it, I definitely don't think Affleck if the answer to the rest of the DCEU's problems.
This is wisdom.Affleck is as unproven when it comes to this movie as David Ayer, or anyone else involved in the next slate of DCEU. While I have a lot of faith in his next Batman movie and I'm pumped for it, I definitely don't think Affleck if the answer to the rest of the DCEU's problems.
One word: Christopher Jonathon James Nolan.

Maybe if all three were in their mid 30s right now.How about Burton/Cage/Keaton? Would be more interesting than Snyder's BVS.
