Jaws V.

Direct to DVD.

From Ain't-It-Cool:

"Universal Home Entertainment are prepping a fifth JAWS movie as one of their direct-to-dvd premieres. The studio wants to go head to head with Warner's DEEP BLUE SEA 2, which is also going direct to dvd, and also centres on killer sharks. One idea that has been suggested to the studio for JAWS 5 is that they completely forget about what happened in JAWS 3 and JAWS 4 and again have Roy Scheider's character, Brody, returning to do battle. Since Scheider isn't keen on doing any more JAWS film, it'll take some tough negotiations. At present, the only returning element of the series is..... yep, you guessed it, John Williams' iconic music score."

Cool be nothing but damned lies, but it has the unavoidable weight of studio logic to it. :(

Wow. Just Wow.

I didn't know if I should have made a stupid post like HOOOOOAGGGIIIIIEEEEE or actually have given a serious, yet worthless opinion. I'm really at a loss for words here. JAWS is more than a film. It's a rite of passage. Boys hit puberty when Quint gives his speech about the Indianapolis. And JAWS: The Revenge, well tell me who can turn the channel when its on. It's the train wreck of all train wrecks.

Yet, the fanboy in me wants to see a hundred and three Roy Schieder battle a cheap, mechanical shark with low production costs off the coast of Martha's Vineyard. I want to hear a reference to Quint and Hooper, so I can say, "hey, I remember them, they were in the good Jaws movie, JAWS!"

Yes. I do want this film.

That shouldn't be difficult since everyone else has.

That would have been highly amusing. :D

I love Jaws IV. It doesn't make a lick of sense on any level.

Isn't Roy like 80 now?

Also, don't we have enough bad direct-to-dvd and video killer shark B movies already?

Robert Shaw is rolling in his grave.

I know-! Why the hell are there so many?! Who on earth watches all these awful things?

Jaws Returns. I knew it.

Girl : Where did you go?
Brody : To see the Orca.
Girl : But you told me it was destroyed.
Brody : It was. But when oceanographers thought they had found it, I had to see for myself.
Girl : Well, you're back...and everyone seems pretty happy about it.
Brody : Not everyone...or thing...

....is more exciting and scary than the entire of Jaws 3D.

I have only one thing to say.

SHARKS...ON A PLANE.

Think about it.

I'll end up buying it. I'm a JAWS fanatic... That said, I would prefer a proper sequel as opposed to a DTV release... Aren't there already enough of those? Shark Attack 1-3, Megalodon, ect.

I never saw why Jaws was so scary. This sounds like a bad idea. Not just bad a terrible inhuman idea.
