Anytime that someone posts something like /thread, it refers to the use of a backslash to signify the end of something, kind of like you need to [/b] to show the end of what you need to bold. In the manner used above, it means "End the thread", used in the context of "This is the best answer you're going to get in this thread. There's no more point for this to be open.
