I feel like it would be just Ben Affleck's luck if he did end up walking away, and then the Reeves Bat-film goes onto to become a huge success with audience and critics. It'd be a bit of deja vu from when Katie Holmes passed on TDK.

After all of this is done, I would love to see a documentary of the cluster**** that was the doomed DCEU.

lol, that would be hilarious.

I guess The Batman has to be a monster hit for him to end up staying on board.

He apparently loves the movies so far so if he bails, he's being a big baby. He would be leaving mainly because of critical backlash or a potential box office bomb. The responsibility of directing is off his shoulders now, so just enjoy playing the character (like Bale says, it's a privilege) and wait to see what Matt Reeves does with you, you stupid idiot. If he actually leaves before The Batman, he's officially the most sensitive middle aged man to ever step foot in Hollywood.

I wouldn't blame him if he thought BvS etc had a crappy final cut but that's not the case.

I wonder if this tells us something about JL. Maybe he's foreseen that it will suck too.

Oh I suspect that could definitely be a possibility, considering as an executive producer he's probably seen a cut by now and probably is starting to have an inkling about how it's going to turn out.

If Affleck walks before JL though, then it's a PR nightmare. That's why I'm taking everything with a bit of a grain of salt for now. Affleck could very well know he wants out, and have to sit on that fact for a while.

As I've said in other threads, I imagine they do everything they can to keep ben on board or at least quiet on this matter until after JL releases.

Do we know how many films Ben signed on for initially? The usual three (BvS, JL Part 1 and Part 2)?

BvS, JL and the third isn't so clear. It was speculated to either be JL2 or a bat solo. But probably the Bat solo since JL2 was pushed back/who knows at this point.

It's 3, and I think that's all that matters.

Maybe he thinks Justice League is bad, then I wouldn't be so hard on him but we'll be able tell in interviews, if the good things he says about JL are genuine or not. He was pretty detailed with his love for BvS, so if he says a few surface level compliments about JL and beats around tbe bush then it might be a good sign that he's not enthusiastic about the final result.

But if it sucks , that doesn't mean The Batman will. So suck it up Ben.

Pretty sure that's fanmade back when TDKR was filming.

DC fans spreading BS on their own Instagram site. Lol.

"...Batman who, if you think about it, is a violent criminal, who answers to no one..."

In city this bent, who's there to answer to? (c) Ned Flanders

Rant and Bollox's commentary on BvS is great, describes the experience of watching the movie perfectly - I watched it just once, btw. In the cinema to boot.
