I've always kept myself pretty balanced. It's not like I just watch CNN and call it a day. I read plenty, from a variety of sources. I listen to conservative talk radio, just to make sure I'm getting the other side of it. There are ENORMOUS concerns on both sides of the political spectrum about Trump right now. This is in no way just isolated to CNN, this is not about even about traditional left vs. right politics anymore. If there's more to this Russia scandal, this is the biggest presidential scandal we've had since Watergate and it's also 1000x more serious.

The way Trump has handled this has been flat out asinine. Even if he's not aware of any potential collusion that was happening with his administration Russia, the way he continually defends Flynn and acts like a child who had his toy taken away just makes him look that much dumber AND makes him look even more suspicious of some wrongdoing here. THEN he insults the intelligence agencies that could very well have more damaging info on him? The man is out of his mind and he appears to be in a crazy downward spiral just one month into the job. Period. I don't need any media spin to see that and be f***ing concerned.

I wanted to give him a chance. I spent the month of December telling myself "maybe it won't be so bad". So far, one month in, it's been even worse than I could've imagined.

I said it once in the political forums, I'll say it again here; the French revolution will potentially repeat itself with the Trump administration if that guy continues the way he does.

How do you stay informed? Lol. That's like saying how do we get our music if we don't listen to mainstream radio pop?

Come on. You have to use your brain, go online and find the truth. Don't let the media spoonfeed you. There's no excuse anymore in this digital age where the truth is at your fingertips.

Okay, what do you want me to do? Find some "mom and pop" website that has sources inside the White House? Oh, wait, those don't exist. It's not even remotely comparable to mainstream music.

In regards to real life issues going on in the world, I prefer to live life with my head in the sand. Really makes for a much more pleasant go of things.

Unless I get pulled out of bed one morning and thrown on to a battle field, I don't wanna know about it.

Yes it is. Don't be ignorant about the real art that's around in the world, and don't be ignorant about the truth. Mainstream media (not all of the time Kane) aren't going to give you the absolute truth. If you're not willing to research then you'll be fed lies your whole life. If you take everyone's word for it without forming your own opinion you'll be one of those people who still think Chrkstopher Columbus discovered America. Unfortunately there are people who still buy into that,

No, it's not. Mainstream music and other music are equally valid, dependent on the taste of the listener. Neither is inherently more valuable, unless you're an elitist.

shauner, if you care so much about good information and facts, then you should be 100% against this administration. It's not just a war with the media Trump is waging, but a war with facts. Concrete, clearly observable facts.

If you think the media dumbs people down, what Trump is trying to do is Idiocracy level, "if I say it it has to be true!", dumbing down. I'm sure you can see this.

"The sky is blue."

"Nope, that's just #fakenews"

That's fine, you can't dwell on things. But you can't live your whole life with your head in the sand. Real things are happening to people, and just because it doesn't affect us or our family on a personal level, doesn't mean we should stick our noses up and act like nothing is happening.

You could of said Snopes or the BBC, but to me it sounds like you just read anything off the net and claim it as truth.

giphy.gif
Don't make assumptions. You use your brain and intuition, like a lot of people do and see what information seems bogus, what seems legit. We have to put the work in. Or we'll never know the full truth. Government and media only tell us what they want us to know. Sometimes it's half the story, the ODD time it's the story, and sometimes it's none of it. You have whackjobs on the internet, and you can usually tell when they're wearing their tin foil hats. But there's a ton of information out there that is legit.

Even most of the history we were taught in schools is b.s.

That's my point though. IF there is more to the scandal, then sure. I already said that it's a possibility that it's true. The guy might be impeached. And i'll clap, along with everyone here. But it doesn't mean its true. Obviously you know more about it than i do, so im not going to dismiss it but i'm not going to believe it either just because it's being reported.

I never said he was smart with everything. He's a dumbass most of the time, but he is smart with certain things. Otherwise he wouldn't be the businessman he is today. Not everything he's going to pull is going to work, but not everything he's going to do will be terrible either.

My point remains...don't look for the bad in everything he's doing. Not you. I'm glad you're balanced. But a lot of people on this forum for example, are acting like sheep.

Insulting the intelligent agencies doesn't mean one thing, by the way. It could mean he's trying to hide something. Or it could mean that he has nothing to hide and knows it's b.s, so he's just being his egotistical self.

People like Obama because he's funny, nice...that's a public persona. And Trump might just be another puppet like every other president. But at least Trump is a little more straight forward. All Obama did was suck up to the public and lie through his teeth. But people like him because he's the nice guy. Trump is a ******. But at least he'll say the dumb crap, and look like an ass, and just be himself, so you know what you're getting with him. I'm not an American, so i can sit back and watch this unfold and not worry toooo much about my surroundings (well that's not entirely true because Trudeau is leading Canada and he just showed his true colors: another puppet). One thing is for sure, i can sit back and say that i'd rather Trump with all of his flaws tell me what he thinks versus Obama/Clinton constantly putting on the fakest mask on the planet.

I don't care if you guys agree with me or not. I have my own opinions, and i won't let the media tell me what to think.

No, it's not. Mainstream music and other music are equally valid, dependent on the taste of the listener. Neither is inherently more valuable, unless you're an elitist.
Not saying there's no good music that hits the radio, but it's mostly cookie cutter, corporate crap that is spoonfed to the general public. Equally valid? Well, let's agree to disagree. When a Bieber record and only pop music is being nominated for Best Album of the Year at the Grammys...then yeah..i don't think it's as valid.

I should be? Should? Only i get to decide that.

I am against this administration. But i'm not 100 percent against it, because i don't see everything Trump is doing as "bad". NOTHING is black and white. There's a grey area with everything.

What facts? I see some facts where he's trying to look the other way. Let's all roll our eyes together when he starts talking about the pipelines or climate change. But you're acting like Obama never lied his ass off. They ALL do. Every. Single. President. This is not new. But now that Trump is in it's "ohh it's a war with facts!" like it's some brand new concept. Give me a break.

Honest to God, I've been trying to look for the good. His Supreme Court nominee is qualified and not as extreme as he could've been. Of course, it was a pick stolen from Obama but that's another story.

Everything else, so far, has been an utter sh** show that you couldn't make up if you tried.

The thing is, all of this is underlined by the fact that Steve f***ing Bannon is his chief advisor and the most influential person in his administration. That is an abomination, and there is no way in hell to put a positive spin on that. I don't even think Trump himself is aware of how dangerous a game he's got himself in. He's just an ego-maniacal fool who wants to be loved by everyone and can't stand when the press says bad things about him. But it still makes me despise him for being such a moron. So if you want to argue Obama or Hillary were nothing more than "GLLLLOBALISTTTT" (Alex Jones voice) puppets, whatever....but imo Trump could be a puppet to something even more terrifying. And you're right, Trump keeps it more "real" than probably any president we've ever seen. The problem is, the real Trump is horrible. He's like this perfect concoction of all the worst traits you could have as a human being and he wears it all on his sleeve. It was one thing when he was a reality TV star, but another thing entirely when he's the President. I firmly believe that Obama, for all his flaws, is infinitely more of a decent person than Trump is. That's not the only thing that matters in being a president, sure, but the tone Trump sets with his personality is absolutely putrid. So yeah, Trump is just proving that the face you show the world as president does matter.

You're entitled to your opinion shauner, but when you talk in those vaguely conspiratorial terms, it makes you sound like an InfoWars type of guy. And I would hope that we have a better class of poster than that in these parts.

Insulting the intelligent agencies doesn't mean one thing, by the way. It could mean he's trying to hide something. Or it could mean that he has nothing to hide and knows it's b.s, so he's just being his egotistical self.

The thing is, they almost certainly have more info and this is probably just the beginning. They could leak the transcripts or audio of the call. Where there's smoke there's fire. We don't know everything yet, but he's just playing with fire. The point is he IS just being his typical egotistical self here, but that's why he's proving to be such a bad president. He's showing extremely poor instincts and judgment in how he's handling the situation. It only begs more concern for how he'd handle other serious situations, we've barely even gotten started at this point. It's not being a sheep to be concerned, it's just common sense at this point.

Not saying there's no good music that hits the radio, but it's mostly cookie cutter, corporate crap that is spoonfed to the general public. Equally valid? Well, let's agree to disagree. I can't tell you what you should and shouldn't feel emotionally. Sorry if it came off that way. I meant it more in a logical way.

The fact is here, Trump is lying more often more audaciously about things that are PATENTLY FALSE that it's a whole new level. It's "escalation" to use a forum-relevant term here.

Surely you don't think we're all naive enough to think politicians never lied before. Give me a break. It's about the scale of what's going on here, where it's not even always lying...just a blatant disregard for where information comes from. It's the whole "well somebody told me 3 million illegals voted" crap. It's the retweeting of ACTUAL fake news.

It just feels like you're trying to play devil's advocate for him. I'll call it out if he does anything I agree with. But it's not a matter of just hating on the guy. He's been horrible, both on the campaign and so far on the job.

Trump takes it a step further by going against facts that can be observed by literally everyone. We could ALL see how many people attended his inauguration, and yet he still lied about it. There is lying to cover something up or to protect your interests (every president and let's face it, every person on Earth), and there is lying to bolster your ego and making a complete ass out of yourself in the process.

Ah man. I actually was in NYC watching them film the scene in front of Trump Tower the day they were shooting there. Went across the street when they wrapped and was able to get real close to Bruce's towed Lambo, and got within a few feet of Bale but froze up before I could think of anything to say. I was able to get a few quick words in with Wally Pfister though.

That picture was probably taken that same day, as I think they only filmed at Trump Tower that one day.

I'm not sure my mind can handle the irony that Christian Bale, in his Bruce Wayne wardrobe from TDKR, is standing next to a sitting US President whose inauguration speech felt eerily reminiscent of Bane's Blackgate speech...

:exp:

I think it's obvious why Trump gave TDKR a glowing review. He benefited from it :o

The problem here is everyone who doesn't like Trump is starting to look for a million ways to hate every decision he makes. This is not a black and white world. Everyone is picking on every single word that comes out of his mouth.

That's not the problem. The problem here is what he's been saying and doing. If he was speaking and acting in a more reasonable/logical manner and making more reasonable decisions, people wouldn't be able to "pick on" all of the ridiculous things that come out of HIS mouth. It's not like people (and the media) are just pulling things out of thin air to cover or criticize. It's all coming from Trump and the people surrounding him.

For all his faults, even George W. Bush didn't speak or act in this way -- especially not within the first 30 days -- which is why the country and mainstream media didn't react to him in the way that they are reacting to this Trump circus and covering it.

He says a lot of stupid crap, he's ignorant...

...and he's the President of the United States. You don't see anything wrong with this picture?

And if they say it's true, it's gotta be true right? Who are the ones reporting it? Since when does the mainstream media report anything serious that actually has truth to it?

Very often, and every day, in fact.

How do you stay informed? Lol. That's like saying how do we get our music if we don't listen to mainstream radio pop?

Yes, because there's no "fake news" online, and everything on the Internet is true. :loco:

If anything, there's much more slanted fake news being spread all over the Internet than there is on television and from mainstream media sources. And by the way, online media is still...the media.

Also, I'm not sure how or why you're comparing mainstream music to mainstream news coverage. The difference between mainstream news and online news is not equivalent to listening to mainstream radio pop and then finding a great indie band online somewhere that you think is better.

Since you seem to be an advocate of seeking the truth, here are 15 of the most unhinged moment's of Trump's press conference:

http://www.mirror.co.uk/news/politics/15-absurd-moments-donald-trumps-9834880

There's nothing fake about this, which is the scary part. This is the President of the US. He is clearly not tethered to reality and way out of his depth in this position.

Anything's better than talking about Orange Man.

I wonder what the DCEU fans will say about the dark and gritty Logan movie getting positive reviews.

Kind of goes against the whole agenda that critics don't like serious superhero movies.

I suggest you do the same.
I am.

Honest to God, I've been trying to look for the good. His Supreme Court nominee is qualified and not as extreme as he could've been. Of course, it was a pick stolen from Obama but that's another story.

I'd rather the devil i know than the devils i don't (Hilary). At least i know his stupidity is out in the open, his lies are out in the open, his motives are usually out in the open. With the others you can never tell because it's a pure 100 percent character in front of the camera.

The Bannon thing is super suspicious, and i hate it. That's the MAIN reason why i don't trust the guy.

I don't care if Obama is a decent person, it's about results. You can be a sack of s**t as a human being but get your job done. Obama being nice is part character, part truth...but what did he achieve? Not as much as most people hoped. Trump is still a businessman, antics aside, wait and see if he crashes and burns or if he makes some good decisions. Don't crucify him because he's an *******. I'm willing to see what he does. There's nothing i can do about it over here in Canada, so why not have an open mind.

You're entitled to your opinion shauner, but when you talk in those vaguely conspiratorial terms, it makes you sound like an InfoWars type of guy. And I would hope that we have a better class of poster than that in these parts.
As for the infowars type, well i agree with some of that stuff, and i completely disagree with the rest. I go from nodding my head to thinking they go too far with their conspiracies.

Just because i question something (i don't trust anything unless i see some evidence) i get labeled a possible infowars type of guy. Questioning things make me a conspiracy theorist apparently.

The thing is, they almost certainly have more info and this is probably just the beginning. They could leak the transcripts or audio of the call. Where there's smoke there's fire. If they have legit evidence like audio etc, then good for Trump, he deserves to be tossed out. Until then, i don't have to believe it.

Having an ego doesn't mean you're a bad president. It could lead to horrible results if he doesn't back up a bit, but so far i think everyone is exaggerating. He's the easy target, and people love to judge.

You can be concerned. You don't have to crucify everything he does.

I can't tell you what you should and shouldn't feel emotionally. Sorry if it came off that way. I meant it more in a logical way.

I am absolutely playing devil's advocate because someone needs to around here. Nobody wants to hear the other side, and the Trump supporters are hardcore followers like friends of mine that i've been arguing with over the last few months..they don't want to hear the other side either. There needs to be a balance. Not just "i gave him a chance back in December before he became president! but nope! not anymore!". That's not fair enough.

Yes, because there's no "fake news" online, and everything on the Internet is true. :loco:

Don't put words in my mouth. Now you're sounding like CNN, twisting my words.

Of course there's fake crap online. You have to use your head and get to the real s**t, you're not going to get it on CNN 90 percent of the time. They tell you what they want you to know. They've been brainwashing the public for decades.

More on the internet than television? I disagree.

I was talking about mainstream media. Not just "media".

Also, I'm not sure how or why you're comparing mainstream music to mainstream news coverage. The difference between mainstream news and online news is not equivalent to listening to mainstream radio pop and then finding a great indie band online somewhere that you think is better.
Yes, it is.

That site is pathetic. Unhinged? My eyes are rolling right now. Another classic media headline to get people to click on it.

Let's go through the numbers.

#1 - nothing bad there
#2 - yes he's a liar
#3- nothing bad here, he's saying in general that drugs are cheap and easy to access. He's not wrong about that. I don't think he literally means as cheap as a candy bar. Then again, i don't take drugs so he could be right in some cases.
#4 - i laughed. he's hilarious. Do i think he's racist? Probably. But this is no different than anything he's been saying since early last year. Let's move on, why dwell on dumb crap that has nothing to do with anything. It's a question that is asked just to get a rise out of the guy, or a media worthy audio clip.
#5 - "Some of it is written by our opponents" maybe. i don't have evidence so whatever.
#6 - he's right. Putin is a lunatic. And Trump doesn't want to be bullied. Trump should not have said this.
#7 - Classic Trump. Doesn't mean he's allowed to or has the authority.
#8 - This could be casual racism or he just didn't watch his tongue and he genuinely asked if they're friends. It could go either way. If Obama said this or Bush, people wouldn't bat an eye. Trump says it (because he has a history of running his mouth) and everybody loses their minds!
#9 - He could be right. We'll see.
#10 - One man's speculation versus another man defending himself. Just because he's defending himself and saying it's made up, doesn't mean HE is the one telling the truth. Another one of those "we don't have proof, so it could go either way".
#11 - Trump is a idiot. Can't defend him on this.
#12 - More nonsense. Who cares.
#13 - Again, who cares.
#14 - Are you serious? This made the list? Let's pick on everything that comes out of his mouth. That says a lot more about the person writing this article.
#15 - You're an idiot Trump.

.....wow. Shauner isn't your typical Canadian.
Annnnd what is that supposed to mean? :hehe:
