Nice. He has a good look for an ancient wizard from the levant, and a contemporary of Nabu. I was thinking Donald Sutherland just for the voice and those eyes but Cross is good across the board.

Huh, here's a random thought: to avoid the awkwardness of having the wizard also named Shazam, how about they combine two figures, and make the wizard Nabu the Wise? It would still tie back to egypt, and if they ever really wanted to use Dr Fate they could still have his Helm be an artifact of Nabu.

As I posted before the voice and the eyes of Donald Sutherland scream the classic Wizard from the books.

If not Freeman then maybe Danny Glover? Again, put the long beard and a white wig on and he's pretty wizened looking. No pun.
