I have a fan made copy of the extended STM cut and that little clip was included too.

I got my first VCR in '83-'84 but buying movies on VHS were expensive. It must have been a real treat seeing your favorite movies on network TV when not many people could afford VCR's back in the day.

God. I am old. I actually recall those old ABC Sunday Night Movies, moreover I seem to recall watching the night they premiered Superman.

Anyhoo, I remember seeing "Superman" on tv when I was little. (I was what, 4? 5 perhaps?) Anyway, I remember watching it and that movie, along with "Superfriends" were my first experiences seeing Superman. Good times. I actually have really vague memories of watching at least the first 3 Superman films on tv back in the day. Ah, memories.

Well my brother and his friends were in my parents room watching Rocky 2, and I was in the living room watching Superman. That is why I remember it. We had an arguement on who got the living room TV and I won.
