It is. I don't think there is some official criteria that says what is a Christmas movie. Also why couldn't action movies be Christmas movies?

Hard to say what makes a movie a Christmas movie. The vast majority of It's a Wonderful Life does not take place at Christmas but people see it as a Christmas movie because that's when the pivotal stuff happens. Same with Meet Me in St. Louis.

The Sound Of Music is considered a Christmas movie even though it doesn't take place during Christmas time, nor does the story have anything to do with the holiday. So I say if The Sound Of Music can be considered a Christmas movie, so can Die Hard and Lethal Weapon.

I fact, you could argue that Die Hard and Lethal Weapon are even MORE Christmas related than The Sound Of Music.

Black Christmas (the 1974 original, avoid the remake like The Plague). Santa's Slay is a pretty fun horror/comedy in the tradition of Gremlins & Krampus (a 6'6", 300 lbs, Jewish pro wrestler playing a homicidal Santa, what's not to love?). Silent Night Deadly Night is pretty fun too (not as tongue in cheek as Santa's Slay, but fun none the less).
