Cavill was a plank of wood in BvS so he deserves it, too.
They could've replaced him with a cardboard cut-out and I wouldn't have noticed.

In Cavill's defense, he's given literally nothing to work with. I still think he could make a good Superman with the right script and direction. The role doesn't require Oscar-level acting ability. He's got the look and the presence, he just needs to play a non-depressed version who gets an actual line of dialogue to speak.
That said, whether you want to blame him or not, I do agree he was a plank of wood in BvS.
How is the reaction from the DCEU fanbase? Are they triggered?
The nominations for Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice are flat-out ridiculous.
I saw a lot of films this year and a lot of sequels, prequels and remakes. The fact that a film like Ghostbusters wasn't nominated takes away much of the credibility.
Most of the thing is that hating this film, and hating the DCEU has become so mainstream and cool to do that it really didn't stand a chance almost from the jump.
Even before it came out, people were looking for reasons to hate it and hoping for it to fail. So when it came out, and the first reviews were slipping, the hate only snowballed and continued.
Calling Zack Snyder a hack is ridiculous. The man's resume is impressive and the quality of images he can churn out on screen is well above average.
Are the DCEU films perfect? No. Without question, no.
But they are definitely not among the worst films of any of their respective years. Not by a long shot.
Hell, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice is a better film than Suicide Squad in almost every way and it received a "Worst Picture" nod and the latter did not. Simply because it was cooler to hate Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice than it was Suicide Squad
Don't get me started on how dumb it is that Jared Leto is nominated for "Worst Supporting Actor" for the Joker.
Ride Along 2
The 5th Wave
Fifty Shades of Black
My Big Fat Greek Wedding 2
God's Not Dead 2
Alice: Through The Looking Glass
Mother's Day
Warcraft
Ghostbusters
Ben-Hur
Yoga Hosers
Max Steel
Collateral Beauty
The above are all studio releases from 2016 much more deserving a spot on the nomination list. It's not even close in most cases. But hating these movies wasn't the cool thing to do in 2016 and wouldn't get the Razzies the desired attention that nominating a film like Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice would.

Fitting avatar for the occasion, Joker.![]()
Did you notice, this Friday, that a certain line from Donald Trumps inaugural addressWe are transferring power from Washington, D.C., and giving it back to you, the people sounded suspiciously similar to an address delivered by the supervillain Bane in The Dark Knight Rises (We take Gotham from the corrupt! The rich! The oppressors of generations who have kept you down with myths of opportunity, and we give it back to you, the people)?
If so, you were far from alone. The comparison spread like wildfire across social media and online outlets alike, inspiring both glee and incredulous despair. (Has it really come to this? Already?) And while neither Christopher Nolan nor Jonathan Nolan, who wrote The Dark Knight Rises, has responded yet to the comparisonVanity Fair did reach out to both of them on Friday, as well as Tom Hardy, who brought Bane to lifeThe Hollywood Reporter did get a chance to chat about the incident with writer Chuck Dixon and artist Graham Nolan (no relation to Christopher or Jonathan), two of the men who created Bane for a 1993 Batman comic series. (Writer Doug Moench is the third.)
The twist? Though Dixon agrees that Trump is like a Batman villain in many ways, he doesnt exactly mind the comparison: I think those that oppose him fail to understand that a lot of those tics and mannerisms that they see as faults were positives to those who voted for him. The bluntness. The swagger, Dixon said. He added that he was and is a Trump supporterand that he found Trumps inaugural address inspiring, Bane-ian as it may have been: It was also a warning to almost everyone seated behind him. Hes going to keep being Trump with no plans to compromise. This is going to be a wild ride.
Nolan, though apparently slightly less enthusiastic than his longtime collaborator, is in the same boat. He doesnt object to comparing Trump to a supervillainpoliticians and public figures are fair game for jokes and satirebut he does support the new president: I voted for Trump in the general election, he told The Hollywood Reporter. Lets see what he does before we lose our minds. He couldnt be worse than the entrenched establishment weve had for many years.
Well, then! Perhaps for the full effect, we should ask Mark Hamill to read Dixon and Nolans words in his Joker voice.
I don't think Affleck deserved to be nominated. I am surprised that Gal wasn't on the list too, as the likes of Affleck, Will Smith, Irons and Margot Robbie (who beat Gal to an award recently) were nominated, and I thought they were all better. I thought she was bland and wooden in the movie. Maybe she wasn't in the movie long enough.

There's always next year.![]()
