Did you ever have a parent call you inside using that ageless phrase? I honestly don't think I ever heard it in my youth.

:lips:

pssssh, i was a fat kid, there's no way i'd ever leave food on a table...

i'll be there while it's being prepared...:o

heard it alot from my aunts during birthday parties...never from my parents though

never cared if my food got cold, just popped it in the oven or microwave.

oh yeah . . . hear/heard it ALL the time . . . but my dinner isn't getting as cold as this thread

No, but my girlfriend says it and she completely jumps the gun too.

There's like city manhole level steam coming off it when she says it.

I heard it, but it was normally laced with a couple of expletives.:o

I heard it a few times from my mom. Not often though.

I heard ALL the time from my mom. I would always be playing video games and never wanted to stop

Never, we all usually came to the table whenever they said dinner was ready.

I get that line even to this day. How the **** is it going to go cold in less then 2 minutes after it being taken out of the oven:whatever: It's almost as bad as ''Remember that part in the film when-'' Why do you have to say ''remember'' when I've seen it:whatever:

Wich that actually implies is that SHE is getting cold. :wow:

When it was hot.

OOH, BURRRN

Kids today don't eat dinner with their family. They are all holed up in their miniature apartments with all the conveniences of the world within arms reach. The parental units are merely there to provide sustenance and monetary support when needed, moral guidance is optional. The days of getting called in when the streetlights turned on are gone... these are the days of the young fatties, hot pockets are cuisine.

I weep for the youth.
