    Happy Easter, Guest!

Your thoughts on the Suicide Squad - Official trailer 1.

I'm quite positive this trailer is going to go over better than the last BvS trailer.

Thanks. It was very insightful reading your thoughts on the trailer.

To play devil's advocate they perhaps did for films dealing with rag-tag groups of comic book character misfits.

Watched it dozens of times on my own, and it's not counting all these reaction videos. Rhapsody made a hole in my head already.

That was a blast and a half. My interest in this movie just went from zero to 100.

Very awesome. Great song choice, fun editing. I'm now looking forward to this more than BvS.

Great trailer and great song choice. The more I see of this Joker the more I love him.

Maybe I'm thinking too deep about this trailer. But it's interesting that right after the Eastwood fist bump "HEROES" emerges on screen. Maybe its nothing or maybe its something..

Great 2nd SS trailer...loved the Bohemian Rhapsody music used a long with seeing more humor and solid action. The SS film is gonna tear it Up!

Smith, Robbie, Leto and Davis are going to own this!

Looks like Joker and Harley are going in the chemicals to take a "bath"!

I'll be honest, it took me by surprise. Wasn't expecting to like it and was somewhat amused the first time I watched it. Second time I saw it, liked it a little more. Third time I found myself getting excited to see the film. Fourth, fifth, sixth, seventh.... well you get the idea.

Wish this was coming out in March instead of BvS, way more excited about this film...

Exactly. I don't understand the instinctive need from some to defend the trailer from any comparisons because the similarity is undeniable. I understand Guardians doesn't have a monopoly on classic pop songs, but it's clearly going for the same rag-tag, irreverent vibe.
I'd be upset if it didn't fit the material, but it does.

The rag tag band of misfits thing is itself a classic staple of action films and thus, yet another thing that GOTG did't invent and in fact was something that film no less than SS, was aping from everything from The Dirty Dozen, Kelly's
Heroes, Blake's Seven, Star Wars, Farscape, Firefly/Serenity... The list goes on.

Don't forget The Expendables movies.

I thought the trailer was amazing, this and BvS are what I'm looking forward the most this year.

And yet none of those are comic book movies marketed with classic rock songs to give it a somewhat specific, irreverent tone.
Are we seriously debating this? Are we really trying to say the comparisons aren't warranted?

If being the first film based on a comic book that used top 40 Rock/pop from the last 50 years in the film and trailers is the title you NEED GOTG to have, so be it but... Yeah action tent poles long before Marvel was it's own studio were pulling out that playbook for decades now. Is THAT debatable? That we've had films that used popular songs in the film's run times and trailers/ads before anyone thought doing GOTG was a good idea? That GOTG doing just that was them aping a slew of other films from the far and recent past? Plus... Wasn't this a trend that people who consider themselves the cogniscentti were deploring to high heavens not long back?

You'll forgive me... I was a teenager n the 90's, so a soundtrack filled with easily identifiable hits used in commercials and trailers... Been there done that, though it seems it's revolutionary to folks just a hare's breath younger than I for some reason.

Let's just agree that the use of that trope was warranted with Suicide Squad.

A DC blockbuster (with Batman in it) has used Bohemian Rhapsody as the basis for a trailer... and it worked. Let that sink in.

A Nolan directed Batman film used Nu-Metal in TV spots back in 2005... Let THAT sink in. I bet you Chris didn't even know about that. ;)

I don't "need" GOTG to have anything. I just find it odd you're trying to argue against obvious similarities.

Yeah, that was terrible. If it had been up to Chris he woulda picked Radiohead.

Ayer even said that the movie is basically going to be The Dirty Dozen with Super villains.

The real question is: Who cares? So what if they both have iconic songs in the trailer? How does that matter in any way?

I liked how the sound of gun fire matched with the beat of the song.

Isn't it obvious? Marvel taught DC how to make movies, trailers and so on. DUH.

The ones arguing against the comparisons apparently care. Note that was my whole point.

I just don't see why this is being brought up. Why do people feel the need to compare this to GOTG. The only thing they have in common is being little known to the GA.
