You know you want it... "Gathered together, From The cosmic reaches of the universe…"

You should show him the Filmation era JL too, which by his logic "everyone" once grew up with so that's the "real" one:oldrazz:

Although Hawkman with a claw (about a decade before wolverine) was badass!

It seems that there are a lot of teens and 20-somethings who either don't know or have forgotten that the JL-JLU 'toon wasn't the first incarnation of the Justice League in animation. I like that cartoon as well (I have it on DVD), but expecting the movie to mirror that is unrealistic. Moreover, 'toons like this were aimed at a young audience, whereas the new DVD animated movies like Doom, Flashpoint, and War are more palatable to adults.

So the JL movie won't be about the world's 4 greatest heroes?:waa:

:oldrazz: Yeah I'm joking. Just cause I saw them on the cartoon by no means are they the goto version for a movie.
You should show your friend this thread as an example of why that's true.:funny:

That would be straight to DVD...
I'd take it!
Although I don' think it would even get that far.

I imagine WB's main focus is on Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, Green Lantern, The Flash, Cyborg, Martian Manhunter, and possibly Aquaman... and we can skip Green Arrow because he has a show (along with Flash)...

So my team would basically consist of:

Booster Gold
Plastic Man
Red Tornado
Metamorpho
Hawkman
Hawkgirl
Power Girl

^ Characters we'll never see in live action, EVER.

Booster, and Hawkman have both appeared in live action (for TV).

Nice team though.
Granted the current regime at Warner Bros. still isn't mining their more obscure DC properties for movies the way Marvel is.
Or licencing them out to other movie producers. they do manage to get them into TV though.
But I wouldn't completely rule out Booster, Hawkman and/or Hawkwoman, or even Plastic Man, from potentially having appearances in a movie.

I would definitely put their movie chance potential, those you list, a lot higher than those of the topic of this thread though. :funny:

These are characters who DC Comics hardly want to acknowledge themselves, never-mind Warner Bros. putting them in movies.

While DC/WB completely avoid any recognition of the HB 4,
They have somehow managed to find their way into the X-Men franchise - :oldrazz:

Gives somewhat a live action sense of how they could visually gel as a team.
Yeah, just a coincidence, sill awesome! :awesome::

Now their own movie can't be far behind, right.:cwink:

Just found out that Edward L. "Buster" Jones, known for voicing The Superfriends' Black Vulcan, G.I. Joe's Doc, the original TransFormers' autobot Blaster and succeeded Arsenio Hall as Winston Zeddmore on The Real Ghostbusters, has passed away at 71.

If ever DC worked Black Vulcan into the DCU kind of how Young Justice used them, I would wish they would give him the awesome Secret Identity "Buster" Jones.

So sad to hear. Rest In Peace, Mr. Jones and many thanks for all of the memories.:csad:

Static, Black Lightning, and Black Vulcan all have the exact same power set, and Static is by far the most interesting of the three. He definitely deserves to be in the DCEU imo.

Static, Black Lightning, and Black Vulcan all have the exact same power set...
Sort of:
Black Lightning 1977- the original, at first used a belt that allowed him to generate electricity, force-fields, etc, although it was later revealed to be an innate power the belt just helped him harness it. He doesn't need it, and it's no longer referenced. He also manifested repulsion field which grants him the ability to fly. Pierce was also an Olympic-level physical athlete.

Black Vulcan 1977- was really just Superfriends version of Black Lightning (just changed so DC didn't have to pay creators Tony Isabella and artist Trevor Von Eeden), his powers became more cartoon extreme, Flight was a regular phenomenon, in fact he could transform into living lightning, and in this way travel at light speed, pretty much a super speedster. As well as generating electricity and lightning bolts, he could also make hard light lightning bolts, in the forms of weapons, swords barriers, cages etc.

Static 1993 - on the other hand is more electromagnetic, like Magneto, although has both electrical and magnetic energy allowing him to generate electricity and move and ride metal objects.
(there was also a previous Static by Steve Ditko 1983)

Personality they are very different.

I do like how Young Justice, by pairing Virgil with Long Shadow, Dorado and Sam, implied they were all four together analogues of the Superfriends creations.
Although I've seen some Static fans hate that he was even associated with Superfriends.

There was also the JLU Timm/Dini Animated Universe analogues; The Ultimen

Wind Dragon, Juice, Long Shadow, Shifter & Downpour (they left off Dorado)

I would love to see a Super Friends movie. I thought the way they did Zan & Jayna in Smallville was successful.

As for the images above with the action figures, I have a pretty complete Super Friends line-up, including a custom made Rima the Jungle Girl.

As for the retro-Megos, I have the first wave (Superman, Robin, Samurai, Apache Chief) and the Wonder Twins are due any day now.

The second wave is ready for 'advance purchase' now too (Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Black Vulcan, El Dorado)
