You know, that type of film that has recieved bad press, even though it's technically a good film.

it could be a horror film, we all know there are alot of them that have been banned or have been deemed controversial...or perhaps it could be ANYTHING.

My two favourite controversial films:

Braindead/Dead Alive and A Clockwork Orange.

Carnal Knowledge. So vulgar it inspired a Supreme Court case.

Sid & Nancy.

controversial amongst surviving family members and those who experianced the events displayed in the film. the stylistic apparoach also found disfavor with sex pistols fans and punk history buffs.

awsome. beautiful. tragic film.

Yeah. It's controversial because it's very inaccurate. I mean, they portrayed Sid and Nancy's relationship to a T, but the events are not right, nor are the portrayals of the other Pistols (especially Rotten). I love Gary Oldman's performance, but I don't like the movie.

i agree with everything here, except that i love the film. on my personal top 5.

I've never understood what is so great about A Clockwork Orange, and I'm a massive fan of Kubrick. Sure it has a great style, but at the end of the film I was thinking, "What exactly is the point of this movie?" It has a vile, disgusting sociopath commit horrible crimes, get brainwashed, gets tortured by an old man(deservingly so) and then sits in the hospital. Why is this such a big classic for movie fans? I mean this as a serious question. Maybe someone can help me realize it.

I think it's overrated as well, especially in the punk community.

Revolver
The press ****ing tore this apart, and it still hasn't been released everywere. I personnaly loved it. Visually it's brilliant and the performances are very solid as well.

Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas
Damn, I love this ****ing flick. It's wild, crazy and sometimes total nonsense. That's why it got very negative reviews.
