Nah. But I know the guys who did. And I was in it.

It looks decent.

The editing in the trailer definitely hints that they at least know something about how to pace a movie.

These guys are talented man. Keep in mind that when they made this while they were still in film school, and had a pretty low budget. They've only gotten better over time.

Zombies are my favorite!

Yeah, I know. Having gone to film school myself, I can recognize potential as opposed to the usual film-student tomfoolery. What school did they go to?

Capilano College (now a University).

I was pretty tight with that crowd because I was in the acting program at the time, and I had worked with them on a bunch of their student projects.

Where did you go?

huh. that doesnt look half bad. well played.

Michigan.

I'm glad you guys like it.

Yeah I'm not sure when they're going to release it, but I know they're planning on submitting it to film festivals and the like.

They just recently put it on IMDB (not that theres much to look at except who who was in it/made it, and a brief synopsis).

Haha. Yeah thats totally why they made this film. They wanted wanted to just make a fun kickass zombie movie. Who was I to argue?

It needs a twist.

At this point, a kick-ass zombie film (unless its REALLY good) isn't going to launch anybody to stardom. I wish your friends the best, but the movie looks like a standard zombie-fest so unless they're dynamite with actors, I think they may need another very indy movie that brings in some new angles on cinema if they want to get hollywoodized.

I suppose... But then I don't think any of us is in this so that we can be launched to 'stardom' as you put it. Don't get me wrong, if Stephen Spielberg called me up to be in his film I'd be stoked, but all of us is in this business because we love what we do.

I suppose I should have elaborated beyond 'kick-ass zombie film' as I am over simplifying. The film isn't just about a bunch of guys killing zombies. Over all the story focuses more on the characters who are trying to 'survive in a world gone mad' using Zombies as a back drop. Each person has their own back story, and set of circumstances that eventually brings them together. So I guess you're right, in that a bunch of cool stuff does not a good film make. But personally I thought the script was really solid, mostly in that the were interesting, it never took itself too seriously, but wasn't dumb, at times made fun of the genre, and (most importantly) was fun.

But at the end of the day the lot of us made this simply because we wanted to be involved in the making of a film. And we're all believers in networking and self creation. I (and the rest of the actors involved) love to act, the guys who made the film love to make films... Making millions of dollars one day would be nice... stardom/celebrity, should it ever come, is something I'm not really interested in.

I'm more than aware that this film may very well NOT 'make' our carreers or anything like that, but I sure as hell had fun doing it all the same.

But I do see what you're saying, and obviously this is their first stab at it. So it'll be interesting to see what they do next.

I get it. I love making movies too...actually sometimes I hate it because I always end up wanting $100 million to achieve what I want to make :csad:

are you in this movie? If so, please identify yourself in the trailer?

As someone who's learning about real filmmaking, this is a nice view of what's possible.

Would you happen to know offhand what the budget was? I'm guessing it was small, but I ask because it'd be nice to know what's feasible when you're tight on cash.

The crown jewel of all tight-on-cash cinema was Robert Rodriguez's "El Mariachi" which was made for 7,000 dollars.

of course, they didn't have to pay for locations or anything because they shot the movie in the star's small hometown in mexico

Yeah I understand that. I've talked to many a freind who will write something huge, and realize that they don't have the money for it.

Yes I am indeed in this film, You can see me hitting a zombie in the head with a putter, and I'm usually in a white dress shirt. check out 1:11 and 1:29. Alot of my stuff is quickly edited in this trailer.

I don't know the exact amount I don't believe it was much more than 10,000, but don't quote me. I wasn't in charge of the finances obviously, but as I understand it that was about how much we had give or take.

:shockI did not know this. I have so much respect for RR right now.

It looks great. I would see it if it ever comes out. The trailer captured my attention, and made me want to see more.

It needs more boobs, a lot more boobs. And a funny character, you know for the kids. You gotta sell those action figures.
