There's a lot of good **** coming out within the next couple years.. The purpose of this thread is to make everyone aware of these movies by saying which ones you're really looking forward too and why.
As of right now, there's a few things that I'm really looking forward to. One being Shymalan's new movie, "The Happening." I loved "Unbreakable", "The Sixth Sense", and "Signs" but I absolutely loathed "The Village" and had no interest whatsoever in seeing "Lady in the Water." However, the script reviews for "The Happening" seem to be really great and it sounds really interesting and a ballsy film. I mean, to have a movie that essentially revolves around people killing themselves on screen is something that's probably going to be really creepy watching onscreen. The only problem with this film that I can think of is how the **** can you end it? I mean, there can really be no resolution with this.. I don't know, I guess we'll have to see.
Another movie I'm really looking forward to is "The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford." I've been looking forward to this since I first heard about it years ago. Then, I heard nothing about it for the longest time but a few weeks ago, a really nice review came out for it so my hype is up again for it. Brad Pitt supposedly turned in an awesome performance as the cocky Jesse James with a deathwish and Casey Affleck supposedly surprised a lot of people by stealing the show as the obsessive Robert Ford. This ones supposed to come out in the Fall and I'm really looking forward to it.
Avatar: This movie sounds like it can be the next great space epic. I'm a sucker for these kind of flicks and I think James Cameron is going to deliver. I'm also excited to see this supposed 3D camera system and all the visual effects that will be tacked on.
Sin City II: I'm really looking forward to this one. I loved, loved, loved the first one. I'm a sucker for visually pleasing movies and "Sin City" was the definition of that. I can't wait to see the next one as I'm hoping it will deliver as much as the first one did.
The Curious Case of Benjamin Button: I'm a Fincher nut and I'm excited to see him break out of his crime genre norm and venture into new territory. I also love Brad Pitt and whenever Fincher and Pitt team up, it's film magic. I hope this one will be a great one.
So what are you guys looking forward to?
